QUOTE(terry@android @ Oct 27 2011, 12:42 AM) hi and thanks to angelictears Yup, you are right. I flash directly to cm7.1 stable and flash again to MyGingerB now the orientation problem solved. Thanks for the advice.juz 4 info, been using this rom for a while, but never got problem like u guys say,are u all sure u flash this rom properly? bout the camera, eventhough rom or apps support zooming, clearly mi300 only has webcam,so zooming is not recommended(confirmed by csl and spice) bout the wifi,if u guys use it while charging( not recommended) mi300 will got a problem with wifi.but if u're a extreme wifi user, switching from AOSP to ubuntu is the solution. bout the kernel,i believe AOSP allow overclock up to 800 mhz,but considering mi300, overclock over 700 is far than more for an extreme user.so if u treasure ur fone, think b4 overclocking. bout the orientation or problem right after flashing, try flash ur rom from cm7.1 stable(see boston mania),everytime i try flash from phantom or stock rom.problems will occur with this rom.and dont forget to reset, clear dalvik cache and clear cache partition b4 flashing, and of course battery stat.using kernel from cm eav 6 kernel also recommended. all i'm saying here is juz 4 info,no offense to anyone.i been using at least 6 different roms with record of 60 times flashing/updating roms(especially cm mod),problem only occur if u guys mess up while flashing.so please read carefully b4 flashing, and 4 angelictears, please give a complete guide here on how to flash ur rom starting from stock rom and modified rom. anyway thanks again for ur wonderful rom,i been searching for a lite rom like urs for my mi300.keep up ur work and i ll be cheering on u |

QUOTE(misterjoji @ Oct 31 2011, 12:02 AM) @angelictears, just a thought, would it be possible to fix the axis inversion issue on our beloved spice.. and some more, could you point out some tutorial on basic android kernel development. i am very interested in cooking my own rom but no idea where to start. I've been working on it for several weeks now, but still, with limited resources, I can't do much, although I will try my best. In theory it can work, how ever not all devices are the same, even with the same digitizer, the controller are different as far as I know, although I could be wrong. I will look into it some more some link on touchscreen fix on optimus one... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933686 ive read somwhere that both use same digitizer It is easy enough to start cooking your own ROM with a few of good online ROM kitchen out there, although if you are into compiling from source code (hardest method to cook a ROM), you can start from reading the Cyanogenmod wiki here. Do also note that compiling kernel is a different project, you can read it here. Note that you will need at least basic java and C programming language, a stable Linux working box (Ubuntu recommended) on either Virtual Machine (such as VirtualBox) or on 2nd partition (you will need windows), although I do recommend installing your linux box on 2nd partition, saves more time when compiling, you'll also need Eclipse IDE with JDK 6 installed. Do note that source code for kernel and the ROM itself can easily reach 17GB in total, with 3 - 4 GB of initial download when setting up your repo, That doesn't include the extra 4GB of space when compiling the ROM. I also recommend you to learn more about recovery mode installation script, APK structure and even the basic in init.d script (linux basics) for proper android setting that you'll need for your ROM, Owh, basic photoshop can also help you with resource manipulation, such as theming/skinning your ROM Hope to see you developing your own ROM soon This post has been edited by angelictears: Oct 31 2011, 03:22 AM |

Wow did not expect you'd reply me with that detailed explanation. Thanks!
I am veeery interested in android development be it from app dev or OS dev itself but did not have the reason to up until now where i got 2 android devices (viewpad 10s and our beloved mi300 hehe) that needs tweaking in the kernel level so that the hardware can be fully utilized. I envy your dedication and your time lol. thanks again ;P |

Just a question, I need to re-flash back to stock again because I couldn't connect to network, but SUT doesn't recognize my phone any longer and says not connected. Any idea how to proceed from here? Thanks |

QUOTE(doidoi @ Nov 1 2011, 01:49 AM) Nice Hmm, if you put the phone in download mode (End call + Vol up + power), and you have the necessary driver for your pc, then SUTLR will automatically detect your phone. I just tested with my phone just now, and SUTLR can detect my phone. Try to connect the phone before/after running SUTLR, also make sure SUTLR running as admin.Just a question, I need to re-flash back to stock again because I couldn't connect to network, but SUT doesn't recognize my phone any longer and says not connected.
