Yes except OCBC Bank. So far OCBC Bank has been mum on debit card.

No. It is not true. It all depends on which bank you are talking about and what type of account you have.

Hi. I just upgraded to Maybank Platinum debit card. Mostly because I wanted to make online purchases upto RM10,000. One thing I'd like to find out is if its possible for me to also make withdrawals worth RM10,000 from ATM.
*
No. ATM cash withdrawal is still capped at 5k.

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Aug 3 2016, 05:55 PM)
Yes, the ATM card from affinbank without annual fee.

I want to change it to debit card because sometimes some of the shop outlet have some discount/cash rebate if you purchase your items by using a card with Visa/MasterCard logo, no matter yours is debit or credit card.
*
If you are using a Basic Savings Account without annual fee, then the Affin Bank debit MasterCard is annual fee free too. I had the BSA without annual fee issued with the Affin Bank debit MasterCard. As a matter of fact at the time I was given both ATM card debit MasterCard linked to the same BSA and I was told there will be no annual fee for either cards. True enough annual fee was never charged to my account during the 2 1/2 years the account was active.

Thank you so much for your info.

If I request them to change the new Affin Bank debit MasterCard and link my BSA without annual fee, then no charges at all?

I just did some research from Affinbank website and saw the fees & charges as below:-

[attachmentid=7242741]
Right now I'm still confuse whether have charges or not to request them change to the new Affinbank debit MasterCard.

Some more I also scare suddenly 2nd year charge RM21+ which deduct from my BSA account, terrible!! shakehead.gif
Can you advise for that? wink.gif
*
Just to be absolutely safe, may be you should write to them or call their HQ to get a confirmation ?

Ytd I went to ambank intend to change my ATM to myclear debit card.. My saving acc is tagged as non fee account, mean no annual fee if my monthly withdrawal is less than 4/8 times, can't rmb the exact tnc..
So, b4 I change my debit card, I asked the cs, but he told me that once we change to debit card, 1st year AF is free, but 2nd year onwards will charge RM8.48 per year.. I said y? He said every bank the same.. Then I told him I'm not going to change..
Anyone have idea on this?
*
The bank officer is misinformed or simply did not understand the new circular,

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Nov 1 2016, 07:53 AM)
Changed my AmBank Debit card few months ago

I asked the officer, does it come with AF and she said no AF for your Debit card as it will follow your old card policy which no AF

So far I didn't see any charges for my debit card

This is correct.

QUOTE(mamamia @ Nov 1 2016, 08:36 AM)

No. He won't.

Today I went to CIMB to change, the officer said if your account is non-fee, you will not be charged for AF. So, it is not BNM ruling that all MyClear card need to be charged. Seem like Ambank is the one who charged  dry.gif

The CIMB officer is correct whereas the AmBank officer is wrong.

Introduction of debit card annual fee for JustOne Personal/Saadiq JustOne Personal-i
accountholder
Effective 25th November 2016, we will be introducing an annual fee of RM8 on MasterCard
debit card issued to JustOne Personal/Saadiq JustOne Personal-i accountholders. The fee
will be debited from your JustOne Personal/Saadiq JustOne Personal-i Account upon the
anniversary date of the card thereafter. There will also be an issuance fee of RM 8.

I wonder what does this mean for JustOne Preferred Account, an account that still exists but no longer on sale. JustOne Priority Account isn't mentioned so I assume its debit card will continue to be annual fee free.

I only have True Transact and Saver account, back then when I opened that account, they said the debit card is without AF.

However, I thought the True debit card was only offered to those who open True Transact and Saver account?

If that's the case, wouldn't the AF revision means that it will charge AF for True Transact and Saver account?
*
It is true that there was no annual fee for this True debit MasterCard prior to 1st Nov 2016. However, a change was made and now this debit card has annual fee already but the first year annual fee is waived.

QUOTE(shuangping @ Nov 9 2016, 10:49 AM)

I have a black and white confirmation from Standard Chartered HQ that the debit MasterCard for JustOne Preferred and JustOne Priority will continue to be complimentary. So the change only affects JustOne Personal and Saadiq JustOne Personal Account-i.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask for assistance.

Just last week I registered for Viper Challenge with amount of RM1.3k and upon checking out making payment with using paypal where my maybank debit card attached to it. But then I got the error saying the payment was not successful but at the same time I got a sms from Maybank saying that I had made the payment.

