Wanna ask about MSOS.

What's the difference between these 2:

1. Enrolling your cards in the MSOS

2. MSOS Code sent to mobile phones.
Only option 2 is available since... erm... like a month or two ago.

QUOTE(Aurora Boreali @ Nov 16 2011, 07:31 PM)
So online shopping at participating merchants will make you type your SecureCode/Verify by Visa passwords and then you'll have to enter MSOS codes sent to the phone as well?
You do not need to set up a SecureCode/Verified by VISA password for Maybankard MasterCard/VISA anymore. The password is now the MSOS code sent to your mobile phone.

i can use the TP to offset all 4 cards GST rite? so no problems as we will hav much TP as we intends only use this and ditch our other cards  biggrin.gif as currently she is using supp cards from my principal ac's too
Principal + 1 supplementary for MBB2, you need to pay only 3 credit card tax. And bear in mind that the 5% weekend rebate limit is shared between the principal and supplementary card holder. And yes, you can use the TP to redeem the credit card tax.

This understanding is not quite correct. Some amount is only held for transactions at the pump because there is no way to tell in advance the purchase amount. The amount also differs for different banks and petrol retailers. Transactions at the counter for a specific amount is treated exactly like any other retail transaction.
The amount hold if you swipe your card at the pump is standardized at RM200 per authorization as far as i am concerned.

I should ask you to quote source but then you might ask the same of me.  biggrin.gif

The next time you swipe at the pump, quite a lot of pumps will display the maximum amount allowed for the transaction at the display where they used to be able to press amounts manually. If you come across such a pump, observe the amount and you will see it's usually not RM200 and will typically change if you use cards from different issuers.
I wasn't aware of this. I found out this a few years ago through debit card and the bank's CS. Back then the hold amount was just RM150. And these are the banks which i have used their debit/credit cards at the pump > Public Bank, Maybank, OCBC, Citibank, HSBC and RHB Bank. All holds RM200/authorization.

If I already have an OCBC Titanium Card (which I applied using FD a year ago) with a credit limit of RM5000, will i be able to apply for this Maybank 2 card by just using my OCBC card?

My payment record for my OCBC all this while quite good which mean no delay in payment and always on time.

Any advice?
No. You can't because this is a secured credit card and Maybank will find out through CCRIS. Besides, Maybank has stopped accepting fresh credit card application simply by attaching your existing credit card from another bank that you've been using for more than 12-month as reference for a few months already.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Nov 22 2011, 08:38 PM)
why I never received sms from OCBC when I transact with it?
Me too!

can we get the RM50 GST waived by writing a letter to them?
It's a waste of time. So don't bother.

The Starbucks 10% offer I got is from April this year where I didn't use the card for the first 2 weeks after obtaining it. They sent a postcard saying that if I use RM 50 and above within X number of days, I will get the voucher. This is like 6 months ago laugh.gif
Oh, so that's the one ? My mom received the same card too and i just remembered about this offer a few days ago. Told my mom i will help her to write in and file a complaint. Well, will wait for a few more days then biggrin.gif

QUOTE(tifosi @ Nov 25 2011, 10:06 AM)
Check the exchange rate different. You may lose the exchange rate conversion cause Paypal gives pretty low conversion rate from USD back to MYR. The rate I usually get is 0.1 lower than what they advertised on XE.com.
MBB2 rate is even lower biggrin.gif

plan to get myself the maybank 2 card.. seem like platinum card offer much better benefit compare to gold.. does the platinum card has any cons compare to gold? like higher annual fees/min swipe per month/etc?
All MBB2 Cards are absolutely free for life. Platinum MBB2 comes with complimentary travel insurance while Gold MBB2 doesn't but there is where the difference ends.

QUOTE(shadow111 @ Nov 27 2011, 09:35 PM)
can i know whether the annual fees and GST can be waived for it? thanks.
No

Just remember that cash rebate has been credited yesterday, quickly went and checked before Maybank is down for its daily 1 hour maintenance. RM 14.14. laugh.gif Still better than none, I didn't get any rebate for months already. sweat.gif
I accidentally charged more than RM1,000 to my card on the weekends last month and my mom charged just about RM350+ to her MBB2 AMEX. Should have used her card instead doh.gif

QUOTE(jchong @ Dec 7 2011, 06:05 PM)
1. Seems to me the best benefit is the 5x TP when using the Amex card. So of course the idea is to use the Amex as much as possible. Is this 5x TP applicable with any spending, incl petrol, utilities autopay, etc?
Yes. Everything.

QUOTE(jchong @ Dec 7 2011, 06:05 PM)
2. Next benefit is the 5% Weekend cash back when spend on Maybankard 2 American Express Card capped at RM50 per customer per month. Is this applicable with any purchase at any store? In Malaysia only or also includes overseas/internet transactions? This 5% weekend cash back is on top of the usual 5x TP right?
In Malaysia as well as overseas and internet transactions. And yes, you'll still get the usual 5xTP on top of the 5% weekend cash rebate.

To all Maybankard holders out there, Maybank just adopted a new policy regarding online transaction today. Starting today, you will need to call Maybank before making any online transaction using your AMEX so that they can open the line for you or else, your card will not go through. Just happened to me. Not too sure about Maybankard VISA/MC though.

QUOTE(zap188 @ Dec 9 2011, 10:11 PM)
For the past week, I have 2 unauthorised transactions charged to my AMEX card. One RM 827 from AirAsia that was posted when I checked M2U online transaction. The other one was alerted by the CS that one RM 31,000 online transaction from Netherlands was made. The second one was not posted. Immediately my card was suspended and was asked to collect the replacement card 2 days later. I was shocked as 31K is a very big amount, almost max out my CL. Been using credit cards for so many years and have yet to face such fraudulent transaction.
My guess is that you are not the only unfortunate one ? There has got to me many people affected that they just have to take such a drastic measure to make us to call them before making any online transaction.

QUOTE(zap188 @ Dec 9 2011, 10:11 PM)
I was asked to submit my dispute form for the first transaction only after I received the statement and that would only be at the end of this month. My question is would this be too late?
No. It's not too late. Happened to me twice (Citibank & HSBC) and i only submitted the dispute form after my statement came out.

I had called AMEX CS just now as I want to pay ACCA annual fees online. The CS said that just need to call 1 time only to update our mobile phone no so that they can call us if there is any suspicious transaction. Don't need to call them every time doing online transaction.  cool2.gif
*
Oh, is it ? Will try later. Gonna buy something using my AMEX online again.

I just sent a payment through Paypal using my MBB2 AMEX and the payment did indeed go through without me having to make a call to Maybank.

Just call the telephone number stated at the back of your card.

Just to share, I booked flight ticket from MAS online website last weekend. Paid using MBB-2-Amex. No calls, nothing. Check today at M2u online, transaction went through.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Maybe this is true, as I've done online transactions previously with this MBB-2-Amex  hmm.gif

I've used my MBB2 AMEX many times over the internet (mainly to book tickets on MAS website) but they just suddenly blocked my MBB2 AMEX for online use last Saturday.
