SG demographic different. Those who need size bigger than 50' most probably have big house and don't really need middle upper range like the 60ST60

After searching the web, the "Custom" mode in US version should be the "True Cinema" mode in Malaysia version.
But the setting range may be different.

May try this setting from UK version, which is from the www.hdtvtest.co.uk

Thanks for the tip.

myself is using this setting to ST50 too. it solved the over Red tone in true cinema mode.

i also apply the same setting to Normal & Cinema mode by changing the colour tone to Warm because they produce virtually similar with true cinema mode, except i lose colour management.
now i can easy switch 3 different contrast setting for morning (2.2 gamma), night (2.4 gamma) & eco (2.6 gamma)

btw, i found using aspect ratio "Just" is better than 16:9 in stopping judder and interpolation thumbup.gif
especially for PS3 user who cannot change 60hz output except during Bluray 24hz playback

before this was terrible. now i can enjoy downloaded movie with "intelli frame creation" & PNR turn off

When the unit is shown at the store, actually the screen will reflect the fluorescent light, or when other light source shine to the screen, you will see the greyish of the screen.
I have seen before at Best Denki Penang, they put the stupid spot light in the shop, whole shop, the 50ST50 screen look greenish, greyish, with much reflection.
OK, other LED LCD screen suffer as well at that store, which show great reflection on the reflective screen.

But.... If you put in darker room, like some dark show room in some shop, the black will be much blacker..... Indeed, very deep black.
This is the common scenario.

Will try it out.. Loving the tv cause its zoom1 is showing my 2.35:1 movies in full screen without cropping the side smile.gif still testing the best setting... Is there any case of faulty 50st50? Just a bit worried about the black screen. Anyway to test?

I'm still trying to convince my wife that this is a better tv than LG 47Lw5700... Haha...

Actually the black level on normal lit room is among the deepest in the world.
Black level is just one of the criteria to buy TV. Actually the overall performance is very important too, like the natural motion, color, viewing angle, all made the TV perfect.
For me, the most important thing that need to get right is picture quality.
Other criteria such as 3D, internet Smart TV feature, media playability, TV outlook, power consumption, sound quality, are not very important.
