Dunno why when I went yesterday no mood to take photos, maybe cos I got no kaki kot haha laugh.gif

Oh btw I saw a familiar face at the chevy cruze display below. One of the nikon girls during Nikon 1 launch biggrin.gif

Cindy. I saw some photo of her lol.

I suggest or recommend only, far from advise. celciuz would probably recommending the same.

Given you bought such an expensive lens, you want to put cheapo filter in the front element to degrade the quality? You make the calculation smile.gif
D7000 on 50 f/1.4? What settings you used for that shot?

You can push way up to 3200. I would say, better worry about getting sharp photos first before the noise level. Noise can be minimized with post-processing.
*
Yes. I always recommend Hoya over the B+W. But seems like the new nano easy to clean already.

Still considering whether to visit KLPF or not. Got work in the office. Anything interesting up there beside Nikon1?
*
Nikon 1 not available for demo / testing as per Nikon Msia FB. Sigh.

I'm still going though, gonna check out the Fuji x10.

X10? Garbage! whistling.gif
*
laugh.gif don't go into conclusion so fast, if you have not tried it. The x100 was awesome.

Just arrived back home, no hauls from KLPF. Boring event compared to DCIM 2010 for me.

Not to mention they didn't allow to try out the V1/J1. Makes things even more boring.

Will be getting the 85mm 1.4 soon, wondering should I upgrade to D7000 or not from my D90? D700 would be too expensive for me hmm.gif
*
D7000 is still a crop sensor. No point IMO. And trust me, you will probably go to D700 with the 85G. Happened to me laugh.gif .

Agree with celciuz, D700 is much better, FF still excels at noise, still at least 1 stop better than D7000. Don't rely on how great the D7000 ISO, some said very close or cleaner, but in real usage, you will notice it's noisier especially the dark areas. D700 at 1600 ISO is still very clean; There're some sites that does very detailed and proper review and you can clearly see that D700 is still much better, at least by 1 stop.
*
Another point is, diffraction kicks in later say at about f/11, where else for D7000 its f/9 (or lesser...)

I know, but budget won't allow me. I just can't buy it for now sad.gif Why did you go for the D700? Was it too tight?

The thing about the D7000 is the focus points. It's far superior than the D90, and coz I'm buying the 85 1.4G, I have to be very careful with the focusing right? Extra points = 2016 RGB pixel instead of 420 RGB pixel, superior ISO, body, etc etc smile.gif
I see, but the point is bro, it's not that I feel that the D7000 is equal to the D700, it's just that I can't afford it. So I'm thinking if it's better than the D90 like the D700 is better than the D7000 hmm.gif
*
It is still a DX sensor... its like upgrading from Myvi 1.3 to Myvi 1.5 LOL. No point... save up for something like D700 to make it worth it.

Yes, 85G is too tight indoors.

Fulamak... I like the lighting technique for this picture and how the details of the model really stands out smile.gif

Btw, is it existing ambient lighting or flash technique?
*
Ambient lighting, you know I'm always lazy to bring out my flash. Plus there's too many people around, no walls to bounce, ceiling too high and also no voice activated lightstand... ._. I was just changing my position (its hard... everyone's crowding there -.-) until I get this position and lighting biggrin.gif

HI, i am reading the D7k user manual.

In page 26 (lens VR), it mentioned that "do not turn the camera off or remove the lens while vr is in effect. If power to the lens is cut while CR is on, the lens may rattle when shaken...."

Does it mean that I need to slide the VR switch to ON each time I switch on the camera and slide the VR switch to OFF before i switch off the camera?
*
Happened to my 70200 before, I removed the lens while VR is still active doh.gif

I was wondering how come got a loose element >_<, when put back and when turn on it will lock back in place. Now I make it a habit to check my camera is totally turned off before changing lens.

If your lens have VR, then becareful. Or maybe that's why your 1635 has decentering problem? blink.gif

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Oct 11 2011, 01:55 PM)
I asked a photographer here. How's the D700? He said the colour was normal, no big difference compared to the D90. Only thing was it's full frame. He used a D90 + 70-200 VR1 before, then he swapped to 5D Mark II + 135 f2. He's happy till now coz he said the 5DMKII gives a nice tone to the picture hmm.gif
*
Power la that 'photographer'

QUOTE(FaezFarhan @ Oct 11 2011, 02:35 PM)
I agree  notworthy.gif Never ever end lol doh.gif
Will it still be natural?
Nothing special, just that he prefers the tone from the 5D.
No what I meant was he was happy with the D90, then he wanted to upgrade, so he choosed the 5D instead of the D700 because of the tone it gives out. And he's a good photographer IMO, doesn't care much about his gear. Most of the top photographers here uses 5DMKII doh.gif
*
Its subjective... to me color is usually not an issue la.. it depends on the photog after all.

Why bother comparing? If you are using a Nikon, you should be using f-mount lenses... and not Canon mount or Sony mount etc.

Many a time, people are very tempted to bump up saturation and use Vivid profile. While this may work on some shoots, it works horrible on skintones. When you shoot with flash or at high ISO, the skintone looks overcooked.

Stick to Standard or Neutral picture style.
That's the most ignorant statement ever made. Where is here? Here as in Malaysia or here as in LYN forum?
*
I like Vivid wub.gif even for my portraits laugh.gif
