Debate is one thing. Most important to me, always respect the people. If you cannot even respect a Manchester United player, how can you even call yourself a Manchester United supporter?
Sack Fergie!!!! Sell Giggs Carrick!!!!!!!!!!!!

You never liked them doesnt mean you will have to highlight their mistakes every single time they performed below par. Did i see you mention anything when they play well? In fact in the Basel game i think Carrick is one of the better performer. Why not bash Rio for that game? Oh i forget, because you dont dislike Rio.

If i need to say, I definitely not a big fan or Michael Owen. Being a Liverpool player before and being signed when he's declining and slowed down, the only sensible thing i see in the deal is that its free signing. Heck even when he scored 2 against Leeds i dont sing his name. But did u see me talking thrash about him when he doesnt score? or when he doesnt run as fast as Rooney?

You like them or not, they are still United players. PERIOD. you like, or not, it doesnt matter. Nobody is forbidding you not to dislike them, but that doesnt mean criticism have to be given all the time. Learn how to appreciate what they can do rather than bashing them for not meeting your expectations. Is that too much to ask? Carrick has been with us since 2006, his strength and weaknesses is already known to everyone. Cant we all just accept it? for 5 years been complaining about him not playing creative passes or being 1 dimensional, still not enough? At the very bottom they are United player and still wearing the shirt and still giving their all to the team, even if its not the biggest of contribution. Cant you appreciate that and not demand more? Or do you want a big star who can run and hussle but if not being subbed earlier on, refused to play later on?

And then you have to bring in price tag as well. Overrated and overly expensive? Of all people SAF is the one who are tightest on the string purse, borderline stingy if i may say. So in what universe do you think he will splurge if indeed they are over priced?

So called "SUPPORTERS" we all. When watch game and played in a slow tempo, start complaining "match boring la", "wanna sleep" la. Are you watching the team to be entertained, or to SUPPORT? When players arent the type that we like or doesnt perform as we want them, we become JUDGE instead of SUPPORTERS.

Dont forget you CHOSE to support United, you CHOSE to watch the team and you CHOSE to stick to the team. So dont complain so much when it doesnt go your way.

Oh and 1 more thing: I'm being extremely honest here.

EDIT: forgot to mention that i am a fan since 2002. Yeah not long ago, not even 10 years. so probably not a big hardcore fans like many of u as well. If anything im probably just another glory hunter.

Let's use the same spoon on you, if you aren't willing to listen to different opinions that may vastly differ from yours don't come to this forum.

Let me check the dictionary for you.
Forum - A public meeting or assembly for open discussion

Open does not mean your opinion, others who agree with you and your opinion only, you need to learn a little maturity or you can stay in your hole and not come out and discuss differing opinions with others. It doesn't matter what your version of support is, if you cannot tolerate other supporters who have been supporting the club longer than you I suggest you go support a club whose fans will agree with YOUR opinion and YOUR views only.

Don't forget you CHOSE to come to this forum, nobody is forcing you to read and accept differing opinions from other supporters and you CHOSE to support a team who are well known to have over the top emotional supporters like any other football club and will make emotional decisions. If you don't have the maturity to handle it you can CHOOSE to join a bookworm club or some other team whose supporters will agree with your opinions and think likewise. You can also CHOOSE not to see those post or avoid coming to this forum.

