Need some help:
I bought my Huawei Honor a few months ago, and everything was working fine with the ICS pre-installed and many Google apps. Recently, I updated my firmware and lost half of my contacts and was not able to synchronise with my gmail. So i decided to do a factory reset. Lo and behold, all my google apps disappeared. So i updated the firmware to its latest, and have been trying to get back Google Play store, but failed. I have tried the following but failed: 1. Downloading the latest PLAY STORE apk and installing. Installation works, but the app just crashes immediately when I open it. 2. Trying to update from sd card (in recovery mode) with ics gapps. P/S: my recovery mode does not have the option to 'install from zip' like other forums suggest. It only has 'update from sd card' This are my phone details: Android version: 4.0.3 Kernel version: 3.0.8 Build number: U8860IV100R001CHNC00B923SP03 All I really want is to get back my Google Play Store. Anyone have any ideas? |

Erm maybe you might have updated to the China's ICS version? Cause from what I know Chinese Honor ROMS do not contain GAPPS at all.
Well, you can try downgrading to Gingerbread ROM found on Huawei Global's website or you can try to find the B978 rom, which if still true is still the most stable ICS beta ROM for Honor. You can find the B978 ROM somewhere in this forum. Goodluck! |

All I did was update the firmware to the latest (from the phone), not software upgrade, and somehow Google Play wasn't there. Now my phone doesn't have an option for software upgrade. So you think that if I look for that version of ICS ROM, it will work?

I downloaded the approved test version, Fast? yes! Performance? nice! BUT take up more internal memory space! Darn! I also notice that my default mp3 ringtones, notifications and alarm on my sd card is not noticeable?

Sure new version takes more memory, but so what? Did You have low memory errors? If not, just use it. Try to do factory reset. Maybe it helps.
