ok. i'd say both lucky not to lose, fair result to both teams. maybe ref sucked for us in some occasion*obviously on early chicarito accident* but stoke also missed some good chances, more than us. good result anyway, they are really hard to beat, I wish it was park instead of welbeck who came on, to form 4-5-1 and give more energy and running ball down the ground, midfielders looked really tired before last 15 minutes, but well I never doubt saf's choice
*
Agree with u, except the wellbeck/park part. 70 minutes in probably not the best time to control the match, but rather someone fresh upfront who can sneak in a goal.

I think Ramli is still too much of a gamble to start against Basel. Sure he scored his first goal, but i think he has much to learn and adapt. It was pretty obvious that he was excited when joining United, he needs to be more composed if he wants to play in and out every week. Language can also be a problem, Havent heard his interview yet so not sure if he can speak English well or not.

But its pretty amazing story for a boy who barely scored 2 goals for his school and doesnt have full support of his dad who pretty much wants him to continue his studies, at least a couple of A's in the exam, and now replaces Welbeck in the United's striker pecking order.

Michael Carrick Successful Pass Rate: 97% (76/78), (40/41 Forward, 28/28 Backward, 13/14 Square) Attacking 3rd Pass Rate: 100% (28/28)

its both fullbacks who constantly left huge holes behind them that we were caught red handed by Basel
*
screw stats.

if a game we dont get results, im sure theres someone responsible. If not, takkan just draw like that? Someone gotta take responsibility. Defence is leaky, but unfortunately Evans not in the team. Gibson used to squander lots of chances by simply shooting, but he also not in the team. So the only course of action is obviously to look at Carrick. doesnt matter how good he is now, no use. We all already lose hope in him, he no hope already. Am i right guys, who's with me!

You never liked them doesnt mean you will have to highlight their mistakes every single time they performed below par. Did i see you mention anything when they play well? In fact in the Basel game i think Carrick is one of the better performer. Why not bash Rio for that game? Oh i forget, because you dont dislike Rio.

If i need to say, I definitely not a big fan or Michael Owen. Being a Liverpool player before and being signed when he's declining and slowed down, the only sensible thing i see in the deal is that its free signing. Heck even when he scored 2 against Leeds i dont sing his name. But did u see me talking thrash about him when he doesnt score? or when he doesnt run as fast as Rooney?

You like them or not, they are still United players. PERIOD. you like, or not, it doesnt matter. Nobody is forbidding you not to dislike them, but that doesnt mean criticism have to be given all the time. Learn how to appreciate what they can do rather than bashing them for not meeting your expectations. Is that too much to ask? Carrick has been with us since 2006, his strength and weaknesses is already known to everyone. Cant we all just accept it? for 5 years been complaining about him not playing creative passes or being 1 dimensional, still not enough? At the very bottom they are United player and still wearing the shirt and still giving their all to the team, even if its not the biggest of contribution. Cant you appreciate that and not demand more? Or do you want a big star who can run and hussle but if not being subbed earlier on, refused to play later on?

And then you have to bring in price tag as well. Overrated and overly expensive? Of all people SAF is the one who are tightest on the string purse, borderline stingy if i may say. So in what universe do you think he will splurge if indeed they are over priced?

So called "SUPPORTERS" we all. When watch game and played in a slow tempo, start complaining "match boring la", "wanna sleep" la. Are you watching the team to be entertained, or to SUPPORT? When players arent the type that we like or doesnt perform as we want them, we become JUDGE instead of SUPPORTERS.

Dont forget you CHOSE to support United, you CHOSE to watch the team and you CHOSE to stick to the team. So dont complain so much when it doesnt go your way.

Oh and 1 more thing: I'm being extremely honest here.

EDIT: forgot to mention that i am a fan since 2002. Yeah not long ago, not even 10 years. so probably not a big hardcore fans like many of u as well. If anything im probably just another glory hunter.

@Quick if you are reading, now u see what I meant? Already anticipate the type of respond i'll get laugh.gif

I really have nothing else to say. So much for discussing who is worthy to stay in the team and who needs to be sold. Carrick not proving his worth? I guess SAF is old and senile for keeping to play him. Maybe someone from here can be the next manager.

And please, like I've said to another poster here before. If you want a certain player to be sold, at least grow a pair and say the reason is because you don't like them. Don't cloud it behind the almighty glorious reason of trying to improve the team. If they are really that deteimental to the club, SAF of all people would have ship them out, you won't even have the chance to post it here. You and SAF, who do you think knows more about what is for the good of tue club? Don't compare yourself to me la, I'm only a glory hunter. But argue your case with SAF's preference of Carrick.

@tak3shi, so if someone posts a differing opinion in this forum it is "discussion", then if I post something that is countering to their opinion, I am a cult and immature and not respecting? If someone criticizes the club and players they are "discussing" and "free to say whatever they want" in a "public forum". But when I counter their argument I show no respect ro them laugh.gif got it now.

PS: Tak3shi, Konichiwawa and more recently Takuhiro. What an amazing coincidence laugh.gif

You restrict the right for others to support their club on a public forum so I'm using the same measurement on you. That different opinion doesn't restrict or condemn you in this least bit so who the hell are you to tell them off?

