QUOTE(yok70 @ May 16 2013, 03:17 AM) wow...it really works for these machines! Yes, those machines have algorithms programmed to recognize the key moving averages and once they broke, they get the "SELL" signal and flush down the toilet. Whooshh!! if it breaks 380, I guess it will test the 350-360 land? but it's a bit tricky now, since the 50/20 days MA line is about to cross over to the bull category. Volume is steady and RSI at upper but falling slowly....what's your opinion? google looks like previous apple now.... The consolidation price action of 350-360 was heavily defended back between Aug and Oct of 2011. Before we get down to there, the late comers will probably buy at 380-400 level giving it some support. In order to get there, the general market also have to pull back, not just AAPL. Overnight, there was the analyst who cited that AAPL could get to $240 based on his 50% ROIC model.. most bearish I have ever seen. This post has been edited by danmooncake: May 16 2013, 11:31 AM |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 16 2013, 10:59 PM) Soros sold 85% of his holding in Apple in 1Q 2013. WB long term everything... Soro's is hedge fund mgr, so he much shorter term everything chasing returns.Funny how, Soros almost sold all his holdings of banks and insurance companies, where WB continues to buy WFC. Many hedge funds also trimming their holdings of AAPL because it is over owned. Anyway, I'm out for AAPL shorts for now. Only for half of what I was expecting. Too many bargain hunters at 420-425 for now. Should have cover everything.. but oh well. Psst.. wanna to play another volatile stock? Take a look at TSLA (maker of luxury electric car). Yesterday pull back to below 80.. today gap to 90s. Lots of shorts on this one, squeezing still in play. This post has been edited by danmooncake: May 16 2013, 11:12 PM |

Hey guys,
I got short squeeze for JASO (most Solar related stocks are like screaming to upside with short squeeze) alert. They got announcement they can met up with their debt obligation. 70% to the upside pop (from low $6) from yesterday.. going to see if the move can continue.. Here's some trading ideas, if pop again above 10, that's a buy and run again. Define your stop at around 10 or buy again pulls back to 8.50 or so, stop at 8. Good luck and let's make some money! Cashing half on Silver (ZSL) on this pop here at 7% pop. Put rest on trailing.Looking for big short opportunity if GLD falls below 130 (GLL is 2x short for Gold). |

Watching AAPL CEO (T.Cook) testify to US congressional committee to answer questions on how/why they manage to escape
the burden of tax by using off shore tax haven. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 22 2013, 03:55 AM) No resolution but just fact finding by those slowpokes in Washington. It is nothing really illegal but they are taking advantage of the avoidance to pay hefty tax (35%) by not repatriating their massive cash earnings and leaving it with their oversea corp (AOI in Ireland) so that they can re-invest back into their oversea stores. Also, as they already acted, they would rather BORROW money at 2% interest and for share buy back and dividends than pay hefty tax on CASH that they already have to repatriate back to US. Not AAPL doing it but others like GOOG, MSFT, GE, CSCO and other multinational also doing the same thing. The problem is really the US corporate tax code to be blamed. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 22 2013, 02:39 PM) Well, if you're a CEO of one of the biggest public company in US and invited to testify in front of congress, you better show upotherwise something bad could spew up because you don't want to hide anything. AAPL testimony did nothing to hurt them but infact just highlight more shortcomings in US corporate tax laws which they are trying to change to favor more investment and growth. Right now, US taxes the companies (up to 35%) on profits (and if they bring it back), that's why a lot of multinationals prefer to keep them overseas. Furthermore, they don't buy US treasury eventho it is safe because the interest is too low. AAPL could have pay up to 25 bln more in taxes if they bring back the profits but they keep it off shore in a "stateless" with no tax residency. AAPL got some pretty smart accountants. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 22 2013, 08:45 PM) So the congress didn't request Job to attend such meeting before? He's so lucky. I think the US govt did ask Jobs to testify when he was still alive and CEO but it wasn't about tax issue. It was about privacy data collection by the iPhone after it was in the market for some time. Some users were concerned about how AAPL was collecting users info.35% is quite high, 100b becomes 65b, big loss on Apple stock valuation? Anyway, yeah their corp tax rate was quite high and I think US congress is going to change that to match up with other OECD countries like 15-20%. AAPL is asking for single digit tax rate (less than 10%). Aiyo.. where can? If US govt can cut 10-15% off the corp tax, I think a lot of companies will be quite happy but whether it will simulate more investment and job growth or not, that's a wait and see game. |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 23 2013, 03:23 AM) They are even talking about zero corporate tax to boost companies local investments and creates more jobs. Today reports that Chinese investors are heavily investing in US as well as other countries in the world. Looks like China itself has great population but lack of corporate friendly environment. The Chinese govt actually has pretty good corporate business environment and their tax rate is reasonable - that's why they're able to attract a lot of business. They only issue is they tend to favor their own rather than be open and fair to multinationals when it comes to certain services, - pretty much monopolistic and protective (just like Malaysia) and IP protection is very lacking. As for Chinese investors, most of them don't want to invest in their stock markets (like the Shanghai Stk Exchange) because they themselves don't trust it (irregular accounting scandals). A lot of the midsize to big Chinese companies choose to be listed in Nasdaq and NYSE instead. They got tons of USD and no where else to go but USA to spend it. All right guys, here comes another prelude to the correction. Bernanke spooks everyone with the one 'taper', meaning
they "may" - start to reduce debt buying if the economy starts to improve. We saw Dow reached all time high (15542) .. then lost 300 pts from the highs, though it looks as it only lost 0.5%. Nikkei lost 7% by just looking at the mirror. When market opens, time to make some money!! |

QUOTE(yok70 @ May 24 2013, 04:08 AM) I hope so .. DIA needs to come back down to 150 or 148 for more meaningful pull back. Here's another opportunity: Japan Nikkei (or the EWJ)! Big gap down in play. Last time it gaps down was in April, then it fills and go. This post has been edited by danmooncake: May 24 2013, 06:16 AM |