I think you are wrong and let me explain why.
1. Carrick was definitely not one of the better performers. Yes, he didn't make any major mistakes and played his role but he definitely didn't add anything to the team. If that makes him 1 of our better performers then that's your definition and your opion.
2. If you read my previous post about the goals, i DID say it was Rio's fault and I will be 1 of the first to admit that Rio's form in the last 2-3 seasons have not been up to par as he's hardly ever been 100% fit.
3. You need to relise that stating the FACTS and voicing our opinions doesn't mean we don't support them. I do still support them because they wear the Man Utd jersey and they play for the team. But that doesn't mean that there aren't better players within the squad that I feel would deserve that place ahead of them.
4. There is a difference between being a negative and being blindly stupid. You are being the latter. Everyone has their faults and their weaknesses, I'm purely stating my opinion for that. It's not like I said Carrick SUX and then left it at that. I explained where I'm coming from and I believe my reasonings are justified by his performances. Do realise that I'm not saying that they do not deserve to be Man Utd players and should be sold as soon as possible. The only reason I said Berbatov should have been sold is because we can probably get a good price for him, I'm not saying we should sell if for any amount of money we can get our hands on.
5. FYI I'm not a Tevez fan either, he's a tantrum thrower and a terrible person. It's difficult to understand how such an unselfish player on the field is so selfish off the field. Plus, I'm not saying we need to get new "star" players, I'm saying use the other players in the team, give the young ones a try.
6. How can you say that SAF is borderline stingy? He's proven that he's ready to break transfer records when need be. I guess your limited years of being a Man Utd fan is clearly showing here. He paid a then British transfer records to get Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Veron and Rio. He has also invested heavily in young talent which was questioned at that time, paying £12.24 million for a virtual unknown 18 year old called Cristiano Ronaldo, a 19 year old called Luís Carlos Almeida da Cunha (that's Nani if you don't know) for €25.5 million and around £20.4 million for Anderson. I personally believe that no matter what the price is, I'll believe in SAF's decision and there is a reason why he brought these players in and I'll support them as Man Utd players but at the same time I hope they will prove their worth to the team and to SAF. I doubt you can call SAF borderline stingy, while not as trigger happy as our City managers or Roman's boys or even the Galaticos, he is no Scrooge.
7. In the first place, you are not me. I've never complained about Man Utd being boring. They are a joy to watch. The important thing is the result and of course that the team played well. I didn't know to support a team means you cannot have an honest opinion besides everything about the team is great. Nothing needs to be improved, we'll win everything just the way we are. If/when we lose or draw means the referee blind or the opponent cheated or whatever other rubbish. You need standards to improve and I don't know about you but I have Man Utd standards which are high standards.
8. If I were to complain when things don't go my way, I would have stopped supporting the team between 2003-2006 when we had a dry spell. Important thing is to have standards and thrive/hope the team will improve and challenge for more honours every year, which is what SAF excels in because he invests in youth and knows that the best combination is youth and experience.

I do think you are right about 1 thing, you are probably just another glory hunter =P

Update on injury news: -

Javier Hernandez is expected to return in attack after suffering a dead leg at Stoke, but Wayne Rooney's absence may continue - he was only jogging on Monday as he recovers from a hamstring injury. The Reds could be short of numbers at the back again, after Chris Smalling (groin) and Jonny Evans (ankle) both missed the Basel match alongwith longer-term absentees Nemanja Vidic and Rafael. Meanwhile, the midfield ranks look healthy with only two - Tom Cleverley and Darron Gibson - ruled out.

btw, just curious. Will SAF give Lindergaard a chance against Norwich because DDG already played against Basel? hmm.gif

i dont know why we keep single out player for mistake or bad result or even a draw...its a team game...TEAM sport...even the player will admit it its the team performance that let them down...they need to improve to play for each other...for me...if 1 player had a bad game...its their team mate fault that they didnt help him played well...the word is TEAM...it mean they hav to GEL together...TOGETHER-GETHER...its a 25 man squad...n u hav to pick 11 to start each game...with many rotation here n there...n still performing the same winning way n mentality...the mentality is there for me...its just the game...they are different individual that bring different dimension...barca only play one style of game play...every single player they hav is like for like...n they r the best at it...we r diff...we hav many type of game play...but the player sync n combination is not really there yet...for the first 4 game we win...thats the line up is what really combine well...then we got danny out, tom out, smalling, rooney, chica...n surely we hav to rotate the squad n play differently...cos there is diff player n line up starts...what i mean is...i like the line up we hav in the first 4 game..young side, energetic, brave to go forward, hard working, work for each other...even lack of experience n conceded easy goal like all said...i still think the game is positive n full of excitement...

then after all the injury...comes the old timer...they got the experience...but they dont get the result...n for me...the game play dont excite me like our young lads bring...they r not working for each other...its just that...they not yet sync with each other...hopefully we can get it rite soon...cmon lads...glory glory MAN UTD...

@Quick if you are reading, now u see what I meant? Already anticipate the type of respond i'll get laugh.gif

I really have nothing else to say. So much for discussing who is worthy to stay in the team and who needs to be sold. Carrick not proving his worth? I guess SAF is old and senile for keeping to play him. Maybe someone from here can be the next manager.

