China launches gold vending machine

China launches gold vending machine

BEIJING - China, already the world's second largest bullion consumer, has installed the country's first gold vending machine in a busy shopping district in Beijing, state media said on Sunday.

Shoppers in the popular Wangfujing Street can insert cash or use a bank card to withdraw gold bars or coins of various weights based on market prices, the People's Daily said on its website.

Each withdrawal is capped at 2.5 kilograms (5.5 pounds) or one million yuan (about $156,500) worth of gold, the report said.

Gold vending machines already exist in Britain, the United States, the Middle East and Europe.

The machine was launched Saturday by the Beijing Agricultural Commercial Bank and a gold trading company, the report said.

They plan to install an unspecified number of machines in secure locations such as gold shops and upmarket private clubs.

Gold is often used as a hedge against inflation and the machines could prove popular among Chinese consumers looking for a convenient way to safeguard their cash amid rising prices.

Chinese consumer demand for gold soared 27 percent year-on-year to 579.5 tonnes in 2010, according to the World Gold Council.

India, the world's top consumer, saw a 66 percent increase to 963.1 tonnes.

Germany bank will be drag down as they hold quite a number of Greece bond, Euro Zone has to be dissolve.

Disparity of economy between europe country is too huge, Germany and France is the pioneer but they cannot forever help the other country. UK is smart not to hop into the bus

the real bottom is when they've landed... whether hard or soft... imo..

Yup~ Alcoa will report Q3 on 11th October 2011... i think the earnings forecast will be lowered. even Fedex and logitech lowered forecasts..
that's not the end yet.. some predicts the whole of 2012 will be slowwwww globally... (slow doesnt mean recession, so they aint calling it a recession...)

how to toooot the bear in KLSE ?? sad.gif
i dun play future or foreign mkt..

Checking in.

I've sold all my stocks today, except for some free warrants which I'll keep.

Now I can rest .... started having difficulty sleeping a couple of nights back, with all the side effects. That's when I realise it's time to cut loss.

This is the first time I made substantial losses in investment of any kind. Hope it'll be the last time.

It's a good time to be in cash. Bring on the Global Recession!

PEMANDU is pleased that the Security and Trade RFID Facilitation System will be
used commercially at Royal Malaysia Customs checkpoints throughout the country.

This is a clear indication that the ETP is being implemented, since its launch in
October 2010,” said Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, Director Communications,
Content and Infrastructure NKEA and Business Services NKEA.
This project was one of the 12 initiatives announced by YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun
Razak at the fifth Economic Transformation Programme Update in April. Amongst
other objectives, the implementation of the project is targeted at improving the
efficiency of container clearance using paperless RFID approach, enabling automatic
detection of compromised or tampered containers, and facilitating faster and more
transparent trade.

The stock that I dumped just now .... it's a favourite of at least 3 forumers here, and at least 3 others in investlah.

I've a nagging suspicion that at least one of them bought from me hmm.gif

In which case, congrats to you bro. You made considerable $ from me. But you bought a "value trap" from me tongue.gif .... I'm surprised that 6 seasoned investors and traders fail to realise that the company has an Achilles' Heel that could prove very painful in a prolonged recession or even just slowdown.

But its long term prospects is excellent, which is why I still keep the warrants.

Bursa is considered expensive compared to other stock exchanges .... that's one reason.

And there's uncertainty about GE13 results.

i guess fellow forumers were aware that several issues/matters being discussed here somehow came out to public/news, etc.

it became their ideas, their biz, their profits, etc.

Latest:

recall we were bashing TNB for the hike, and reiterating the call that somebody/co get involve with coal in Indonesia (large reserves) so that we could get a better deal (price & supply).

what happened: MTD Capital build their coal port in Indonesia, and they wooing TNB for a sweet deal out of that.

sad case:it was delisted from Bursa

i remember integrax got something to do with coal transportation and the previous management was aggressively acquiring coal port in indo until the fallout in the previous management which saw the disposal of a port in indo.. not sure if the new management is still keen on that.. it's a net cash company although the management does not see eye to eye..

The key to play this game is not how well you can hold the pain.

