For my case, I am using BSA without annual fee (which limit my atm withdraw) but holding with MYDebit MasterCard (which CIMB force us to change MYDebit card).
Thus, is it means I still be chargeable RM15.90 (include GST) although my BSA without annual fee?

If like that, I think I should do the next decisions in the future soon.
*
No. You will not be charged any debit card annual fee if you are very sure that your CIMB Bank BSA is the non-fee option.

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Mar 7 2017, 06:51 PM)
Yup in your case your total is RM15.90 per year will be charged.
You're same as me. I'm also having BSA without annual fee.

I just hope they will abolish that debit card fee this year. smile.gif
*
That is some very wrong information there. I've been using a CIMB Bank non-fee BSA for two years already. From the very beginning they already issued a CIMB Bank debit MasterCard and I was never charged an annual fee. Last year I changed my CIMB Bank debit MasterCard to the new PIN & PAY CIMB Bank debit MasterCard with MyDebit and they still didn't charge me any annual fee.

If you read a couple of posts back, another old regular user alexwsk has this CIMB Bank non-fee BSA too and he was never charged any annual fee too.

For this, I purposely call the local banks to find out more.

Affin, Alliance and CIMB do offer a basic ATM card but they charge a certain amount of annual fee.

Hong Leong doesn't offer ATM card anymore and its bank account holders must use its debit cards and must pay annual fee.

Ambank has a type of savings account that comes with a ATM card without the need to pay annual fee. Must check with the branch.

Now only Maybank offers debit cards without the need to pay annual fee.
*
CIMB Bank also offers an annual fee free debit card provided it is issued under a non-fee Basic Savings Account. It is the same with RHB Bank, Public Bank and AmBank. I have an AmBank debit MasterCard and it is linked to my non-fee Basic Savings Account and it doesn't have any annual fee.

For CIMB Bank:

http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pre...731:clicks_ros|

It is stated on that website that ATM withdrawals via CIMB ATM card will no longer be possible.

I sent an e-mail to CIMB Customer Service. Although I have a CIMB basic saving account without annual fee, the e-mail sent by CIMB CS stated that I still need to pay RM 15.90 for the debit card.  bangwall.gif
*
The CIMB CS is wrong. I have a CIMB Basic Savings Account with no annual fee and from the very beginning they already issued the CIMB debit MasterCard to me and I had never paid any annual fee for the debit card.

Has your debit card reached its anniversary yet? I'm very curious to know whether is the RM 15.90 chargeble under Basic Savings Account, I even closed my account with the bank immediately upon hearing rumors of this.

When I was using the account with the bank, I opted for the Non-Fee Account
*
For this year ? Yes. Just a few months ago. And I'm not the only one here using a non-fee CIMB Basic Savings Account with CIMB debit MasterCard and not paying any annual fee for the debit card. If my memory serves me correctly, Alexwsk is using the same account issued with CIMB debit MasterCard and he has also repeatedly confirming here that he had never paid any annual fee for his CIMB debit MasterCard.

Thanks for clearing my doubt.  rclxms.gif

Suppose that I open a basic current account without annual fee, in CIMB. The annual fee of debit card (linked to this basic current account) will not be charged to me, right?
*
Yes correct smile.gif

Referring to CIMB Basic Current Account (Option 1: No Annual Fee) https://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...nt-account.html, it is clear that I need to place a minimum initial deposit of RM500.

After this CIMB Basic Current Account 1 (BCA1) is opened, will CIMB deduct some money from my current account, for the issuance of the cheque book?

Thank you for your information.  thumbup.gif
*
For the current accounts (other banks) that i use, yes. They will deduct the cheque book issuance fee from the current account. Delivery fee will also be deducted if you request the cheque book to be sent to your correspondence address. No delivery fee is you opt to collect the cheque book at your account holding branch.

Already test this method using yournique alliace credit card.
topup rm 3000 and then withdraw (need to find atm which can withdraw rm100 notes)
so total rebate I get is rm 44 (after minus rm 6 withdraw fees)
*
I recently came across and ATM that can dispense RM4,000 in a single transaction but I don’t remember which bank already.

Yes,  i mean lifestyle visa debit... The pbb branch i went told me that they no longer accept application for lifestyle visa debit card... Only left with master debit card... Is that true?
*
It’s likely that they had run out of stock for Lifestyle VISA debit at the time of application.

aiyah. high requirements and cap at 30-50 bucks only. Debit card somemore.

The last time I check the RCB, requirement was around 200k-250k. Once balance fall below the threshold, they charge you for RCB.
*
Believe it has to do with Public Bank does not issue pre-approved credit card to Red Carpet Banking customers. So at least the RCB debit card gives you some form of cash back and also lounge access (though in very limited number).

Yes. But many banks no longer issue pre-approved credit card to their Priority/Premier Banking customers these days.

Anyone has idea what’s happening to the supposedly launching of GoPayz Prepaid cards that was supposed to take place last month ? And we’re about to bid farewell to August already and we have not heard anything from GoPayz since the big media event back in June.

And has anyone also heard anything about Happy MasterCard by Digi ? Its IG account looks abandoned.

Then there is also the Grab Prepaid MasterCard that is supposed to launch in Singapore this year. But so far nothing has happened. Perhaps anyone who knows someone from Grab can shed a light ? The only recent related development is that Grab has partnered up with Citibank to launch a co-branded credit card with Philippine to be the first market to offer a Citibank-Grab credit card.

I think Public Bank is the only Bank that is generous enough to keep giving cash back to its range of debit cards. I’ve been a Public Bank customer since forever but rarely monitored this thread. Been missing out so much. A lot of cash back was or is so easy to get. Need to visit this thread more often. Thanks to all the selfless people who keep sharing the tips here. Much respect.

Which debit card no fee and can use phone as identity verify when making a transaction (instead of receiving a text message)?

Any debit card that is linked to a Basic Savings Account, but with some banks you need to be specific and request for the no-fee version of BSA.

Hi guys
Any bank offering visa infinite or mastercard world elite debit card?
Tq
*
RHB Bank Premier Banking VISA Infinite debit card. Annual fee is RM50 but will be waived automatically when you use the debit card at least 5 times in a calendar year.

For banks not in Malaysia, HSBC Jade in Singapore is issuing HSBC Jade VISA Infinite debit card (TRB of SGD1.2 million) and HSBC Jade in Hong Kong provides HSBC Jade World MasterCard debit card (TRB of HKD7.8 million). HSBC Jade cross recognition is available in both markets, so you only need to maintain the TRB in either Singapore or Hong Kong. Singapore is the better choice since SGD1.2 million is less than HKD7.8 million.
