I will look into that, although it is easy to fix the sync with Titanium backup..

So far what I can confirm (note to be change) for the upcoming release are :

- Tethering are support for both USB and WiFi (2.6.35.14 EA kernel version)
- Much more stable then the last version
- Much more detail power usage and compatibility (2.6.35.14 EA kernel version)
- Apks are zipalign to provide more memory efficient system environment
- Translucent status bar as default
- SD read ahead increase to more than 2048 (still testing to find that perfect balance)
- VM heap size will be larger, although not more then 64mb
- Tweaked Auto brightness
- Custom Launcher may or may not be use
- Overall UI changes (not in beta release if any) [may or may not be release for 1.2.0 update, maybe release in Gaia 2]
- Updated Adreno 200/205 driver and module
- New Splash (thanks terry@adroid for suggestions)
- Custom DPI tweak may or may not be implemented
- Roboto font as default
- Better hardware acceleration tweak in conjunction with new Adreno 200/205 module
- Updated su bin (update Superuser app are recommended after flash)
- Updated codec are included, fully support mx player (mx player will be a sys apk as a seperate ROM package download)
- and much more, note that features are note to change depending on final release

For now, there are no release date yet for both beta or final release (there may or may not be a beta release). I can assume that the ROM will be finished this month, depending on schedule smile.gif Hope all can wait till the release and keep up supporting this tiny little project icon_rolleyes.gif

Keep up the support by donating here user posted image for USD (international) or at the sig below for MYR (domestic) . Also follow me on twitter @_angelictears

Thanks again smile.gif

@angelictears

so far, all the list was superb, only one thing i dont agree is da word "thanks terry@android", there is no "thanks me" its "thank you". Thanks to you, for all da excellent work biggrin.gif

You can release it whenever u want, i ll will be waiting. Patience is virtue... isnt it.......maybe? more longer, more its excite u. make sure it will be supporting a2e or S2e, as for those who wanna partitioning their sd to be more larger, da guide to partition and installing s2e already been given in da earlier post, u can take it for granted, no sweat man. I bet its da same guide with ur next release rom. But i can make new guide if u wanted to. Juz ask.....

i think there something missing.....maybe.....not really sure what it is, but, if i get it, i ll tell u.

Anyway, thanks again for taking my selfish request for real.

Added on February 7, 2012, 12:57 amanyway, before releasing it, take my link to download da cm7.0.2.nbo and post it to ur together when u release, its for those who dont hav da nbo file, i will try to make it "flying" in mediafire for a while, well until it will be deleted by admin, i ll make sure it will be there, i see many people here doesnt hav da nbo file, its da main reason why they fail to update using zip or facing all da problem that should already be fixed.

Added on February 7, 2012, 1:10 ambout da sd read kb, i also trying to find da perfect balance for both read and write speed, it seems 3072, not really sure, but its da most perfect and balance r/rw speed, tested more than 50 times with class 4 and class 6 sd, but i still think 4096 is needed, 2048 already perfect for both but...... i prefer superior performance rather than stability. but there is no stability even its more superior isnt it, warrior without sword? thats surely wrong wink.gif

Ah! yeah, i already remember, its about battery, although u already know, but i will still ask, eventhou i already callibrate da battery not twice, but thrice after all da flashing, it seems when u charge it with sleep mode, da volt will be different, da green led doesnt sync with charging when u using da fone, test it more than 20 times, but i prefer charge it with sleep mode, da volt will jump to 4200+ (overcharge). even charging when u off da fone dont achieve that. Try to look into it

Again due to this matter, my project are somewhat on hold, but won't be stop as I need the donations (if any). But not to worry, I will still give the best android experience for users here and anywhere smile.gif

Been using this ROM for a week but I just noticed that when I tried to connect the phone via USB to a computer, the mount SD storage does prompt but after I choose mount,a few seconds later it unmount itself, thus I can't export any data to the SD card unless I use a memory card reader.
Is this a bug?

What kernel are you using? Cause USB connection are tightly integrated with the kernel. So most likely it's a kernel bug.

change da kernel, dont forget to wipe cache, default kernel contained in rom causing bug within da connection

Added on February 11, 2012, 11:59 pmwho still using aosp kernel nowadays? ubuntu da best

Added on February 12, 2012, 12:17 amTake back my word earlier, @angelictears, check this bug @markedone complaining, its not about da kernel, maybe its about kernel, but juz check about it.

@marked one
Try to change kernel first, if its occur again, juz wait for an answer as i still investigate about it, it seem ur fone need to wake all da time when connect using usb.

Definitely not driver fault as i also got that error using .32.9# all number kernel and .35.13 kernel now.

My result as for now, not all mi300 affect by that error as my friends fone dont exp that error.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I found out something weird but it managed to fix the problem somehow tongue.gif
First,I shut down the phone and pull out the battery for a few minutes (apart from the connection issue there is a problem with the wifi,it keeps turn off itself but doing this fixed the problem. )

Turned it on and I tried to connect the phone to my friend's laptop using his external hard disk cable. To my surprise,it connected and both phone and SD storage can be explored.
So I went back to my laptop and connect it using stock USB cable, the problem still persists.

