Am i in danger?

Was trying to pay something thru paypal with my Amex but it fail so i called MBB CS.
That fella ask for my card number, then subsequently ask for the 4 digit 'security code'.
I asked why the security code, he replied 'to check'.
After i provided the number... somehow the line got cut off after a little while. (Is this normal? Asking for security code?)

I called back shortly after and this time it is another CS that answered, she enable the online transaction without asking for my security code.

This makes me wonder why the hell that fella ask for my security code
*
I have never been asked security code by any CS. And when you call the second time, why you did not ask the CS is it normal?

1st time when i called i was driving and lazy to call back after the call was disconnected.
Later when i called back, i just reached restaurant for dinner and my gf was bugging me with what to order.. so didn't really come into my mind. It was during the dinner and after processing my paypal transaction only I started to wonder about it.

haha, so it's your GF's fault that you may be in "danger" now. Next time, when you call any CS, get his/her name. And to answer your question, call CS now and ask them is it normal to ask for security code.

I think people are confused between buying stuff using CC through the phone and calling MBB CS for an issue. When buying stuff, getting asked for the CVV number is normal. When calling CS, this question should never arise.
*
Not confused, they never read properly.

Guys,

Let say i buy somehing at rm100 using cc, then i pay immediately right after i get back home on the aame day, will i earn threat points?
*
Bro, are you serious in asking above question? Tell me why you think you won't get the Treats Points?

Can i use the amex to autodebit the monthly payment of prudential insurance? Then got additional charges or not?
Currently the monthly payment is autodebit through my saving account and  will charge RM 1 for each transaction.
*
like pspfan mentioned No for AMEX but Yes for Visa or MasterCard. And you get to earn 1X treats points too with the Visa or MC.

Not entirely relevant but to those who shop at Tesco, if u spend >RM100 this weekend, you'll get a RM10 voucher (All Tesco's) and 2 RM2.50 vouchers (Only certain Tesco's). That'll give you essentially 22.5 % returns if you were to spend RM100 with your M2Amex at Tesco this weekend !

P/S: You need to have a Tesco ClubCard to get the vouchers
*
Yah, I swipe 3 times yesterday at TESCO. Got RM30 vochers smile.gif Bought 10 packs of Malboro for RM100, got RM10 voucher and with the MBB 2 AMEX another "RM7.50", so a pack of Malboro cost me only RM8.25 smile.gif

Just get my MBB 2 cards(mastercard as i request) =)

This is my first credit card, want to ask i need to have a 3/4 digits for online transaction right ? (not the 3/4 digit on the card itself)

how to get that?

and i need to sign behind the card right ?
*
For AMEX it is the 4 digit in front of the card. For MasterCard/Visa it is the 3 digit (also known as CCV) beside where you are to sign. And yes, sign behind both cards immediately.

last time when i hvn get my credit card, i use my sis card to buy AA ticket. I key in all info from the card, include the ccv, but after that still need to enter a 3-4 digit code, that code is not on the card.

my question is how to get that code ?
*
OIC, nowadays for online transaction with Visa/MC, a One Time Password will be sent to your phone. AMEX don't have such feature. Guys, correct me if I am wrong.

Is the 10K TP GST offset is available today?
I asked at 2 different MBB branches in Dec2012, but their answers were negative.
*
Please call CS to confirm yourself. Why ask the branch? They are not card centre. Most card issuers have this option too.

We talking about Maybankard 2 Cards where previously some received invitation for pre-approved MBB 2 Cards that comes with 10K TP. Lately no one has reported they got such invitation.

have you redeem the GST with your treat points before paying rm50?
*
sometimes, in order to avoid late payment/interest charges, we may need to pay the RM50 first even tho we have requested for it to be offset with our Treats Points because they cannot update it fast enough in the system before the next statement is generated.

Errm..just wanna ask something here....I wish to apply for this maybankard 2 gold card.....and I read from the blog that the fastest way to get the card is going to 1U Maybank Card center....Do I still need to provide all the details mention even though I'm a maybank2u user??
*
If you are a Maybankard Credit Card holder, just go to Maybankard Centre at 1U and tell them you want to get the Maybankard 2 Cards and give them your IC and they can check from the system. You then just have to fill a simple form and sign on it. No need to bring any documents (unless you have not updated your income info as requested by the banks - Association Banks of Malaysia's Announcement)

If you are a M2U user BUT don't have a Maybank credit card, then yes, you need to fill in standard application form and provide all the necessary documents for MBB staff to evaluate your application.

just came back frm maybank. credit card officers insists that supp cards oni pays rm25 for the 2  cards. confused?o_O
*
That is correct.

Principal for both AMEX and Visa/MC only a single RM50 GST.

Supp Cards RM25 for AMEX plus RM25 for Visa/MC = RM50.
