Hi there,

I’ll just intro lil bit about my situation.
House : Semi D Double Storey
Toilet : 3
User : 2
Water flow : direct pipe to kitchen and water tank to other pipes example bathroom.

My problem :
- water pressure from main pipe(gov) consider super slow
- Usually early in the morning until noon(7am-1pm) my house will get no water from main pipe.

I was thinking i could wipe this issue by adding 2 water pump To improve my water pressure, stability and flow.

My thought was :
1- add water pump from main pipe to increase pressure so it will supply into my water tank and kitchen from time to time without failed
2- add water pump near the water tank(roof). To improvise water pressure to all toilets etc.

What you guys think?

Thanks

I think you should report to your water supply authority regarding the low water pressure

1. Main water issue, yes u can try to report to authority or check with neighbors, some time is meter or stopvalve at the meter clog.

2. for bathroom, yes u need to add a pump

Most of my neighbours already installed one pump at main meter. We’ve facing this issue since day 1.

So i could say 90% houses at my living area had installed pump after main meter.

No point also if i just attach one pump to my water tank if water pressure from my main meter running slow.

Hi, here's my situation. Live in a condo but water pressure very low. If 1 person showering or washing dishes or anything, then the entire house pressure drop by almost 70%.

I have 2 toilets, 4 ppl living in house. Can a water pump solve this issues?

Thank you.

I am under impression installing pump to main or before water tank is illegal. Pump can only be installed after your house water tank.

Thinking of getting pump for existing house. Should I buy the pump myself and get the plumber to do it? Anyone to recommend for plumber?

buy from shop and get the shop's plumber to do it. If u have ur own plumber, then buy ur own n get plumber install.

If u get plumber buy, minimum they need to mark up 15 to 20% for the pump. some even mark up 30%.

Q : Why is my pump running intermittently while there is nobody using water? Is my pump faulty?

A : Most likely there is a minor leak in the pipeline.
1) Could be pipes in the wall
2) Could be flexible hose connection
3) Could be WC infill valve faulty and etc etc

to identify which toilet is giving the problem, turn off all the stopvalve in the bathrooms and turn it 1 by 1 to identify which bathroom is leaking

Hi there,

(Story behind spoiler)

Long Question Short:
My question is, since the new pump controller comes with preset water pressure from factory at 1.5 Bar vs the old Inverter came preset at 1.1Bar (according to the display unit.) , will it do harm to the piping with the higher water pressure.
I asked the plumber, and he said the controller cant adjust the pressure.

So far there is no water hammering through out the house, except when the washing machine is activated or someone using the back guest bedroom bathroom (which we seldom use anyways) . Well even with the old pump still there was water hammering. But thats just only 2 water pipings out of the entire house.

And no other issues like - Pump intermittent running (when no one is using or when someone is using the water) .

Unlikely. Direct water pressure is pretty high.
The pressure is good enough to deliver the water from reservoir to your house.

I suggested direct water because it's cheaper.
Electricity free. Maintenance free.
For my house (a semi-D), it only cost me MYR600 (labor and & material).
The water pressure is very high (even it passthrough an outdoor Diamond master filter).
No regrets since day 1.
The "tangki water" will be automatically triggered when there is water rationing.
I only use "direct water" for the shower heads.

hi, may i know how you do the piping work? where you install the valve to convert the direct water to tangki water during water rationing?

Just to share my house water issue and this maybe helpful if you experience the same problem.
Since last week, my water tab was experienced sudden hot water flow through the shower or basin tab for few seconds, the water is really hot and lucky no cause any skin burn or injured.
From the point, i try to figure where this sudden hot water generated? After survey and called expert, zheilwane, he immediately tell me is my Grundfos pump overheated and suggest me to turn off the pump to confirm. Once I turn off the pump, this pump no more working after i turn on back in few hours. Since this Grundfos Cm3-4 was installed 7 years ago and I plan to change the water pump to solve this problem in one go...
Without any consideration, contact the expert Zheilwane for the pump and He suggested Teral water which is same as my previous Grundfos and price is cheaper.
After installed this Teral pump, immediately notice the pump noise level is much lower compare to my Grundfos which the noise accompanied me for 7 years even rubber mat installed.
Thumb up for Teral...

thanks bro, japanese motor are always famous for durability and performance, teral is the only pump really originate from japan, definitely a good choice smile.gif

most brands so called Japan technology are actually CHINA OEM and nothing to do with JAPAN. Just google on the brands, if u cant find their company in japan then is malaysia brand OEM from china. Dont expect those OEM to be same level as TERAL smile.gif
