I thought Maybank's minimum requirement to get its entry level credit card was always 30k per annum unlike other banks' which used to be at 18k - 24k pa?
*
Prior to BNM ruling, one could still get a CC from MBB when they earn less than RM24K.

BTW, I get my  SCB credit card centre SMS alert notification for every transaction  above RM 500 usage but not for  MBB.
*
Just like what chem mentioned, I guess SCB has started the sms notifications. But RM500 is too high in my opinion. Maybe that's why most of the scams reported are for transactions amounting to RM499.

hi guys,

just a quick question here. i have got the 2 cards with 2 supplementary cards as well. then only i found out that i have to pay the gov tax for both the supplementary cards (amex & master). the single gov tax is only for principal holder.
*
if you had read the ist page FAQ post#2, you would have known that GST is imposed onto each supp card.

my statement date is 26 November 2011.
this is my 1st statement, so i'm not sure where can those cash rebate. so mean that i have to pay the full amount that i spent (not amount - cash rebate)?
*
Wait for your paper statement and pay the amount stated in it. With time you'll understand the M2U "Pay Now" and "Outstanding Balance".

When did you apply? I think now no more like that. They've tightened up.
*
Yes, they have tightened up. Guys, you all have to remember, besides annual income, for those earning RM36K or less, one can only hold credit cards from 2 different banks. If you guys don't pay income tax, straight away I will conclude it means you earn less than RM36K/year. So, I would think for those having more than cards from 2 different banks and have BE form to proof your income is more than RM36K, than not an issue.

I complaint an MBB front desk staff for asking me to go back and photocopy my IC.
Hello ! I came here to give you business u know? This is the way MBB treats customer ?
*
Yah, they should photocopy our IC, where got people bring photocopy of IC to bank for opening account or applying for credit card. The person who asked you to go photostat your IC must be thinking he is working in a government department.

Ok , let me update my case first.  laugh.gif

This evening around 5.30PM , a person called Ms Yati , she said she from MBB HQ KL. Asking me to explain the story to her again and after I explained, she keep apologize on behalf of that jerk who don't give me a good service. Then she said she will investigate. Another 30 minutes, another person called, She is Ms Audra and she said she is MBB 1UTama Branch Manager, she also listen to my same story and she also keep say sorry. That is not the way of customer service. At last I know the person name but I don't know I shall announce here or not. She said she will help me to do 2nd appeal and see how. If not success,I just wait. At least all MBB staff call me,all also talk politely and the branch manager somemore can joke with me. Not bad.. I definite will go back to her if I need MBB stuff.
*
I don't think it is necessary to mentioned the guy's name here. What is important is that you complained thru the proper channel and got an immediate response from MBB reps where they have apologized to you.

if this watch is the one in the brochure, its price is RM99 according to eWatchZone.
14,200 TP is approximately equivalent to RM71.
So I think it's worth.
*
wah less than RM99 for a casio watch with metal strap and date. I also think it is worth it.

last year still dont have mbb2 AMEX cards yet. plus last year promotion already gave them a lot of headache, lots of customer complained they didnt received the cashback although they did register and spent during promotion period
*
I don't think MBB will ever again have RM150 cash back promo, if they do, it will only be applicable to AMEX AMEX and sure not for MBB 2 AMEX.

Actually the previous AMEX promo with RM150 cap per month really good compare to other banks' cash back promo where they only allow RM50 for the entire duration.

Congrats on the iPad2 !!! iPad 3 coming soon  wub.gif  wub.gif
I did the same also to redeem a iPod Touch at Harvey Norman ;-)

If only Parkson sells Apple products...Parkson RM50 voucher is available at lower point redemption (RM50 = 9300 TreatsPoints)
*
Wise men think alike tongue.gif Actually few months back wanted to redeem voucher at Harvey Norman to get the iPod Touch too but they no stock so got it at Machines and use MBB 2 AMEX to get 5X TP, now price drop mad.gif

For those wanting to get Apple or other electronic stuff, for Harvey Norman you only need 9700TP = RM50 and they have promo now, spend RM1K and above get to guarantee win RM20 minimum to RM1K. Click here to read how I only paid RM999 for Apple iPad2 at Harvey Norman.

iPad3, next Spring or Summer I guess.

The best so far was I redeem Metro Jaya RM50 x 3 vouchers early this year for 8000TP/voucher. My wife has yet to use them.

Agree, one can get SII cheaper with mobile phone dealers BUT they don't accept AMEX, haha. Don't know when kwokwah bought the SII, but price have dropped significantly since Samsung Note was launched. Anyway, all of you guys wanting to buy phones at SenQ or Courts, always check out the market price first at LYN Garage.

QUOTE(zap188 @ Dec 9 2011, 10:11 PM)
For the past week, I have 2 unauthorised transactions charged to my AMEX card. One RM 827 from AirAsia that was posted when I checked M2U online transaction. The other one was alerted by the CS that one RM 31,000 online transaction from Netherlands was made. The second one was not posted. Immediately my card was suspended and was asked to collect the replacement card 2 days later. I was shocked as 31K is a very big amount, almost max out my CL. Been using credit cards for so many years and have yet to face such fraudulent transaction.

I was asked to submit my dispute form for the first transaction only after I received the statement and that would only be at the end of this month. My question is would this be too late?
*
I guess the fraud cases must be rampant, that's why Miles informed us that we have to call CS to perform online transactions. For me, it is not much of a problem calling the CS since I don't often transact online with my AMEX.

I had called AMEX CS just now as I want to pay ACCA annual fees online. The CS said that just need to call 1 time only to update our mobile phone no so that they can call us if there is any suspicious transaction. Don't need to call them every time doing online transaction.  cool2.gif
*
This is what I was trying to point out in my other posts, what if our phone is switched off and the transaction was approved since we did not notify MBB that a fraud was in progress whereas MBB have notify us.

Again i must call Maybank to open the line for paypal with Amex. Dunno if happy or frustrated with this security feature  doh.gif

I guess for now we have to just bear with it. I am sure MBB and AMEX are working on a security feature as it would be wasting lots of MBB resources with current method.