Checked with Viper Challenge, they had no record with my payment. Checked with Maybank just now, they advise me to lodge a report to paypal and get refund ( something like this ), was given a report number and I was asked to visit maybank2u and a few steps to retrieve the report. Forgot the steps to get the report, can anyone enlighten me? And does anyone faced this problem before? thanks smile.gif
*
File a dispute with Maybank, not Paypal. Say good was never received.

Alright thanks. I already did filed dispute to both Paypal and Maybank. Anyway whose fault was actually?
And usually how long the whole process of refund takes?
*
Not very sure whose fault this was. It could be a system glitch or something. I haven't filed a dispute for a while but from what I remember, it can take as short as 1 week up to 3 weeks or so. However, last time a few banks will also give you a refund first but clearly states if it is found you are wrong, there will be a penalty at the end of investigation. But that was for credit card. I do not know if the process is the same for debit card.

Hello,

I opened an acc at maybank and was issued a platinum visa debit card. is this normal?  blink.gif  and told there will be an AF of rm8.
*
What you need to do is to go back to the branch and tell them you want the limited withdrawal version. You do not need to change the debit card, they just need to change your debit card from unlimited withdrawals to limited withdrawals in their system. Maybank debit card, be it the Cherry debit card, VISA Platinum VISA PayWave debit card, MasterCard Platinum debit card with limited withdrawals tagged to a normal Maybank savings or Wadiah Savings account come with 4 free ATM cash withdrawals a month. You will be charged RM0.50 from the 5th withdrawal and any subsequent withdrawal for that particular month onwards. However this RM0.50 will not be charged if you have a balance of at least RM5,000 when the 5th withdrawal (or any subsequent) is made. You will not be charged the RM0.50 fee either if you make at least RM1,500 withdrawal at one-go.

No idea. Did you guys get yours replaced at the same branch at the same time ? It could be that the officer grabs whatever card he/she saw.

And by default this is charged rm8 annually?
*
No. It is not. Whether yours will be charged annual fee should follow the existing option that you account is on.

Since Maybank came up with this unlimited ATM cash withdrawals for RM8/pa a few years ago, most officers will simply help you to choose this unlimited ATM cash withdrawals with annual fee without asking you. There have been cases where Maybank officers told customers that all ATM/debit cards come with annual fee now which is absolutely not true. To pay RM8 a year for unlimited ATM cash withdrawals is still optional until today.

Not at the same branch/time. So maybe it's whatever available in the branch.
I see. I've been keeping a min 5k most of the time to avoid the withdrawal fee. From your statement, since i'm being charged rm8 anyway, there is no more need for the 5k.
*
No you don't have to if you're paying RM8.48 a year. But if you're on the non-annual fee option, either you make sure you have at least RM5,000 in your account before you make the 5th or subsequent withdrawal for that particular month or you just have to withdraw RM1,500 in a single transaction and you won't be charged the RM0.53 fee for excess withdrawal.

QUOTE(moonsatelite @ Dec 16 2016, 09:50 PM)

Technically nobody is forcing you to pay the annual fee as well, just go and terminate your existing account and reopen a Basic Savings Account which has No annual fee.
*
The point here is CIMB's debit card is not free of annual fee unlike some other banks.
Every existing ATM card owners that have their card expiring end of 2017 will be forced to be replace into Debit card only. Thus, forced annual fee of RM15.90.
There are no other route for ATM card owners. Rm18 may seem to be small amount to some people but it may be alot to some people too.
*
As moonsatelite said earlier, just close your account and open a Basic Savings Account. If your CIMB Bank debit MasterCard is tied to a BSA, there will be no annual fee for your debit card. So yes. Existing ATM card owners do have a choice. In fact some existing ATM card owners are still paying RM8.48 a year for their ATM card. If they open a Basic Savings Account they no longer have to pay a single cent to the bank.

QUOTE(filage @ Dec 17 2016, 11:43 AM)
If BSA, should not get any charge right? It should be reported if annual fee.. unless your BSA is the RM8 Fee type..
*
Yes you are absolutely correct.

For Kawanku Account, it can become unlimited free ATM withdrawals as well even if your debit card is the non-annual fee option as long as you withdraw at least RM1,500 in one transaction from the 5th withdrawal onwards for that particular month or to have a balance of at least RM5,000 also from the 5th withdrawal onwards.