And please, like I've said to another poster here before. If you want a certain player to be sold, at least grow a pair and say the reason is because you don't like them. Don't cloud it behind the almighty glorious reason of trying to improve the team. If they are really that deteimental to the club, SAF of all people would have ship them out, you won't even have the chance to post it here. You and SAF, who do you think knows more about what is for the good of tue club? Don't compare yourself to me la, I'm only a glory hunter. But argue your case with SAF's preference of Carrick.

@tak3shi, so if someone posts a differing opinion in this forum it is "discussion", then if I post something that is countering to their opinion, I am a cult and immature and not respecting? If someone criticizes the club and players they are "discussing" and "free to say whatever they want" in a "public forum". But when I counter their argument I show no respect ro them laugh.gif got it now.

PS: Tak3shi, Konichiwawa and more recently Takuhiro. What an amazing coincidence laugh.gif

You restrict the right for others to support their club on a public forum so I'm using the same measurement on you. That different opinion doesn't restrict or condemn you in this least bit so who the hell are you to tell them off?

You lack common sense, there's nothing open about your discussion. They criticize the players, you criticize the forumers which part of that is equal? If you countered by talking about the positive points the players bring instead of the negative point that is a discussion on the same topic. You judge therefore you're judged with equal measure.

I can't be bothered by your low blow personal attacks, you've shown in your post time and time again a lack of maturity and the ability to participate in objective open discussion, I would go further but it would be a waste of time and breath.

low blow personal attacks? did i call others being blindly stupid?

And cant be bothered? yet still replying to me?

my point is simple, as a supporter there are better ways to support the player than to ask those less-than-awesome ones to be sold. Put yourself in Carrick's shoes for example. He is being a good professional, turning up to training day and night, doesnt even go out clubbing and jeoperdize his career, and giving his all for the club, even though understanding he probably isnt the best CM in the team. He doesnt complain, he plays when asked and sits on the bench if it has to be because it is for the best of the club, as deemed by SAF. Now if you are him, and then finds out fans are asking for him to be sold just because he isnt like Robbo or Keano, how would you feel?

Berba is even awesomer. Dropped for the UCL final FFS! IF that had been any other "mega million" player he would have packed his bag that very night! But he decided to stay on and fight for his place, even when probably down to 4th in the pecking order in the striker's department. Yet when needed to play for the last 5 minutes, he comes in. But i guess that doesnt matter because he doesnt perform too well, so can sell him for a bit of a cash.

What we need now is squad depth. Selling these players wont do any good. What, gonna buy Schweinsteiger with that money? So what if we can get Schweinsteiger? then Cleverley would sit on the bench wouldnt him? then he wont reach his full potential. If that happens then fans would say "oh he isnt improving enough, wont be a top player. Why not sell him?" It's a vicious cycle wouldnt it? When will it stop?

Did i once asked anybody to stop supporting the club? On the contrary i acknowledge that he is a supporter, and as a supporter there are better attitude towards the team. think of their contribution to the team as a whole, on-field and off-field, not just the 90 minutes he played on Tuesday. Thus my comment "if you deem yourself as a supporter, then SUPPORT instead of demanding to be satisfied". Did i ask anyone to support other clubs? or get lost from this forum? And like you said this is a public forum. If you want to post about selling players, then be prepared for replies that you probably wont like. Just like i have anticipated replies to mine, which i know is along the lines of what you just said: denying other's right to post etc.

restricting other's rights to post in this forum would be to ask a mod to delete any posts that i disagree with. Just countering an argument now becomes a restriction as well? I do not try to hide posts that i dont like, i do not try to get those i disagree with to be banned. Instead i reply to them head on, i can be sarcastic if i want but i chose to type out long windy and annoying posts. Or is that a restriction now?

in any case, i'll stop. Pretty sure others are tired of this too. But if they have their own opinion and would like to share (instead of 2 keyboard warriors b****slapping each other), then feel free coz like all of you said, this is a free forum.

Maybe i'll continue with sarcasm after this. at most sarcasmn will get warnings from mod only, if i reply full walls of text i'm deemed to be a forum Nazi.
