if standard b16b with b16b cams and standard type r intake n TB with hondata...then id take it. or standard B16A with B16B cams with type r intake n hondata oso id still consider....actually if the hondata stays....id take it with almost any engine...HAHAHAHHAHAA.....but try n get a B18C GSR with hondata oso can.

just as a benchmark... a friend of mine bought an original EF9...B16A with endyn forged pistons...B18CR intake, tb, head and cams n valve train...YS1 with ATS 3,4,5... cusco clutch, tein HA... 16" enkei japan wheels...japan exhaust...and original factory fitted sunroof for 25k...this car was built by rochi.

VTECs may be awesome...but theyre not the best engine the world..if B16A... expect to kena tapau by the GSRs

i wouldnt say cheap...more like proper market price... there are alot of over priced civics lately....bought it about a year back.

bulls eye...meaning everyone is targetting u la... from protons to contis..other jap cars....even other hondas are targetting u.. hell i even kena cucuk by a stock kancil before


same here... but for some reason the 4 door EKs have caught my attention lately.....but its more towards liking the back of the car (that has been converted to the 99spec) rather than the front...

EK hatch... until now i still cannot fully appreciate them....front or back or side or top or bottom.

good boot space to carry my baby's stroller and other stuff....decent enough rear leg room for my wife to sit at the back with my baby...

while maintaining a 2 door sporty car which is track-worthy in one of the best handling FF-chassis for track days......



i actually love the custom panels in rywire's car... very top notch build quality...

ASC Speedmetal has always made badass stuff... would love to get me hands on one of their 3-point strut bars... sexy shit...

pahang osoooooo....i suggest u make the trip... a car this old ur gonna have to do lotsa legwork to find a decent one...

btw bro....do u happen to have a dyno chart...u could cover up the numbers if ud like... i just wanna see the lines...

and since our setup almost similar engine wise (i.e. high comp with stock cams)... im wondering would u be confident enough to bring ur car into SIC for a good 2-3 hour open track day?

damn...i was at my mechanic's workshop today....totally forgot to ask... he recently just completed a K20 swap into an ES this past week....

oh yeah...forgot about the B18c-R internals... so u get to rev higher for safer.

but even then...with the current setup... r u confident to bring it into sepang?

i say go for it....if the car is in good condition then by all means....id say its ok...

finding one in good condition is hard enough....but to get the ogura, e-manage, linkage coilovers etc and especially the YS1....go for it

engine wise can be done later...but at least thats all u need to do... u already have the YS1 for a closer ratio...ogura..yum yum...e-manage will just need a retune if u upgrade...

with that kinda list in a good condition car...id say go for it


the only thing id do with the car is the J's racing spoiler and front lip...and i would also sell off that bumper and get one without any foglamp (might even make some money too)... i used to have that bumper and hated it coz the foglamps always misalign..and theyre actually pretty useles....not bright at all...even in the fogs of genting....unnecessary weight to the car.

at most id get the one with the round foglamps and use the foglamp holes for cold air intake hoses.

for header go for the Skunk2 Alpha.. about RM1.8k and for ur B16A.. 2.3" with single bullet and 5Zigen Border 304 Speed.. aka the one with the Race Only (RO) tag.

best muffler for VTECs imho... the sound is so addictive

my setup is a custom 4-1 header with 2.5" pipe, single bullet... no muffler (cutout open aka loud mode) or Spoon Street muffler (cutout closed aka Silent mode)

coz the K20A-R engine is expensive... believe me i wish i had the K in my hatch...hahahahah

considering the list of mods.. yeah id say pretty worth it...but hes been trying to sell that car for a LOOOONNNGGG time already... problem with K-swaps is that its not easy selling the car with the K in it.. not many people have that kinda cash in hand... best is to sell the engine and go back to B series for an easier sale. either that.. or sell the car at the car's normal market price...not taking the cost of the engine into account.

skunk2 alpha i meant the header only... never bothered to find out about the rest of the system...hahhaha...

there was a dyno test done on HT.... the skunk2 was consistent throughout.. vs some other replica headers like toda n hytech...it didnt come up tops.. but still pretty consistent and decent numbers.

n i love my cutout.. done by the ex-owner...superbly functional... only problem is when ur travelling next to a wall on ur right with the cutout open...the sound really bounces back to u...lovely...but deafening at the same time..

exhaust cut out basically allows u to have a quiet and loud setup whenever u want...

one thing i dont like about the aerospeed cutout is that when closed...its not 100% sealed... theres still a "ring" around the flap that allows the exhaust gas/noise to pass through...



anyway...heres a vid of mine.. pic of it in the vid as well

could also be bcoz it was just 1 single run (usually best to get 2-3 runs for a better average)...that n also 2.5" going into a 2.3" muffler...

but it does feel heavier and less rev-happy with the cutout closed...

anyway....after engine put back together, gonna get crome-d and will prolly do another comparison with a few runs instead of just 1...

MSD external coil first or walbro fuel pump first...

custom air ram and heatshield by GME Racing (powdercoated blue) with 6" Blitz SUS Stainless Steel filter....i personally dont bother with branded intake systems... i might care about the brand of the filter only though....

but as long as the air ram is well designed n does not obstruct the flow of air.. its all good.

anyway...my friend's intake system (pictured above) is for sale, not sure sold or not...if interested drop me a PM and ill pass u his number.


at least for us if we go k-swap we can just place the filter behind the passenger side headlamp and away from the heat..heheheheheh

anyway... since ur on S300... ever done any research into the costing for a Hondata CPR setup?
