Neither. The other 4-digit.

i'm not asking which credit card to choose, but HOW to apply for the cards, since one the best cards out there seems to be these cards

salary credited through the same bank,

even with the bank manager's recommendation, the application still got stuck at the you-need-a-15k-fd-for-the-card stage

hm...
Ignore the invitation letter and apply it directly with Maybankard Centre and see how it goes. Print the application form online and fax it to them. You need to earn at least:
RM30k/pa for a Gold MBB2
&
RM60k/pa for a Platinum MBB2

Is there any winner for the Maybank Contest (Iphone 4s) and American Express Contest (RM100) ? Never hear any news on it...
No news on it yet... not sure they will only notify the winners after the campaign has ended or what...

my tax-chargeable income is >60k p.a.... yet i still have to make an fd... aiseh...

seems to be the new ruling
It has nothing to do with the new ruling.

Maybankard having issues. Cannot check via M2U. Called CS and they said cannot use the card temporary until issue resolved. Anyone facing the same thing?

I used my card at SHELL this morning and did not face any problem. So i guess my M2U is fine too.

QUOTE(epie @ Jan 21 2012, 11:51 AM)
any of u know whether i can get this card within 1hour in melaka?
It's only available at select Maybankard centre/branches in KL/Selangor.

By the way, i used my MBB2 AMEX to pay for my tickets on Dragonair on 14th Jan 2012 (Saturday) around 1am and it was posted to my account just two days ago. The transaction date is recorded as 13th Jan 2012 even though it was already 14th Jan 2012, much to my dismay as i was hoping to reach my 5% weekend rebate in just one use vmad.gif vmad.gif

Happen to me once with MAS. Now I buy my tickets in the evening of Saturday >.>
I've experienced it once too with MAS. Didn't expect the same thing will happen to Dragonair too vmad.gif

Do you mind checking whether that DragonAir transaction is considered foreign or local transaction? You can see based on the two letter country code at the end of the description
It is considered as local transaction. Tickets were booked through Dragonair's Malaysia website. See below:

I've used my MBB2 AMEX only once at Magellen Hotel to buy some cakes this month's weekend!!! vmad.gif

That's strange. Hong Kong is the same time as Malaysia. By the way did you book your tickets in Malaysia?
Yes. I did and i received the confirmation email from Dragonair around 1.15am on 14th Jan 2012 (Saturday). The eTickets were sent to me around 2.00am on the same day.

Before i book the ticket, i found through Cathay Pacific website that all online payments are monitored and processed by their office in Hong Kong. So i was so confident that the transaction date will be recorded as 14th Jan 2012, not 13th Jan 2012 vmad.gif

By the way, i just found out that Cathay Pacific (since 1998) and Dragonair (since 2007) are using the global payment and electronic services from JPMorgan which probably is the reason why transaction made in the midnight is still recorded as transaction made on the previous day. But still, if the payment is processed by JPMorgan office in Hong Kong, they should just follow the Hong Kong's time! vmad.gif

I guess the transaction must be processed through the JPMorgan HQ in US, just like what happened to all my transactions with PayPal. Next time you could try booking tickets on Saturday evening or Sunday.
For Paypal, we need to use it from 2pm everyday. Any payments made before 2pm everyday (GMT +8) will be recorded as payments made in the previous day.

I helped my mom to redeem two RM50 Guardian vouchers before Chinese New Year and she received the vouchers last Friday (3rd December 2012). Instead of two RM50 vouchers, she was given ten RM10 vouchers which is a good thing actually. But guess what ? The vouchers will be expired at the end of next month doh.gif

I checked Paypal's website just now to see if there are any settings for conversion. Didn't find any.

From my past experience any transaction which goes through Paypal, they will do the conversion (and Paypal's rate has always been worse). I don't think Paypal allows the banks to do it otherwise Paypal loses out on their fees.
zenquix is right. If you choose to pay using VISA or MasterCard, there is an option to pay in MYR (using Paypal's rate) or to pay in the billing currency on the final checkout page.
