Had a problem with my USB, couldn't charge with PC, only can be detected when the phone was in restore/DFU mode. So I was forced to restore. I saw a vid that had the solution to downgrade from iOS5 to 4.3.3. I did try it on my iPod touch with great success, but for the iPhone 4, I think cos my baseband got updated which is why it cannot downgrade to 4.3.3, even with custom IPSWs and what not. Couldnt detect the carrier. I think the way to have upgraded to iOS5, then downgrade to 4.3.3 is to preserve the baseband before updating, not sure about this tho.

Added on December 6, 2011, 5:17 pmCurrently on semi-tethered. Pretty stable. But don't install CameraLocker (iOS 5 Cydia tweak), that was the reason behind my random reboots. So far after uninstalling it, no reboots.

i dunno if my case is cause by the downgrade. after go to 4.3.3 from 5.0, i cant mod the carrier logo, where the logo didnt change as usual. and after a day, the carrier files got prob, where my phone can't connect to edge@3g. then go back to 5.0, things back to normal. and now, i'm quite worry to downgrade back to 4.3.3

Oh ya one very important thing to note before you downgrade to 4.3.3...
You can't restore your 5.0 backup to 4.3.3... iTunes will not allow
Hence you'll lose all of your backup settings/SMS/Contacts/Emails/Bookmarks etc...

Couldn't go into DFU mode to save my SHSH yesterday, was scared for a moment but found out it was my home button that was screwed up. Never had this problem before. Anyone have experienced Maxis warranty claim for an iPhone before? (Sorry a bit off topic)

Anyone having trouble getting notifications with whatsapp after jailbreaking? Over wifi that is, on the iPhone 4.

Yes I am running iOS 5 on an iPhone 4. Over wifi sometimes my whatsapp don't send notification for new messages. I found the problem is caused by the iPhone 4 automatically disconnecting for wifi when on standby.

i guess whatsapp prob... mine on 4.3.1, even on 3g, i dont receive message automatically sometimes.. need open whatsapp only get =/

I fixed my notifications based on this link, and also the following comment from this second link.

Backup everything with iTunes first just in case.

I'm on a iPhone 4, fresh restored from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1, currently semi-tethered; factory unlocked on Maxis prepaid. Windows 7.

1. Add repo.bingner.com to your Cydia sources.
2. Download SAM, it will also download a few other packages with it. Respring.
3. Go to Settings > SAM > Utilities and tap De-Activate iPhone. Reboot.
4. I plugged my iPhone in and started iTunes. iPhone still okay and detected.
5. At this point, since its semi-tethered/tethered because of iOS5. I went into DFU mode and ran redsn0w_win_0.9.9b8. Go to Extras > Select IPSW > iOS 5.0; then Just boot tethered right now.
6. iPhone now is back to the normal state when you first started. Go to Settings > SAM > Utilities and tap Backup Activation, De-Activate iPhone, Restore Activation. It should respring automatically, if not DIY.
7. Notifications work like a charm now. (For me at least) Not missing a single message on wifi connection.

Mine iOS 5 on iPhone 4 also got problem even when running on 3G. Guess it's whatsapp problem...

just now, i tried to downgrade my iOS from 5 to 4.2.1 but unfortunately, error 1015 pops out. When i downgrade to iOS 4.1, no error whatsoever pops out. On my Cydia main screen, it stated that only SHSH for iOS 4.1 and 4.2.1r1 were saved for my iPhone. How to find this iOS 4.2.1r1 instead of normal iOS 4.2.1?
