You shouldn't compare different type of lenses like that. Each that you mentioned above has different focal lengths and arguably different superiority in different situation. I would suggest you to look at
what you need than
what you can afford.
Actually, I think I developed different style when I started using different lens and gears... From D90 --> D700, lens of different ranges.. my style changed since I first shooting...

Portrait lens is a well... I think it is more of a bokeh lens LOL. But, wide angles, zoom lens etc all can do portrait as well, just without the bokeh subject isolation.

If you are referring to the subject isolation aka bokeh, no way.
. Even the 70200 VR2 only comes close, but the bokeh a little diff. One is due to big aperture, f/1.4, another is the focal length, 200mm.
