QUOTE(ohcipala @ Sep 8 2015, 05:46 PM) Went to cimb today and confirmed with 3 different officers that both conventional and Islamic basic savings account come with atm withdrawal only. They give you a mastercard debit card which acts as your atm card but the Mastercard debit card function is deactivated, which means that you can't use it for online purchases. I have yet to try whether the debit function works. All 3 officers looked a bit confused and just read from their cheat sheet so I wanna confirm whether you managed to use the debit mastercard for online purchases. I suppose alexwsk has answered your query |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jan 31 2016, 12:38 PM) Anyone know how to set the withdrawal limit for CIMB ATM? Pure AM card, not debit card. Any idea what is the default amount? It can be done at the ATM or via CIMB Clicks. QUOTE(mamamia @ Feb 2 2016, 06:47 AM) The picture you attached refers to banks in Singapore. Cross border fee or admin fee charged by banks in Malaysia are different. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Feb 2 2016, 04:31 PM |

QUOTE(bryon @ Apr 27 2016, 06:07 PM) Even if they give you a debit card, they shouldn't charge you if you have a non-fee Basic Savings Account. And until a few weeks ago, RHB Bank had a few types of debit card with the annual fee ranging from RM8/pa to RM20/pa (not inclusive of GST). But now they have two types of RHB Bank debit card only and it comes in VISA or MasterCard with PayWave/Paypass and MyDebit feature. The annual fee for these cards are RM8/pa (no cash back) and RM12/pa (with cash back for overseas spending) respectively. Eventually all existing RHB Bank ATM and debit card holders will need to change to this new debit card. I have a non-fee Basic Savings Account with CIMB Bank and AmBank. Both banks issue me a debit MasterCard but they don't charge me any annual fee. |

As more and more banks are canceling or have canceled the rewards point or cash back feature for debit card, quite a few debit card users posted here asking for debit card that still offer rewards point or cash back.
Currently BSN is still offering rewards point for its debit card. Their partner is BCard and each RM1 charged to your BSN debit card will earn you 1 BCard point. And it cost you 100 BCard point to redeem RM1. That is as good as 1% cash back which beats the cash back or rewards point value of most credit card on the market. So if you want to continue to get some rewards out of your debit card usage, why not consider getting yourself a BSN VISA debit card. |

QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ May 22 2016, 08:06 PM) No. I'm not using this BSN VISA debit card though I may get one. I'm checking with BSN if I can get this card with a Basic Savings Account so I do not have to pay any annual fee for this debit card.QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ May 22 2016, 08:06 PM) Any retail purchases via VISA with this BSN debit card will get you BCard point.QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ May 22 2016, 08:06 PM) That applies only to the standalone public BCard (green one). I do have this card and i have been using it for a few years already. I recently bought a few stuff from 11street and did not pay a single cent as everything was offset using my BCard points. That is when I suddenly thought of the BSN VISA debit card. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: May 22 2016, 08:21 PM |

QUOTE(kelvinlzy @ Jun 3 2016, 12:31 AM) That is because that is for debit card. This is for BSA: http://www1.uob.com.my/personal//useful/fees/personal/basic_saving_ac.html Do they still issue ATM card now ? Quite a few other banks also failed to mention if annual fee is applicable to Basic Savings Account issued with debit card. For instance, CIMB Bank. |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Jun 3 2016, 09:35 AM) i guess it's free, at least my cimb master debit with BSA is Yes. I have one CIMB Islamic BSA too and it is issued with CIMB Islamic debit MasterCard and it is free. However, a few years ago when CIMB Bank just came out with a debit card for their savings/current account, the CIMB debit MasterCard cannot be issued for fee-free BSA. Same goes to RHB Bank BSA.with BSA, banks have to give free ATM card (or debit card if they dun hv atm) |

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Jun 5 2016, 10:32 PM) Received letter regarding New AmBank Debit MasterCard, request existing ATM card holder to replaced with new PIN enabled Debit Cards. It depends on your account type. If it is a non-fee Basic Savings Account, then no annual fee will be charged. I am using the old AmBank debit MasterCard and it is linked to my AmBank Islamic non-fee BSA-i. AmBank has never charged me annual fee for the debit card.Anyone recently replaced with new Debit Card ? Would like to know whether or not come with annual fee will be charged ? Edit: Checked in website, waived for first year only |

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Jul 13 2016, 09:14 PM) Hi I just want to ask sifus here about Cimb Islamic bank acc and their debit card. You'll be issued a debit MasterCard should you choose to open a non-fee CIMB Islamic Basic Savings Account-i. The debit card is annual fee free. The profit rate for this account is better than your current Wadiah Savings too at 0.90% per annum. You will get 8 free ATM cash withdrawals only a month. If you are a heavy user of ATM, it is recommended that you choose the fee-paying account so you will get unlimited fee-free ATM cash withdrawals. Now I'm holding the WADIAH savings account-i with the Islamic debit Mastercard. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think both annual fees are charged for this account... which are RM8.48 acc annual fee. RM15.90 for debit card annual fee. I'm just wondering if there's any way I can avoid these two fees? Should I change to Basic savings account-i with no annual fee. And I'm not sure if I opt for Basic savings acc and debit card I still need to pay the debit card annual fee. I have been having this account for too long now only I realised the charges imposed. |

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Jul 13 2016, 09:36 PM) how if im currently bsa and holding cimb old atm card. If let say I change to new debit card(since all website welcome to change to new pin n pay card) Are I being charge for rm 15.9 instead of rm 8.48? If your BSA is the fee option (with unlimited ATM cash withdrawals) and you change to the new debit card, you will be charged RM15.90/pa. |

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Jul 13 2016, 10:00 PM) Thanks for the reply. I am holding the debit Mastercard now and have been using it as my primary online transactions card. I believe you need to walk-in to your account holding branch. I am however not sure if they can simply convert your account so to let you to maintain the same account number. Very likely they will simply open a new account for you and then close your existing account. I've asked CIMB Bank before and one person can have up to 5 savings accounts at a given time.My profit rate is 0.9 for this wadiah savings acc. If I'm not mistaken when I opened it few years ago it was called mudharabah acc. So I don't know since when it changed name as wadiah savings acc. Lol Anyway,if I want to change to basic savings account-i. What will happen? They will close my old acc and open new one as I walk in or I can just call cimb to do the changes for me and transfer all the money from old acc to the new one then? |
