Just bought the sony wireless headset. What's the problem with firmware and the headset actually?

my ps3 didn't hang when i close the browser. strange...

The 4.10 updated introduced mic monitoring feature to the headset. Now you can actually hear your voice during chat (so you know when you're actually shouting to the mic). But the feature brought 2 problems. No noise filter (you can hear your wife's voice in the kitchen) and you cannot turn off the mic. The only way you can turn off the mic currently is by disabling it via XMB.

There is no way to downgrade the firmware...

the firmware changes also affect my official sony bluetooth hate-phone (the small RM130 one)
if i muted it, after a while it will unmute by itself.. lol..

but the firmware doesn't mess up my A40
same goes to other 3rd party headphone

guess only the 'official' hate-phone are affected

Just updated to 4.11 last night. Used online update with unifi 5 mbps. Around 15-20 mins kau tim.

No problems hanging whatsoever. Connected to Dark Souls all night and played online games no problem (even back with 4.10) and my PS3 is 2+ yrs old.

My guess is for those surfing internet when Sony request you to patch 4.11 it will hang. Definitely u cannot go online because the minute u sign in, they will request you to upgrade.