You lack common sense, there's nothing open about your discussion. They criticize the players, you criticize the forumers which part of that is equal? If you countered by talking about the positive points the players bring instead of the negative point that is a discussion on the same topic. You judge therefore you're judged with equal measure.

I can't be bothered by your low blow personal attacks, you've shown in your post time and time again a lack of maturity and the ability to participate in objective open discussion, I would go further but it would be a waste of time and breath.
*
low blow personal attacks? did i call others being blindly stupid?

And cant be bothered? yet still replying to me?

my point is simple, as a supporter there are better ways to support the player than to ask those less-than-awesome ones to be sold. Put yourself in Carrick's shoes for example. He is being a good professional, turning up to training day and night, doesnt even go out clubbing and jeoperdize his career, and giving his all for the club, even though understanding he probably isnt the best CM in the team. He doesnt complain, he plays when asked and sits on the bench if it has to be because it is for the best of the club, as deemed by SAF. Now if you are him, and then finds out fans are asking for him to be sold just because he isnt like Robbo or Keano, how would you feel?

Berba is even awesomer. Dropped for the UCL final FFS! IF that had been any other "mega million" player he would have packed his bag that very night! But he decided to stay on and fight for his place, even when probably down to 4th in the pecking order in the striker's department. Yet when needed to play for the last 5 minutes, he comes in. But i guess that doesnt matter because he doesnt perform too well, so can sell him for a bit of a cash.

What we need now is squad depth. Selling these players wont do any good. What, gonna buy Schweinsteiger with that money? So what if we can get Schweinsteiger? then Cleverley would sit on the bench wouldnt him? then he wont reach his full potential. If that happens then fans would say "oh he isnt improving enough, wont be a top player. Why not sell him?" It's a vicious cycle wouldnt it? When will it stop?

Did i once asked anybody to stop supporting the club? On the contrary i acknowledge that he is a supporter, and as a supporter there are better attitude towards the team. think of their contribution to the team as a whole, on-field and off-field, not just the 90 minutes he played on Tuesday. Thus my comment "if you deem yourself as a supporter, then SUPPORT instead of demanding to be satisfied". Did i ask anyone to support other clubs? or get lost from this forum? And like you said this is a public forum. If you want to post about selling players, then be prepared for replies that you probably wont like. Just like i have anticipated replies to mine, which i know is along the lines of what you just said: denying other's right to post etc.

restricting other's rights to post in this forum would be to ask a mod to delete any posts that i disagree with. Just countering an argument now becomes a restriction as well? I do not try to hide posts that i dont like, i do not try to get those i disagree with to be banned. Instead i reply to them head on, i can be sarcastic if i want but i chose to type out long windy and annoying posts. Or is that a restriction now?

in any case, i'll stop. Pretty sure others are tired of this too. But if they have their own opinion and would like to share (instead of 2 keyboard warriors b****slapping each other), then feel free coz like all of you said, this is a free forum.

Maybe i'll continue with sarcasm after this. at most sarcasmn will get warnings from mod only, if i reply full walls of text i'm deemed to be a forum Nazi.

instead of putting the whole link into the [ youtube] tag, you need to extract the red part of a link. For example:

http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v= 1mq5MNhShko

need to copy the part after the "v=" and put it into the youtube tag, only then it will work.

QUOTE(likeicare @ Sep 30 2011, 11:17 AM)
Just to add something about squad depth. IMHO, we have too many forwards at the moment. Diouf, Macheda, Berba plus 3 key players which is Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. No, I am not saying Berba should be sold. Just that I am not sure what the future like especially Diouf and Berba.

On Carrick, we should keep him but only as backup.
*
I'll be honest, i dont know as well. Striker's abundance i noticed since last season already. When Bebe was bought (and his original position is a forward) i was like "another striker?" But he was used as a winger instead. But so far everyone knows their role, so as long as nobody is getting unsettled, too much isnt a problem i guess. For example early on this season we have plenty of defenders, some even questioned buying Jones coz he might potentially cause Smalling a spot in the team. We have Evra, Vidic, Rio, Smalling, Rafael, Fabio, Jone, Evans and before they were sold, Oshea and Brown. 10 players for 4 spots, before the duo moved to Sunderland. But from the 8, 2 is confirmed out and 3 potentially as well, leaving us with Evra, Rio and Jones. Might even see Valencia fill RB again. Rio himself also probably not fully fit. But yeah this is an example of how deep your squad is, can be stretched to the brink. Thus more is better than less, as long as the players doesnt complain.

just an example la...we wouldnt know who would get injured in the future. Later Owen croocked, Chicharito gets another knock, here and there dont be surprised if Berba + Macheda upfront with Diouf on bench tongue.gif But for striker we can play 1 striker, as opposed to defenders which is priority to get 4 bodies there.

like i said, as long as not of them becomes disgruntled i wouldnt be too concerned.

those regulars at Stretford End and other season ticket holders are hardcore and wont boo the club, while the smaller percentage of the "tourist" spot ones probably wanna enjoy and savour the moment at OT instead of booing, especially us Asians visitors who will whip out the camera and *Ka-chak!* laugh.gif
