Hi BSCan,

I don't think I can move in to BSC in the next 1-2 years, due to anak-anak schooling around PJ area and a lot of traveling time is needed... if we've moved to BSC now.

Instead of leaving the house empty (Areca), I am thinking of renting it, any ideal the rental for the Areca 22x75 intermediate/facing south unit?

Btw, also consider selling it... if there is a reasonable offer - actual market value/price. If you or your relatives/friends are interested, please PM me. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks.

We have been traveling to and fro many times a week to Petaling Jaya. Our petrol and tol cost increased by around RM 200 a month for a 1.8cc car. This is ok considering how much more we save from monthly home instalment. We don't have schooling issue. Our trips are for shopping variety and food. Although food choices are ok in BSC from nearby Alam Jaya shops, Tesco and Desa Coalfields, we find the cleaniness of these places other than inside Tesco, unsatisfactory. The Ong Kee Restaurant is ok but there is a rusty decomposed car parked next door. Occasional strong wind can whip up fine rust dust or germs. A few rotting cars are parked outside the rows of shop there. Complained to local authorities already but nothing done in more than a month. Most of the shoplots surrounding there are not well maintained at all. Shop fronts look dirty!

As for Alam Jaya, food is delicious at Riza Rich and Temerloh but nearby 2 rubbish shoots bring foul smell to these outlets.
There are many other outlets along Jln. Kuala Selangor serving delicious food but too near the trunk road, exposing food to dust and tyre dirt blown by strong wind! These outlets should be at least covered and air-conditioned for basic hygiene.๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Entering Bandar Seri Coalfields is like heaven. It is clean and new. Hope the new shops there can render it self sufficient with many food choices at least. Restaurant Al-yusof is preparing to open with some renovation.๐Ÿ˜‹

Edited post read as:
Cheap and easy travel: tol only RM 1.40 from BSC by using Guthtrie Highway to join Kelana Jaya LDP. Just set your GPS from: current location to Kelana Jaya LDP. Time taken: 34 minutes with normal traffic. Route: from BSC exit turn left to Jln J. Selangor, pass Penjara, 2 left turns to Guthrie, turn left exit when you see a signboard 'Kota Damansara' -go a short distance and exit left, when you see a sign "Jln. Sg. Buloh", turn left. Ignore a small left turn at the extreme left that is specially going to the Fella building, take the one next to it to Jln. Sungai Buloh - go straight pass 4 traffic lights then keep to the right lane heading to the 5th traffic light*, turn right where you see a yellow dome mosque on your right, petrol station Petron and Caltex, that is the right turn into Jln. Lapangan Subang, pass all the airport terminals and further up till you see a roundabout, go straight up the viaduct, see a big pale green glass building on the left ie. Sime Darby building, go straight further till you see 'Pusat Dagangan Kelana, turn left, turn left at next junction where you see MAS building on the left, turn left into LDP. You will pass Paradigm Mall and Giant Hypermart, then Taman Megah to 1 U or head right to Tropicana City Mall or further to Sri Hartamas Plaza Damas. Can eat, watch a movie and shop till you drop.. ๐Ÿ˜„.

CAUTION : Some parts of the lapangan terbang road and jln. sungai buloh get slightly flooded when raining.

*if you go up further and after passing by a few flower/landscape outlets, and turn right at a traffic light, you can head towards Aeon, or Giant Kota Damansara instead for grocery needs.

Thanks for sharing, Supreme1394.

Actually, I prepared to move to BSC, I traded my 8+ years old Avanza for a Mitsubishi Mirage last year, the Mirage is about 35-40% saving on petrol than the Avanza. The main concern is traveling time during peak hours, especially sending kids to school and back to home.

I am staying in Bandar Sri Damansara at the moment, it take 30-45mins (one way) to send one of my kid to school in PJ, I think it will take additional one hour from BSC to PJ during peak hours, there are many activities in the school, i might need to travel more than one trip a day... Further more, I have another younger kid in primary school with different schooling hours... I don't think I can handle it, unless I am a 'big taukeh' and no need to work tongue.gif

After thinking for 6 months... Decided to let go the Areca with very 'sakit hati' cry.gif

We like the BSC township and the houses, big and good value, but too bad and too sad... We cannot stay in BSC.

Hope all BSCian enjoy staying there!

All the best to you. ๐Ÿ˜ If changing school cannot be done, it IS a problem. How to travel so many times a day up and down! Ours is only once a day.

Some Banyan Phase 1 semi-ds are doing ongoing renovation. My neighbouring units are unoccupied but a look at the water/electricity bills partially sticking out from the post box have individual names on them. There are a few units on sale by agents claiming to be working for the developer. Interested can call KLK. Really big and spacious!

The above posting was further checked and edited for road direction accuracy. May help those without GPS to go to PJ.

Thanks Supreme1394.

I think BSC is ideal place for retiree or new young families, there will be new schools around BSC in the next few years and young families' kids can enroll the schools near by. Unlike my situation... with kids in primary and secondary school, a bit hard to change school 'half-way'.

Well, schooling is a very important factor to consider.
