1. D700 cost rm 5800 to 6200 now and if D800 is out, it will cost 300,000 yen according to nikonrumors.com. should be around rm 12,000. street price is cheaper so it should be like rm 10,500. there is a huge price difference here. are you prepared to pay?

2. D700 = 12MP whereas D800 = 36MP (according to nikonrumors.com again) do you need that high of resolution?

3. Please pair the D700/D700s/D800 or whatever awesome camera that you are planning to get with an equally awesome lens. is changing lenses a pain in the arse for you? if not, why don't consider prime lenses? is manual focus a pain in the arse for you? if not why don't consider carl zeiss? 24-70 lens is awesome by the way

If im you i might carry a 16-35 f4 vr , and 50mm prime for travelling only.
Also depends where you travel 

hi all fellow nikonians,
i am currently in dilemma regarding issue whether to go for 50mm f/1.8g @ sb700.

my current gear were basic d90 with 18105vr

were graphic student and my budget were below rm800 atm to spend.. normally i would prefer to shoot human/portrait on daily basis.
there will be some portrait assignment coming on later, as i read prime were good for portrait and the flashgun also play important role within that category..

i know there definitely will be some limitation without the flashgun, but would 50mm f/1.8g justifies for the price? would it be sufficient enough for portraiture shot? i also inclined toward flashgun but with these rm800 budget, i am totally torn on which to choose on the first buy.

im leaning toward 50mm but the flashgun would also come in handy, whats your call on this guys?

or take cash ealier few days? like split 4 days each take 2k myr each time?
if the ATM machine limit you take 2k per day...

What is you all understanding from the article?

if the policy apply to Malaysia,

Meaning that all shop must sell at recommend retail price?

From what i read, this policy will not apply to Euro because their law prohibited such practice.

How about Malaysia?

Is a sales strategy to imply that they sell it really cheap. Plus he told u the price drop is to make u had a mindset that it is cheap by that time and also gives u an urge to buy it on the spot as well. However, RM11,700 is still kinda cheap i reckon in fact it is approximately $300 dollars cheaper when compared to grey imports. Good deal there

I reckon there is no restriction that sellers should sell at RRP. It is just a "recommended retail price" however I believe Nikon will set a price floor in the market to ensure competitiveness.

wide and macro lens i think... or wide and tele lens...

EDIT : OMGOSH. I checked properly again, actually the lens came out abit. The button to take out the lens was 'pressed down' already. No wonder it didn't AF.

Last week, I played with my D7000 Auto mode and manual mode. With the same aperture, shutter speed, ISO and flash setting, I found that image taken using Auto mode looks better in terms of colour. Any particular reason?

When I viewed the picture taken in the camera, i press up or down on the mode dial, the setting of ISO, shutter speed and aperture for both pictures taken will appear, it is exactly the same ISO, shutter speed and aperture. the ONLY difference is there is some "AUTO thingy" shown at the most bottom right for the the picture taken by AUTO mode! Anyone know what is this which cause the difference between 2 photos taken?

Good question! I did not change any of those! I believe WB is the same! Will auto mode automatically select the picture control? So far, I have never changed and play with picture control setting yet! If we are selecting the manual mode, do you normally still play with the picture control setting for every photo you take?

I was wondering if there is going to be a replacement for D700, because i thought of buying a D700.... Advise anyone?

maybe the auto WB messed up?
