MSOS has indeed been replaced according to a notice posted on Maybank website. On websites that provide Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode service, Maybank will send you an SMS containing a 6-digit PIN whenever you use your Maybankard VISA or MasterCard.

That's very typical of Maybank. My first MBB2 statement was sent to my old house which i already moved out from 3 years ago despite that i already gave them my current home address when i applied for MBB2

Not really actually. It happened to me once. However, as this payment was done in a foreign country, refund is still automatic but could be longer (last time Citibank told me it could take about 2 weeks) but rest assured that if they really have canceled that payment, money will definitely be refunded to your account and you do not have to dispute the transaction.

Yes. Just call Maybank and this problem will be solved. Happened to me about two weeks ago. The reason is because Maybank has blocked your AMEX for all online transaction.

Supposedly yeah. 6-month to be exact but some did successfully appeal for their application. Normally calling the CS won't help. Some people email the Maybankard centre directly and request them to re-look their application. I did this for my mom a few months ago. It was for OCBC Titanium MasterCard and she received an sms from OCBC just one day later after i wrote to OCBC requesting them to reconsider their decision.

To be safe, do it only on Saturday evening. Anyway, Amazon will only bill your credit card when your order is ready to be shipped. So even if you place your order on Saturday evening, you may not be billed until a few days later and there goes your 5% weekend cash rebate + 5xTP.


You can't expect them to reply your queries right away. They do get a lot of emails everyday.

Anyway, i've written to them many times and they always replied me. Sometimes it took 2 days and sometimes a bit longer.

Because if you do it in the midnight, it still is Friday in the US East Coast. And there is no guarantee that they will process your card right away. As i said in my previous post, they will only verify your credit card when you place the order but it won't be charged until the parcel is ready to be shipped out. Assume that you place your order on Saturday midnight (Malaysia time) but they only ship your parcel out on Monday evening (US time), there is a big chance that the transaction date will appear as Monday depends on when Amazon charge your credit card.

Not quite true. Amazon does ship parcels out on the weekends and they do sometimes charge your credit card on either Saturday or Sunday. Many or my orders from Amazon were actually shipped out on Sunday and my credit card too was billed on the same day. See below :

No. It doesn't work like that. You need to pay your credit card bill in order to continue using your credit card. You said that you almost use up the credit limit right ? Well, you may continue to use your credit card until your credit card outstanding balance hits RM5k, then you won't be able to use your card again. It still won't change next month unless you pay up (be it in full or just partially).

For MAS online booking, one needs to use it on Saturday morning so that the transaction date will be recorded as a transaction made on Saturday.


Paypal is 14 hours behind us. So, in order for a payment made through Paypal to be recorded as a transaction made on Saturday, one can only pay through them starting at 4pm (GMT +8) on Saturday.


No one can confirm you this. If you refer to my previous post, all the shipments were shipped out on Sunday but all the orders were actually placed on the weekdays. If you still decide to use your MBB2 AMEX to pay for your order at Amazon, the risk is all yours to bear. Good luck!

Do mind that the weekend 5% rebate is pooled together for principal and supplementary card holders. So it is advisable to get your own principal MBB2 instead.