But then,I noticed this 'USB Debugging' notification each time I connected the phone,I untick that thing (no idea what that thing does really tongue.gif ) and poof - I can connect the SD via phone, but ONLY the SD.Phone storage didn't show up though.I haven't the slightest idea what happened blink.gif

EDIT : Using the kernel that comes with the ROM - 2.6.32.9-SuperAosp

Hi, I am using the gaia 1.1.0. It is having compass issue on the wrong orientation of left and right which exist in older version of cm7 kernel.
Hope that you can fix it becoz this sensor issue cause the camera captured photo orientation is upside down when viewing the photo in landscape mode.

I noticed when I try to calibrate the sensor, the up and down water bubble is correct movement, but the left and right water bubble is moving opposite direction whenever I tilt my phone left or right sad.gif

It is a very fast rom so far compare to other rom, but only have this "black dot dust bug" that blocked a bit the shining bits of this rom !!!

@ Terry@android, @markedone

I will try to see if there's a bug in mounting section of the ROM.
Although as markedone said, he can connect the SD storage when USB debugging are off, as I already said for everyday usage, disable USB debugging if not need (you needed it only when making backup using Titanium backup or etc.). It is understandable for some phone USB connection are not stable when USB debugging are enabled. But not all as terry said, I myself doesn't really have a problem for USB mounting, for those who have problem, please disable USB debugging and test if it still problematic.

That said, Phone storage are not accessible using USB mounting. and that can't be change, although you can access phone storage with ADB if you really needed to change system area of the phone.

@Phenom Kuma

Try and flash to other kernel, so far I am using 2.6.35.14 EA kernel, you can find it in this thread page 25/26. Be sure to wipe dalvik and cache. I can rest assured that I will try to fix several bugs and make as perfect as it can biggrin.gif

Be sure to follow the flashing guide provided by terry@android in the development blog. smile.gif as most issue/error are caused by incomplete/wrong steps in flashing the ROM.

Updates about da bug, bout that debugging mode, totally forgot bout that, sorry, but as for my error, its not bout both kernel and debugging mode, but will solve as i flash it again, thou its a silly error make up by flashing, but it still an error, using this rom quite a while with updated adreno, 4096kb speed sd. Its quite troublesome to update those again, as for me. but its ok.

By da way, i found a really good setting, as my fone can play most HD games for superior fone. but its quite troublesome.

As i wanted ur opinion mr angelictears, how bout this:

updated adreno driver (really hard to adapt to ur rom smile.gif )
speed increase for all read ahead to 1024 but sd 4096
using s2e with 2gb ext + 512 swap mode
using swapper mode app to increase stability for swap
VM heap 48 mb with boosted ram up to 190mb with ram manager
ext been devide into two 512mb just for swap and 1.3gb for app, as movement of app to sd being restrain and revert back to ext.
internal storage reserve only for dalvik cache, all app but system (system data treated as private data) data goes to first ext as VM
using battery doctor for battery increase, now can play games up to 5 hours at least without stopping
as i only realize recently that all .32.9 kernel doesnt support charging limit system, remember bout charging prob i mention before? that the reason
changing to 2.6.35.13 kernel as .35.14 still not stable with wifi.
clearing system/app folder by uninstall and deleting trash apks that i dont use.
No oc but still can play 3D games. Zombies vs plant is a small matter now

Thats all, still waiting ur update on rom as u promised to updated da codec, thats da last item for me to improve on my cheap mi300, really tired to adapt all da setting back coz of one silly error. Now i will wait for ur opinion, give me feedback bout da pro and con but leave a matter "damaging ur sd" as i ll do anything for da sake of research as u are da dev here. and please, to anyone who wanna to try this setting, please make sure u knew what ur doing as i dont guaranteed it will work. But it work for me biggrin.gif

Thats conclude my update report. now i can go sit and relax and watch my anime, really tired finding this setting, and approved it safe to use. Its anime time! thumbup.gif

Juz follow da instruction on dev blog, either u mess up 1 guide or u just to lazy to follow all, that an ancient error that already been fixed, and again, i still will said it,

who da hell still using aosp kernel (abandoning update for their kernel, that one irresponsible dev)? go find edgar kernel. Ubuntu still da best.\

I heard cm will not update cm9 for this cheap fone, disappointing, that what i will said as they prioritize new fone, now its up to u to update it urself mr angelictears, i seen da private dev on xda for this fone, personally, i will help u with all i can, but i m not familiar with codes so if want any help that i can do, just ask it.

I've read it and I can say that it is a great idea, although stability and the chance with users who don't understand the inside of android may broke something is in question.

Nevertheless several idea will be included with in the next update. Gaia development mainly developed with stability in mind. Also finding the perfect setting balance for both new users, and pro users is still an objective. Again I want Gaia to work out of the box as not many users know perfectly about flashing and script installation.

