im using 195/55/15 T1R...brought it to sepang once and regretted it.. sidewall super soft and couldnt grip properly. T1 n T9 n T14 is the worse... especially in T1 tires felt like popping out of the wheels and the car was understeering like mad...the rear was also "dancing" a little. great for daily street use....horrible for track.

i WAS on the hunt for KU36.. im sure uve heard of this tire and its feedback... unfortunately.. theyre impossible to find so im jumping ship to Federal 595 RS-R 205/50/15...should be decent...especially since WTAC lists these street tires as semi slicks gonna be using them for street and occasional track days.

Achilles ATR Sport is supposed to be pretty good performance wise.. a friend labeled them "cheap n cheerful"...the same dood oso mentioned that the tires will overheat in about 2-3 laps in SIC (he does about 2.4x laptime)...the threads also lasts super long... so long that ur recommended to change the tires by the time the threads reach 50% coz the rubber would have harden n could break at any time

u should look into RSR or R1R.. both have 140 threadwear...or u can look into KU36 (180 threadwear) if u can find them. ive posted prices for RSR and R1R 2 posts above urs

im getting the RSR this weekend coz my wife n baby sits in the car with me at times n the RSR is supposed to be better in the wet than the R1R...ill be getting them from racing art klang.. if u want, and if ur in shah alam, u can join me this saturday to go n get urs too...mebbe buy 8 pieces can get more discount (drop me a PM if ur interested)

and considering how often u change tires.. id strongly recommend getting another set of cheapo wheels with something like the ATR Sports for daily use and another set purely for track day....i plan on doing this... but gotta wait til i move in to my new house first.. right now no space to keep hahahha

R888 will be horrible for wet and wont have a very good threadwear...

the RSR is supposed to be 99% of R888's performance...based on the reviews i read online la... and as i mentioned WTAC lists them as semi slicks even though theyre street tires.

R1R are also supposed to be very good street/track day tires.... its basically a close fight between the R1R and RSR.

dont know about the ATR... never used them

n i hate soft sidewalls too..main reason why i was looking at the KU36 for its super stiff sidewalls... oh well.

where u got it so cheap? most are going for rm180 thereabouts.

do report back on the sidewall stiffness

yeah... if ur dealing with them through facebook.. make sure its one of the guys...the guys out there are friendly and very attentive...

but... im kinda pissed at Esther..one of the ladies there (who looks like she sits in the office most of the time)..... dealt with her over a period of a week thru facebook about a tire that needs to be ordered as they dont keep stock. anything i say her response is "okok" or i ask anything "u come here first la"... even asked her to check with supplier to make sure theres stock... and of course her response was "u come here first la"....

even after confirming a few days earlier.. even when i was on the way i whatsapp her saying i on the way... reached there... she didnt even tell any of the tire guys.. foremen etc etc...then the foremen called supplier n no stock... the foremen oso quite pissed that he wasnt informed earlier.... asked me to come again on tuesday and willing to gimme discount...but i couldnt

which means i had to rush and waste time hunting for the tires at another shop as i only had that one day to do it and it was already afternoon...i dont always have much free time to myself due to work n family commitments...


if u wanna deal with them.. best to go directly or ask simple questions about what they have in stock.
