Yes its normal nowadays when u trying open bank account that not near to your ic address. So far, all my bank account opening require employment letter to proceed.

some time last year or maybe 2019, they don't. they told me want to expand customer base. but when i asked again this year, back to company letter.

HLB provide the online account opening service.
the process is pretty simple without stepping out from the house.

I have RHB credit card first, then with the CC I managed to open online banking. After few years, I only open saving account with them and issued with Debit Card.

Question, can I just cancel the debit card? Online banking nowadays is so easy why bother to go ATM.

can. before that, note that debit card != atm card. if they ever give promo for debit card usage, then you can join

Yes u can. My rhb smart account comes without debit card, until i change my salary to rhb and the branch says opt for joy@Work then u get free debit card and get additional less 0.05% interest rate for loans

I see. JPJ nothing to pay when we hardly even drive out, I'm not in DBKL, and income tax is deducted at source. Looks like no options during lockdown for me.

Out of topic, but Alliance Bank is really outdated.

They can't even provide monthly saving account statement to their customer.

While other banks already provide the access to monthly bank statement thru the online banking or email to u every month.

If I want to get bank statement, I will need to walk in to branch to request it.

Anyone got PBB UnionPay RM100 for June Spending ? Usually it will earlier than Public Bank June Online/Petron cashback.