VM heap size will be at 50mb as it is the perfect balance I tested so far, some app can use more that it should and depends on the VM heap size available as reported by Android system itself. So more than 50mb will result crash to home on certain app and games, as expected on low memory environment. I will however include RAM manager (free version) in sys apk. Several tweaks are remove as RAM manager does the same for the ROM.

Swapper 2 will also be included (if I can find the apk) for users convenient.

Internal system will also be a complete overhaul to maintain stability, the updated adreno driver will be modified a bit to maintain high performance with stability. Same as WiFi capability to be stable enough with the included proposed kernel, the 2.6.35.14 EA. Tight integration with several third party app such as swapper and RAM manager.

About the readahead, 4096 is a good value as SD card nowadays can handle that much cache. I will include that value on this next update. SD swap script will also overhaul to be faster without much strain to SD card.

I will look into the charging limit of the ROM, this is a delicate section where battery could be damage if overcharge. Still Android itself have a good battery management system given the right kernel installed. So that's an easy part (hopefully).

S2E, again this is one that I am still considering, as most users don't know how to maintain it and so far I could not find any stable script that I can use as different SD card brand reacts differently. However I can provide Link2SD as a sys app. It is still recommended by me as the apk are stored in ext3/4 fs, which still is better than CM/Android default app2SD.

ExDialer will also be included replacing the default phone.apk (miui look plus more features such as predictive dialing and less memory usage).

I've also planned to make a premium ROM exclusive for donating users. Again optional and and still in planning. Premium ROM will have all the tweaks that free version have, but more tightly integration with 3rd party app and revamp UI as a whole. Providing users with different experience that normal Android looks and feel.

I will continue on ICS development, but not as active as Gaia ROM both free and premium. I can however I am collecting donation for a second phone for development solely on ICS as I can't reflash my phone every day as I need a stable phone for work and stuffs. Nevertheless, that is if the donations are enough to buy a second phone, I am guessing it is easy enough as the phone price drops alot right now. I also accepting donations for other phone owner wanting to port Gaia ROM for their phone, so far the list of supported phones are the same as Cyanogenmod list of supported phones.

That said, I will try my best to make this little project stand out as best as I could in order to gain trust among users.

Actually i dont really recommend that u put all settings listed by me,into ur gaia, it juz i m asking ur opinion, da pro n con, thats all, but it seem like misunderstand occur here. Anyway thanks for ur reply smile.gif

Well, as now, is my opinion for ur GAIA, i dont really like if da new GAIA exceed all da limit in da list, i like it more simple, not for advance user or premium or free, or anything, da present GAIA is better, updated adreno n increasing sd cache prefereble.

My opinion is, do not put any extra application (free or premium app) for da next release for public (for premium is ur choice, its ur rom after all), if anyone desire any setting to fit their user, juz ask me or u here, and i will gladly help, but if u do all da thing for us, we will be lazy to "improve" (i would prefer da word "coward", but thats too rude), any app can be found or buy, its a matter of want or not, thats all.

So, please dont restrain urself, juz make it as simple as possible, no need to improve anything that not necessary. And thanks a lot for ur explanation, and i m sorry coz i m not listed in one of ur donater, as i m only working by myself, my company went bankrupt last year so i m quite struggling to live, luckily i m still not married smile.gif

Anyway, still waiting on ur release, glad if i can be any help.

Added on February 14, 2012, 2:02 amand if anyone here desire to make their fone better, juz ask, or learn urself, learning really fun if u know how.

actually no current perfect guide for this one, i just copy these file into system egl. No guarantee it will work, i myself try almost 30+ times with mostly failed, so i dont really recommend to do it,but u free to try, u can google da file by typing da name or extract it from edgar rom. da path of da files already given below, but remember, if something wrong, dont blame me.

/system/lib/egl/libeEGL_adreno200.so libGLEsv1_CM_adreno200.so
libGLESv2_adreno200.so
libq3dtools_adreno200.so

/system/lib/

/system/etc/firmware/

why dont u just wait for mr angelictears updated rom, its already on de edge, confirmly it will release soon, i will giv da guide n all apk if u choose to use ur fone as psp or gaming purpose, but i need to test it first before confirming.

Added on February 16, 2012, 4:44 pmforgot to say, if u failed, bootloop or no reboot and fone hanging will occur.

if success, try to quadrant, u ll see da 2d performance will reach 32-40 fps (second simulation) and 3d will reach 20fps (second simulation) at its max.

it will allow u generate higher vram on ext for gaming purpose, so 3d games(only hvga, only certain hd games with high performance can play as hd need more than 35+ fps to operate) can be play without even oc. i already given da guide to do gaming mode before so u need to back to da past wink.gif

as i said before trying, dont be stingy, go buy urself class 6 or clasd 10 sd with higher capacity, maybe it ll cost u a lot, but as long as u keep da receipt, u juz need to claim for new if its broken. and can be used to all device nowadays, its a great bargain isnt it?
