QUOTE(sadako-chan @ Oct 1 2012, 03:41 PM) What model? Idlilng problems are cause by iacv and tps. If tps calibrated wrongly, also can result in this. If new cars, sometimes o2 or failed cat can give these symptoms. Engine = K20AIf obd1, usually iacv or tps. What is your idle rpm without a/c on, what engine and what model? already de-CAT idle rpm with/without AC can vary from 250 - 800 rpm. analogue meter so not easy to know exactly, except i know it's too low. |

very hard to have accurate diagnosis for those sound problem.. it's mostly suspect this part, change it, then see if the sound goes away.
I've changed tie rod before... sign of problem is a kluk sound mostly and visible inspection to confirm wear and tear. I've also changed wheel bearing... sign of problem is the jack the car and spin tyre and feel for vibration method. Cannot remember the sound, but definitely not eek eek.. |

QUOTE(sadako-chan @ Oct 9 2012, 08:38 PM) Wheel bearing is hard to diagnose, depending how it fails. In my case, my front left passenger wheel bearing was worn, I had vibration when braking, but no sound at all, I checked brake pads, discs, etc. got nothing! Funny, mine also front left passenger wheel bearing... no braking issue, but got a bit of light rattling sound if I remember correctly. Actually I dunno how to even describe the sound accurately.i drove almost a year before it failed and made squeaking sound while turning. Then I replaced the bearing and the vibration while braking was gone! gg. |

Hi,
I'm looking for help from any owner of 7th gen Civic... ES 2.0 or ET 2.0 model.. Need help to check some computer diagnostic issue with my own ET2.0. Basically we will plug in the scan tool to the car OBD2 port under the steering and compare readings. So you get free computer diagnostic and we will clear any fault codes you have also. Plus I treat you to breakfast / lunch / tea / dinner depending on what time it is. PM me if you're interested to help or you have a Check Engine Light you want to checkout without having to pay Honda to do it. Basically my problem is that the scan tool is showing that my primary O2 sensor is giving -ve current reading, but there is no Check Engine Light, so need to confirm if the O2 sensor is really faulty or it's like that by design. Only way is to compare with the same model of the car. That's where YOU come in, if you're willing to help. ps : workshop location is in Sunway |

QUOTE(stone8713 @ Jun 16 2013, 10:26 AM) one noob question... For me the hood does not provide any structural integrity to the car during crashes... so IMHO no safety impact... however make sure it's securely attached to the car... don't want it flying off, then really got safety impact.plan on installing a carbon fiber hood for my fd... does that take off any safety from my car... heard of issue that the hood will fly off at high speed... or when during a accident it will reduce ur safety n all.... any1 mind to share their point of view... thx in a million |

QUOTE(archonixm @ Jun 16 2013, 05:39 PM) Anybody got good exhaust setup/formula for Civic FD2? And where can it be done? Let me know if you find one... so far no luck to get cheap + good workmanship + qualityI mean the kaki exhaust shop, not branded such as SuperCircuit, or Hotbits. Must come with good workmanship. QUOTE(sadako-chan @ Jun 18 2013, 01:41 PM) everco does high quality welds. most conti or sports car owners who cannot afford real conti performance exhaust go there. They are cheap or pricy depending on the exhaust tubing material. 304 ss is not cheap. Everco.. I DO NOT recommend... was recommended to do my exhaust there.. end up real con job and bad quality workmanship. Why not skunk2 alpha? it's reasonably cheap. or second hand exhaust. But if you don't mod your engine, best not play with the exhaust system. the middle piping is big enough. If you want to change the exhaust note, then just the muffler will do. Went in just to weld an exhaust leak and was talking to the boss... the workers simply cut my exhaust to pieces... end up replacing full set SS, extractor to muffler... then come the fitment issue, exhaust hit body everytime I put the car into reverse (due to torque from engine). Again go in to fix it, but they simply put big dent into the exhaust pipe to clear the body... instead of cutting and re-doing the piping. Pretended like the exhaust was done somewhere else and not by them. boss missing in action Then after going to another exhaust shop, I found that the extractor was badly designed, instead of a Y joint, it was just a simple U. Had to modify extrator again. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jun 19 2013, 12:52 PM) as for exhaust shop... id recommend UnderSix exhaust... nearby everco... have seen some of their work... pretty good... they even recently fixed my low hanging center bullet issue... no more scraping speedbumps Hmm.. there's an FD2R in front of me now on the hoist with a custom made under tray. White of course, with orange rims and the words racing goes on at the A pillar. Someone you know?they also fabricate a few other things... first time i went there they were making a seat bracket/rail for a recaro SPG in an FD2-R a friend of mine recommended me this shop and hes done a number of fabrications with them... including an undertray for his FD2-R |

QUOTE(siauann @ Jul 2 2013, 08:02 PM) question is dunno... overheat case can cause quite a lot of damage... first thing is to check for engine oil leaking.is it safe to drive while the oil is below the normal level? i did drive quite a distance before topping up If leaking then most likely got warpage already in that area. If engine oil constantly goes down a lot, then time to check radiator there got water mix with oil or not. Also smoky exhaust is a sign of engine oil leak into combustion chamber. White = coolant, black/blue = engine oil |

Smoke or steam from a leak in the coolant? Water/coolant evaporate.. oil normally doesn't
