QUOTE(anggaPra @ Nov 30 2012, 09:15 AM) i have a few questions to ask.. -what's the minimum age ones can use a debit card -can a debit card be used without msos to purchase something at shops ie jusco etc? For all Public Bank debit cards, you only have to be at least 12 years old to apply. However, if you are already 12 years old but still under 18 years old, you will need one of your parents to sign the consent form for you. QUOTE(anggaPra @ Nov 30 2012, 09:15 AM) -can a debit card be used without msos to purchase something at shops ie jusco etc? MSOS is strictly for online purchases. At places such as Jusco and Carrefour, sometimes you will be asked if you want to select debit or credit, always tell the cashier to choose credit.

QUOTE(yiyibrowers @ Dec 13 2012, 01:51 AM) Actually I wanna mean is anybody try withdraw from Maybank Debit Visa at ATM while at Taiwan... Cos i going run off of cash ald... I think hye has done it in Korea before. I personally have done it in Singapore. It shouldn't be problem with Taiwan's ATM. Just make sure you have the overseas ATM services activated before leaving for Taiwan. QUOTE(zisheng @ Dec 13 2012, 04:06 PM) Hey guys, i tried to use my Maybank visa debit to purchase from Topman online store. I tried to finish the transactions about 5 times and all of them failed to go through. When I checked my bank balance, the first 3 transactions i tried were refunded immediately while 2 weren't refunded. So I called the customer service, they said it would take around 16 working days and if the amount isn't returned by then I would need to file a report. Anyone face such situation before and should I be worried? Usually they will credit the money back into your account. However, if it doesn't happen within the time frame the Maybank CS told you, then file a complaint. Shouldn't be a big problem.

QUOTE(nicodemus88 @ Dec 23 2012, 12:10 AM) Hi forumers... Wanted to ask some recommendations for debit card... Currently using CIMB Debit card but I find its not very versatile... My usual spending habits using the debit card are: - mainly fuel, some occasional grocery shopping & dining - once in a while online purchasing: movie tickets, Groupon, books (this is where I think CIMB Debit card sucks, only those with CIMB Clicks verified can be used, otherwise no other online purchases at all) So I would like a debit card with some cash-back benefits and able to use as credit card i.e. online purchases or at any VISA / MasterCard certified places or websites... So far, I think the PBB Day2Day Card is the best option... Any other good recommendations? Besides PBB Day2Day VISA debit card, another one is PBB ESSO VISA debit card.

QUOTE(kennethkhoo @ Jan 25 2013, 08:26 PM) guys i have a question: so now I've gave my debit card number (and security pin) to a hotel for reservation. I have checked - no charges incur on my card yet. Lets say now if I do a "no-show", the hotel will still charge my credit card (in Terms & condition la). Now the evil mind in me ask: what if I withdraw all money from my debit card, what will happen? the merchant wont get $$? will i get trouble from the bank? (pls dont flame me, i'm just curious...XP) **btw it's a mastercard.. CIMB Supposedly they will hold a deposit from your bank account and in Maybank, you'll see something like per-authorized...... By the way, you shouldn't have given your card security PIN because that is not necessary at all.

QUOTE(ryukai @ Feb 6 2013, 01:55 PM) The link I use below showed that Public Bank hv zero annual fee and zero interest rate, is it true?? http://www.moneystreet.com.my/Banking/Debi...ld2=0&balance=1Zero annual fee ? That only applies to select card types, for instance the ESSO VISA debit card which is totally annual fee free. Some other card needs you to swipe the card x times and annual fee will be automatically waived. PBB Day2Day VISA debit card annual fee is indeed RM8. Not sure if they now issue the PBB D2D VISA to basic savings account though... The zero interest rate is not true.

QUOTE(perfect10 @ Feb 27 2013, 08:52 AM) i am wondering, if my debit card link to my paypal, and i transfer $$ to my Paypal will it be in RM going into my Paypal or in USD going to paypal? Also whose exchange rate is this? the banks exchange rate or paypal exchange rate? You can't transfer money from your debit card to your Paypal account. You may however top-up your Paypal account by transferring money from your RHB Bank savings/current account and top-up is done right away.

To those of you who are using RHB Bank Cash Connect VISA debit card/debit MasterCard, you guys may want to change to the newly launched RHB debit card. The annual fee for this new RHB debit card is only RM8 instead of RM20 (for Cash Connect VISA/MC). This new RHB debit card can be used for online purchases as well.
By the way, there is no mention that this new debit card will earn any cash back if you use it to pay for things. This is probably why the annual fee is much lower at only RM8. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Mar 1 2013, 11:59 PM

QUOTE(ragk @ Mar 27 2013, 09:20 AM) hmmm not really sure, tat's a PLUS logo behind and infront written electronic use only. I think i using wrong term making u miss-understood, i mean how much we can purchases with our Debit card online per day? I only used RM500, and when i try to use another RM1500, its blocked. The maximum would be RM10,000 too. You can change this purchase limit yourself at all PBB ATM. You will need to key in your IC number and the new limit will only take effect the next day.

QUOTE(brorishi @ Apr 8 2013, 03:08 PM) hey guys.. im currently a student and im below 18...is there a way for me to get a debit card? without the need of my parents? i tried looking in this forum for answers but couldnt find anything :| Unfortunately I don't think there is. As long as you are still under 18, the bank will need either one of your parents consent before they can issue you a debit card. The same goes to normal ATM card. If you currently have an ATM card, you can convert it to a debit card but of course, one of your parents must go to the bank with you.

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Apr 22 2013, 10:46 AM) QUOTE(scefer @ Apr 21 2013, 09:38 PM) hello... i want to know how to link CIMB debit card mastercard with paypal? You can't. Up to my knowledge, only Maybank and Public Bank debit cards can be linked to Paypal. Last time CIMB Bank debit card cannot be used for any online transaction. However, this has changed. So it's worth a try to see if one can link his/her CIMB Bank debit card to Paypal now. QUOTE(scefer @ Apr 22 2013, 02:37 PM) For public bank, which card or service i have to apply to be able to link with paypal? Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card, Public Bank VISA Electron etc. You can get PBB D2D VISA debit card right away at any PBB branch.

QUOTE(ErichLim96 @ May 12 2013, 11:55 AM) Hey I need to ask how do you apply this NexG if you're 17 years old. I went to the website and read on how to apply but not sure cause I'm underage not knowing does is it apply the same to me? What I need to bring besides I/C and money to deposit at 1st? Parents signature? -sorry If I'd annoyed anyone for this question Why even bother with this debit card you mentioned when there are so many better alternatives out there ? Do check out Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card or Public Bank ESSO VISA debit card (this one doesn't have annual fee). Or you can check out Maybank VISA debit card. And as you are still under 18, you will need either one of your parents to go to the bank with you as there will be a few consent forms that they need to sign on before the bank can issue you the debit card.

QUOTE(foxxy @ Jun 1 2013, 02:46 PM) go to service noticeboard, some of them are offering online shopping service from US. Btw guys there's a new debit card from mbb. http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...sonal/CRD-Cards Maybank has been very obsessed with debit card of late Anyway, this card looks very classy. Too bad it's only for Premier 1 and Premier Mudharabah-i account. And you also need to be a Maybank ASPIRE client. You need RM50k to join and maintain this Maybank ASPIRE status.
