You're right about the high tempo. Cleverley, Welbeck, Young.. and the kids at the back.. they just make us awesome going forward. It's a beginning of a new era indeed. But can't expect them to carry us all season long. That's where the old guys come in. And one thing about the old guys is that, they take a while to get going. Carrick especially(SAF mentioned it every year) only come alive in November or so.

i do think he can, we can now see he's involving himself more and more in the opposing half, but i can still see the cautiousness of his plays, so still needs some time to gain his momentum of finally going "box to box", same goes to Fletcher as well...once they achieve that, we will be flying again in no time

but i do hope our fullbacks will hold their position more as now our center is more open than before, and if even the fullbacks leaves hole, then we're shot defensively

Just to add something about squad depth. IMHO, we have too many forwards at the moment. Diouf, Macheda, Berba plus 3 key players which is Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. No, I am not saying Berba should be sold. Just that I am not sure what the future like especially Diouf and Berba.

On Carrick, we should keep him but only as backup.

Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez will both return from injury for Saturday's Barclays Premier League visit of Norwich City.

Sir Alex delivered the good news at his Friday press conference at Carrington, where he also indicated Jonny Evans could be fit to take his place in the back four.

Rooney, who has scored nine goals in his first five league games this term, hasn't played since the 3-1 win over Chelsea on 18 September, while Hernandez came off with a dead leg early in last weekend's draw against Stoke.

The Norwich game comes too soon for Nemanja Vidic, Tom Cleverley and Chris Smalling, who should be back for the trip to Liverpool on 15 October.

"Wayne and Hernandez are fit for tomorrow," Sir Alex said. "They trained very well yesterday, which is pleasing.

"We'll hopefully have Jonny Evans back too. At the moment we're making too many changes in the back four so hopefully his return will help us with the defensive part.

"Vidic, Cleverley and Smalling should be ready after the internationals and available for Liverpool."
