Y want to change away from PS3?? (T-T)

It's the BEST tyre that you can get for the Saga BLM (I'm using them too)

If next in-line it would have to be the XM2's. with 420 threadwear rating,
it should last about 2 times as long compared to the PS3
(you can't go fast, so u won't go fast, coupled with the thereadwear rating, should make this tyre last LONG!!)

Neuton NT8000 different company/factory with N8000. Tread design, performance & comfort nearly same but Neuton long lasting compare with Nexen. If budget RM200 per donut my recommendation Neuton NT8000/5000 in your price range. PS3 & CDrive2 price more than RM200 each.

Hi all, just checked the first page of the tyres price but didn't seem updated enough. Just wanna check the current price (roughly) for Michelin XM2 205/55R16 for Honda Civic 2008, or anyone familiar with this car could give me some advise on the next tyres? Looking for quieter tyres, comfort drive. Current tyres are Goodyear. Thanks a lot.

Actually they(Weng Heng also LYN member) selling tyre here refer: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2520683&hl=

I read Yokohama CDrive2 nearly as good as PS3 & better than XM2 or may be cheaper than both Michelin. For 205/55R16, other good choice is Continental MaxContact5 or Toyo C1S/T1S/T1R or cheapest & good for daily used try Neuton NT8000/5000.

Depend on car, not all car can install/upgrade with wider/bigger tyre. You ask the tyre shop. 45 series tyre not all hard/not comfort depend on tyre type. If you installed with hard/medium compound tyre the feel become uncomfort/hard like Silverstone. You can see some car(normally sport car) installed with 30/35/40 series but still comfort coz they using semi soft/soft compound tyre like Continental Sport Contact 3/5, Goodyear Asym2, Toyo & many more.

Anyway, what car you driving?

Tis' the time for new tyres...again!!

Let see what you Lowyat netizens would suggest.

I am currently running on my 2nd set of PS3 and was on PP2s previously. I have no complaints on the PS3s accept that they are asymmetrical, and as I run fairly aggressive negative camber and weird toe settings, i tend to chew up the inner treads quickly. Even so the current set of PS3 lasted 40K so I'm impressed. What can I say, Michelin makes a very good all-rounder sporty tyre. Not the best in each category but very balanced.

Good breakaway characteristics, good dry grip, excellent wet performance, rather quiet and oddly comfortable despite the stiff sidewalls, and consistent performance all the way to the nylons. These are the equivalent of crosstrainer shoes.

Looking for 195/50/15, 195/55/15, or 205/50/15 on Satria 4G93.

Will be driven hard and does occasional track days. Tyres for me last about 3 mths to 1 year depending on how many trackdays.

Previously I had these;

Yoko RE001 - stiff sidewall, very good tyres, RE002 quite expensive
Yoko Parada II (2 sets) - cheap, great in the dry, soft sidewalls, soft compound, scary in the wet
Silverstone Evol8 - horrible tyre. Had the thread separated on a quick run up Camerons.
Kumho KU31 - cheap, quiet, but soft sidewalls and dry grip down 10% from the PS3
Yoko AD07 - Superb tyres. Best of the best except when wet. AD08 bloody expensive.
Silverstone FTZ Sport (2 sets) - Best budget tyre to date. Good grip in wet and dry, stiff sidewalls. SUPER CHEAP at 120/pc few years back. Discontinued.

Stick with another set of PS3s or take a gamble and go with the new boys for a change?

Shortlisted candidates (symmetrical - directional design)
Toyo T1R - Long in the tooth and soft sidewalls
Goodyear F1 Directional 5 - no idea how the Mk5 is.

or the new budget performance tyres that was discussed earlier like the Neuton and Nexgen. How about Maxxis and Federal? The indonesian tyres (Achilles, GT Radial), worth a try?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

im using 195/55/15 T1R...brought it to sepang once and regretted it.. sidewall super soft and couldnt grip properly. T1 n T9 n T14 is the worse... especially in T1 tires felt like popping out of the wheels and the car was understeering like mad...the rear was also "dancing" a little. great for daily street use....horrible for track.

i WAS on the hunt for KU36.. im sure uve heard of this tire and its feedback... unfortunately.. theyre impossible to find so im jumping ship to Federal 595 RS-R 205/50/15...should be decent...especially since WTAC lists these street tires as semi slicks laugh.gif gonna be using them for street and occasional track days.

Achilles ATR Sport is supposed to be pretty good performance wise.. a friend labeled them "cheap n cheerful"...the same dood oso mentioned that the tires will overheat in about 2-3 laps in SIC (he does about 2.4x laptime)...the threads also lasts super long... so long that ur recommended to change the tires by the time the threads reach 50% coz the rubber would have harden n could break at any time laugh.gif

u should look into RSR or R1R.. both have 140 threadwear...or u can look into KU36 (180 threadwear) if u can find them. ive posted prices for RSR and R1R 2 posts above urs

im getting the RSR this weekend coz my wife n baby sits in the car with me at times n the RSR is supposed to be better in the wet than the R1R...ill be getting them from racing art klang.. if u want, and if ur in shah alam, u can join me this saturday to go n get urs too...mebbe buy 8 pieces can get more discount brows.gif (drop me a PM if ur interested)

and considering how often u change tires.. id strongly recommend getting another set of cheapo wheels with something like the ATR Sports for daily use and another set purely for track day....i plan on doing this... but gotta wait til i move in to my new house first.. right now no space to keep hahahha