This game is NOT for the novice. It is no longer for the aunties and uncles where they can
hoard around the remisier counters or nowadays trading forums and ask for tips on what to buy, and "hope" for profits later.

The big boys know how much stocks they've sold, how much pain the small guys can hold and how much money at stake.
When the market turns against them, little guys just throw up and ran away and never come back. Like I'm seeing most players here in this forum.

Like I've said over and over again..it is how to manage your risk. whistling.gif

My portfolio paper gain can withstand 2 to 3 months bear attack only. Now everything wiped off. A little heartache lo seeing the losses extending everyday. However, it is a good experience where money cannot buy. You don't see this kind of bearish market with discounted bluechips very often.

My portfolio paper gain can withstand 2 to 3 months bear attack only. Now everything wiped off. A little heartache lo seeing the losses extending everyday. However, it is a good experience where money cannot buy. You don't see this kind of bearish market with discounted bluechips very often.

Since I'm the only one so far who posted about cutting loss in this new thread, are you saying I'm a newbie and not steady? vmad.gif

Haha, just joking. I'm not offended tongue.gif

But FYI, cutting loss can be a smart thing. Even before August, I'm already more cash than stocks. Cutting loss my remaining stocks, painfully though it is, is a strategic move to free up money to buy better stocks at cheaper prices later on. Nothing panicky about it, although I do lose sleep last 2 days. Of course, the market could rebound tomorrow and go up non-stop until 2000..... who knows? I made a calculated move and it could either back-fire or reap me great rewards.

Other people have their own strategy. There is no right or wrong - there are many ways to make money.

It's true those who cut loss doesn't mean they are newbies. I wish I learn n forced myself to apply this important discipline much earlier. Also wish we have trailing stop loss just like the US market. So, it automatically force me out when things do go the way I want it to.

But thinking back, my entry and strategy in the first place also not a good one already for my 2 current trapped counters. Gotta just learn from mistakes smile.gif

Another lesson I learned early is that there is nothing new in Wall Street. There can't be because speculation is as old as the hills. Whatever happens in the stock market today has happened before and will happen again. I've never forgotten that. I suppose I really manage to remember when and how it happened. The fact that I remember that way is my way of capitalizing experience.

The fluctuations were from the first associated in my mind with upward or downward movements. Of course there is always a reason for fluctuations, but the tape does not concern itself with the why and wherefore. It doesn't go into explanations. I didn't ask the tape why when I was fourteen, and I don't ask it today, at forty. The reason for what a certain stock does today may not be known for two or three days, or weeks, or months. But what the dickens does that matter? Your business with the tape is now -- not tomorrow. The reason can wait. But you must act instantly or be left. Time and again I see this happen.

Well, I'm considerably younger than 40, so I'll refine my strategy as I learn from experience and mistakes.

As for "that" share, it's in your target list ....... so you might have bought it brows.gif

But I started to appreciate TA more and more as this "crisis" unfolded. Until early this year, I'm 100% FA only.

Wow.. seems like a porn scene from your description. laugh.gif

Anyway, I don't see any shortsqueeze here.. just that bears are resting now to give bulls a chance to recover after the slaughter from last week. tongue.gif

My short term longs tonight are working nicely..playing with house money now taken from the bear raid from last week. whistling.gif

There is no right or wrong - there are many ways to make money.

btw, please don't be offended when i called some "newbies". I am also officially a newbie. In fact, newbie or not actually not depending on how long one trades, but how mature one trades. let us all ride the bear (or bull, later). we can't fight them, we just can ride on them. this is the most important thing i learnt during this bear season. notworthy.gif

i wish i did short future when it's 1450, i had the thought that time.
but now, i dunno man. the risk is getting higher. the chances of upside vs downside seems pretty even now, i mean in 1-3 months time.

