about 3 - 4 years ago i would say yes, without a doubt. but nowadays he struggles a bit, and that dreaded age factor is really coming into play because a lot of his game depends on strength. and sometimes being too 'strong' can also go against u, as refs will have this notion that since you're big, so you're supposed to stay up no matter what. as a result, players get away with much more excessive force against u, and it gets frustrating sweat.gif

In a subsequent game against Chelsea, JT tried intimidating Torres again but the Spanisrd stood his ground, not backing up an inch. Instead he looked right back at Terry. Wonder if they're best buds now.

Thanks but I think you're giving me too much credit here. All I want is to emulate those at the Kop week in, week out.

Probably more than friends eh? JT is probably at his house whenever FT is away for international duty.. whistling.gif

Anyways, happy belated bday duke..

Earlier in his Chelsea career, he went down a little too easy for my taste and he would be writhing in agony most of the time. I remember a commentator going on about how maybe he has a low threshold for pain. It got so bad that even the Stamford Bridge faithful would boo him. Gotta give credit where it's sue though, he cleaned up his act and won the fans over again, I just hope Suarez does the same and stops remonstrating so much as well. Even I get annoyed by his antics.

I like your confidence but fans must bare in mind that we have Chelsea at SB before we host City at Anfield. Two must win game for us.

Fingers crossed..

Just to share with everyone...

We have been justifiably criticised for not being clinical enough in front of goal throughout this season, with having scored only 14 goals this campaign. Consequences of the lack of goals include Kenny Dalglish's side hovering outside the top four in sixth place, and looking unlikely to qualify for the Champions League at the moment.

So, what to do?

Goals win games, wins earn points, points earn league positions. So, try and score more goals. The question is, how? There's no doubt we are capable. Chance creation is not a problem when you look at the midfield consisting of Steven Gerrard, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing.

Even the much criticised Jordan Henderson has the ability to create chances, the former Sunderland man came in the top three players in the league for chance creating passes. I think many would agree that it's the finishing that's the problem. Andy Carroll has missed quite a few 'sitters' this season that have cost Liverpool three points. Swansea and Norwich spring to mind.

Luis Suarez, too, has found it difficult to find the net, though it's not through the want of trying. In fact, frustratingly for Liverpool, goalkeepers seem to find their best form against Liverpool. So, create more chances, and score more goals. The formation Liverpool have been using thus far has been a versatile 4-4-2; but I would prescribe Liverpool a more attacking 4-3-3 formation, especially for home games.

If I were manager of Liverpool, it would look something like this:

--------------------------------Reina-------------------------------

Johnson-------Carragher----Agger-------Jose Enrique-

-------------------------------Lucas---------------------------------

-----------------Gerrard--------------Adam----------------------

--Bellamy-------------------------------------------Downing-----

-----------------------------Suarez----------------------------------

The back four for me is pretty standard, and well balanced. Lucas would provide cover and allow Steven Gerrard and Charlie Adam to pull the strings in attack. Bellamy and Downing would provide us with a bit of pace and energy up front, and Suarez would be there to finish moves off. Obviously this is all hypothetical. So, that's the formation, here's hoping chances would be created. However, they still have to be put away, but there's nothing we can do about that. Fans and pundits can bemoan bad finishing all they like, but it won't change anything.

No chances are the same. The ball may bounce differently or travel at different speeds. The positioning of the striker may vary. Defenders may vary. Goalkeeping quality will change. So, don't be too critical of the strikers. Of course, if it's an open goal or something like that you are entitles to be angry, but I would argue that goal scoring is about 50 percent luck and 50 percent skill. Let's just hope that luck goes Liverpool's way soon, seeing as, statistically, we are the most 'unlucky' team in the Premier League.

Also, to try and increase the likelihood of scoring goals, I would play Dirk Kuyt a tad more often. He is a proven finisher, 9/10 when the ball falls to him in the penalty area the result is a goal. Play him, not Carroll.

So, that's what I would do to increase the chance of scoring. Adopt a more attacking formation, use Dirk Kuyt and get lucky

i dont think downing's current form warrants him a starting 11 position.

i rather bellamy on the left and kuyt on right.

we might end up with nobody in the box when it matters. bellamy on the left, kuyt on the right. pace of downing after 60-70min since he havent been effective if he starts anyway

fingers crossed carra wont be doing mistakes or outpaced. but his experience would be priceless especially in such big games. if not, start kelly alongside agger. we do need a goa scoring cb

taking into account of dailymail's writings, you mean MU players call one of their own with "N" word?

if you admit, as in MU admit it officially, then Suarez is as 'guilty' as such.

Until it is proven it is a N word.

From what I interpret, it is a word commonly used in South America but offensive in England. But not revealed what word is that.

I'll give a simple analogy. If the word b**** or ******* is common and isn't that offensive in the US so we are freely to use the word even in any other countries?

Look, initially, Suarez claimed that he didn't say anything offensive to Evra. Now, he is claiming that the word isn't offensive in South America yet it is in England or just about in any country. So, who's lying again? Evra is lying?

if suarez really said something offensive, then the whole MU team should also be charged because saying the exact same word to evra daily.
