i just burn a wd2500ks
thanks for the very good service of cycom, they change a brand new one for me without asking a word i don't know why, but i think it is really a hurt to keeping 250gb files in a disk and suddenly finding have lost all of them and also i don't think i can afford always another 250gb disk for backup purpose only |

OMG!!!
recently many LYN member got SMART error on their WD hdd.... WD being in the market quite long, why they product such unreliable hdd... can it be because of making in China? eveything cheap and fast to spoilt below are the another thread happen on one of the LY member. i think i should give it a try for Seagate, people were saying Seagate was very noisy, this doesn't matter on me, as long as the hdd can maintain healthy up to at least 5 years and above. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...st=0&p=5444480& |

QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Dec 7 2005, 01:43 AM) my new seagate will have the 'tak...tak....tak...' sound when using bt,or donwloading via limewire, other time, its as stealthy as a stingray(correct me if i use the wrong term),only thing is,since i bought it from pc fair,so no warranty card or whatsoever, scared cannot claim warranty,so.....no warranty card can claim warranty arr? you bought from the shop, the shop only offer a year warrenty by them, after that, you need to send it by yourself. show them your receipt they have to accept the hdd with F.O.C. else post their company name here and nextt ime will will not bong chan (buy from) them!!!! Seagate was easy, we know the location. only the WD i am not sure where to send. Cycom broucher did mentioned RMA location of Seagate, provided with the address. Below is the Seagate RMA address.... Seagate SeaCare Centre C/O UPS Suite 11.20, 11th Floor Menara Summit, Persiaran Kewajipan USJ 1, 47600 UEP Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. Tel: 6-03-8023 1333 Fax: 6-03-8026 8375 Seagate gave 5 years warrenty...wow...this is good...!!! which means they were confident with their products and to serve the consumer. we know the electronic parts is wears and tears. If the hdd can last for at least min 5 years it will consider good. Else if the hdd able to last for more than that, that will be awesome. I would like to know the address & location for the WD RMA, no one mentioned in thsi thread! thanks! anyone can tell me about the issues of certain hdisk cannot be detected due to their large capacities? some people reporting that it only detect a portion of the hdisk, such as 170gig from a 200gb hdisk.
anyone care to expalin how did this happen? compatibility issue? bios problem? does this problem affect those hdisk used in the portable enclosure? thanks in advance |