Added on September 27, 2011, 4:06 amUS and EU market closed nicely. gold seems on their way back to 14xx, oil stands really nice at around 80.
Tomorrow, lets see what will happen. yawn.gif

Its ok. If one cannot take criticism shouldn't be here. Everyone learns along the way and have their own strategy of playing the market, so there is no right or wrong. No hard feelings

Added on September 27, 2011, 7:10 amBTW, Dow closed 2.5% up and major European markets also up (0.5% to 2.8%)

So we can see a technical rebound in the morning today

as expected.......we've started a "yo-yo" technical rebound......
those bold-hearted or 'diehard' would nibble here n there
but at the first sign of "gostan" they would "kuat kuat lari"
actually.....this kind of market is a trader's heaven (they buy-sell,
sell-buy, buy-sell many many times!)
imho........the downside is still there but quite near
even if this rebound can rebound very strongly, at the most it could
last a couple of days.......
reason...........i'm still waiting for a "selling climax"
to me yesterday volumes cannot constitute as a climax yet !

No. I think the local investors are weak! The foreign players have exit the game, local investors are scare to play by themselves. The game being dominated by local sharks who continue to punish the little guys.

KUALA LUMPUR: Property developers will be forced to raise prices of residential properties by as much as 20 per cent due to rising cost of building materials

The Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (Rehda), however, does not think this will lead to a property glut.

"In Malaysia, there are very few investment portfolios that one can hold. Besides stocks and bonds, the other alternative is property and one can never go wrong on that," Rehda president Datuk Michael Yam Kong Choy claimed.

Rehda is optimistic that property prices will pick up in the second half of this year and 2012, given the positive outlook biggrin.gif of the Malaysian economy.

Yam said the property sector has a direct correlation to the economic condition as demand for properties increases during a booming economy.

"Unless there is a serious financial crisis, I see steady uptake in properties," he told reporters after Rehda's first half 2011 property update yesterday. rclxub.gif

RM50 x 17 points = RM850 profits.

Minimum raised to 5k per contract.. (used to be 3k) and u need to top up $$ if u die die dun close...
the money parked in it doesnt earn u interest.. unlike trust account... of course as an alternative, u can make payment everytime u buy through online banking or running to the bank..

KLCI future is RM50 per point
FCPO is Rm25 per point..
if u are a gambler.. FCPO is more exciting lol....

plz correct me if i'm wrong..
me still dun have future account.. considering to get 1 for hedging and "learning' purposes... laugh.gif

looking at the market, this technical rebound still got some "legs to kick"
unless later afterwards when the "kwai-lohs" (read : European and US)
woke up from their sleep they placed too many F4 orders !!
oh.....to some of the brokers.....F4 means SELL whereas F1 means BUY
still jittery but to be honest the technical rebound too slow n boring

Europe is very very noisy... they really need to STFU....
~Angela meeting Papandreou today... God knows what they gonna talk about..
~Oct 3rd meeting is not expected to come out with any decision on bailout fund..
~we need to wait for October 13th meeting for some real decision...

but problem is Greece's money can only last until mid or end of October..
very similar to US debt ceiling thing, last minute... those ang moh are getting more and more greedy, want to make more $$ from the mkt..
even if Greece get this tranche of money, they can only survive until December.. then mkt will panic again... what for..

why ppl said DOW can not fall below 10k ?

Because IBM, Chevron, P&G, McD are very strong stock, won't fall easily.

While the one fall significantly one, like Citi, no longer a Dow30 component.

Even found solution today for Greece, then tomorrow Portugal or Ireland might jump out saying they tak boleh tahan liao...
Some more they are moving in the 'ai mai ai mai' mode, hard to let investors to have confidence on them...
US also the same... flip 'shut down', flop 'no shut down'...

Better let it collapse, once and for all, then we build up from the mess...
I think they are saying the same thing to us during the Asian Financial Crisis time...

Actually Greece is insolvent but even countries like Portugal and Ireland are only illiquid. This is why this new crisis is so annoying. The global economy is not actually doing that badly, but the problems are all political. The US can't decide on a plan to fix their deficit, which in the short and medium term is perfectly okay. The EU can't summon the courage to throw Greece under a bus and save only the truly illiquid countries etc.

Today's gain eradicated yesterday losses, in the sense of KLCI. Roller coaster ride really, anyone that buy in yesterday should be happy after taking the profit from selling the shares now.

Happy and good luck trading/investing..
