It's kinda stable but not as stable as I hoped it would be. Nonetheless it is still better than the previous beta releases and contains most of the functions missing in the beta versions.

But i do hope they would rebuild the ROM to make it much more stable, cause this rom feels more like a near stable release rather than a stable release.

About battery.

Yesterday battery run out - phone turned OFF, so I connect the charger, at this morning, pressing the power button, 100% battery shows. Then I switched phone ON, phone booted up and shows 95% battery level, and all the time is charger still connected.

Strange?

The phone has this function where it automatically stops charging when it reaches 100% and only starts charging again when the battery level drops to 90% or something to prevent damaging of the battery.

Anybody got the B866SP01 ROM that has quicksetting controls with lesser language selection available?? I flashed on my phone but I can't seem to find the ROM anymore... zzz need to flash another phone with it....

The different of both B866SP01 ROM that I have flashed are :-

1. In Settings-->Display there is an option to tick "Notification settings"
2. In Settings-->Language & keyboard-->Select language the list is shorter than the one that are downloaded from the huawei international site.

As I've written in this post. (Below in gray)
After the purple screen part I cant continue. But I dont know how come i still can use my phone. But it looks like an ICS software. But can't do anything much.

HELP!!! I've downloaded the 2 files

miui_Honor_2.2.23_20 (zip file)
&
Honor_tools (unzipped file)

I've copied the dload file, updated, deleted the dload file and done until the purple screen part plug in the cable and replace the recovery file form the Honor_tools file from the original folder into the 1 into the phone?

Then i unplugged my battery and replug it back. I manage to wipe my data and clear my cache but then I'm stuck at the "install zip from sd card" part.

I realised the "miui_Honor_2.2.23_20 (zip file)" isnt in my phone. So i transferred it from my comp to my phone. But then after that i can go back to this place anymore although i clicked both volume up and power button simultaneously.

HOW? HELPPP!!!

Added on March 29, 2012, 6:08 pmI think I know what my problem is. I'll try to Flash MIUI 1 more time and see whether it's succesfull or not.

Why would you use B866? I tried it seems clutteres and messy with lots of unwanted apps. Isn't B865 better? This is the one that came with the phone when it was just released here in Malaysia right? The stock 1?

BTW I need help, something is wrong with my phone. Yesterday my phone battery went dead. So i plugged it in to charge and left it there. After 1 hour when i checked back, the red notification light was blinking and I needed to use my phone so i unplugged it (it was still off at that time). But when i try to boot it it wouldn't. Then i googled and it ask me to removed the battery and plug in the charger and then try to start it again then put back the battery to charge. I manage to boot the phone with the battery removed. But when i inserted the battery back in it it wouldn't charge. Also when it is on with the plug without the battery, i couldn't get any network signal. But when i insert the battery the signal comes back. What is the problem? Also i notice that my battery is slightly bent (dont know whether it has always been like that or because i dropped it 2 days back.)

Is the 2 yrs warranty national or do i have to go back to the shop where i purchased the phone?

Nevermind. I downloaded a newer version of Huawei Honor_Tools.zip.

However I did not find the file I wanted.

Actually, I am looking for an UPDATE.APP that has the patch to put quick setting switches to the notification area (Wifi, GPS, Data...) or the B866SP01 ROM that has the quick setting switches embedded inside.

Weird thing is, I have this two Huawei Honor that I have flashed both with the B866SP01 ROM where one has the switches in the notification area, has the menu option to enable/disable the notification settings inside the Display Menu in the Settings and also have about 20 languages only to choose where else the other one has no switches in the notification area, has no menu option in the same Display Menu in the Settings and has mora than 30 languages to choose in the the Select Language Menu.

I am totally baffled..

There are two possibilities here..

1. I have flashed different ROM but with same base, B866SP01
2. I have flashed same ROM, later flashed an UPDATE.APP file which has the notification settings implemented.

The thing is after the 1st phone flash I did a cleanup of my ROMS collection and I really am not sure whether I have deleted the ROM or the UPDATE.APP file.

Anybody had done putting the quick switches inside the notification area on their B866SP01 phone?

From what I read you might have a hardware problem. Better check with the Huawei service center, or send back to shop ask for replacement if can. If too long already then no choice but to send for warranty.

adfy, you still need any preious firmware? I do keep them but I need to get them uploaded first.

I have these.
GB B860SP01, B866b, B865SP01, B866SP01, B866SP02, B876
ICS B909SP02, B967, B969SP03, B969SP05, B977, B978, B919, B919SP01

Dan Peng, I know your problem. I faced the exactly one before. Did you flash your ICS to B919 or B919SP01 and then flash with MIUI? My symptons was exactly the same. Battery didnt charge, phone no network, phone hang after loading in and so on. Then the battery just drain off as it doesnt charge, and eventually it looks like a dead phone.

The problem is actually MIUI v2.6.1 and versions before it are based on ICS B972, while the latest MIUI v2.6.8 is based on B919. The difference between B972/B977 and B919 is because they have different baseband. B972/B977 is 404020 while B919 is 404029.

So to solve your problem, you actually need to find a way to fully charge your battery first. Go find a friend that have a similar phone, borrow their phone to charge your battery. After that flash back to stock B919 then flash with latest MIUI. If flashing B919 isnt successful, then you should try flashing to B977, then upgrade to B919, then only flash MIUI v2.6.8.

If you still face any problem, try to explain more here. Will try to help.

Honor is a very great phone, it doesnt die so easy! biggrin.gif Been flashing it like nobody business and its still working good! Hope to help so that you dont need to send to service centre.

Added on June 10, 2012, 5:18 amHuawei Malaysia is such a shit head!! They release B919SP01 Beta in ZIP, then they release Beta in RAR, and then they remove the "Beta" and announce it as their "Malaysia Only" release, but in fact the release was the same file with both Beta in ZIP and RAR. Now they remove the release and replaced it with TRIAL VERSION. Downloading the TRIAL VERSION now, and it better be not the same file again!!

I don't get why honor has problem with ICS. It's definitely not the software as other phones are running fine with ICS.

Downgrade to GB but the GUI/ interface seems so dated. Anyway passed the phone to my wife and she don't seem to mind
