Sorry i meAn lenovo..
Those grey import meaning ??

Btw whats the price for y500 ? The latest model after y580
*
Grey / Parallel import means the units sold by the resellers are not from Lenovo Malaysia, but from Lenovo overseas.
The units will have specs that is different from the specs released by Lenovo Malaysia, hence you may find it at different price point.
The sellers will tell you that the units are covered under Lenovo International Warranty. Some forumers have highlighted that buyers should read and fully understand the terms and conditions of the International Warranty, to ensure that Lenovo Malaysia will honour any warranty claims by the buyers.
See discussion here.

Hi guys, considering the current Notebook Price Catalog is almost going to expire, and not to mention FULL (I can't even add in newer models for the 11-14" notebooks now X____x)

I was wondering whether you guys have any suggestions on how to arrange the model/ specs in the upcoming catalog? notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I am thinking of separating 11-13" in post one; 14->15.6" in post two. Should be enough kua? laugh.gif

THanks in advance! notworthy.gif

No, as far as I know.
Z500, Z400, Y500, Y400 were announced by Lenovo Global more or less at the same time.
But so far we only see Y500 officially launched in Malaysia.
Ask devour sifu to see if he heard anything notworthy.gif
Any you never know, there could be some enterprising re-seller bringing in some grey imports laugh.gif

Brands bring different spec to different markets. What you see in Lenovo US may not be the same as what Lenovo Malaysia decide to launch here eventually spec wise. Also, Lenovo Malaysia don't offer customise / buying online, the spec is fixed, take it or leave it. If you really like it, wait for it to be launched, the sifus will definitely update it here.

Hi guys, i'm planning to buy a very portable laptop.

I'm looking for something that is light and slim, sturdy build quality (such as aluminium) with a screen of around 13~14" and would last me at least 4 hours of usage.

Best if it would have LED backlitted screen, chiclet keyboard, backlit keyboard, decent speakers and touchscreen that comes with Windows 8

No restriction for budget, but keep it low smile.gif

Look no further laugh.gif

128GB SSD drool.gif

add: and i7 too!!! drool.gif

Having an i7 will mean higher heat yo, especially so in slim ultrabooks laugh.gif
Anyway, the Spectre XT has touchscreen meh? tongue.gif

If the i5-3317U can't keep up, the i7-3517U won't do much different, since its just 0.2GHz faster...

i7 ULV is still slightly worse than i5 ULV in terms of heat.
What is your usage? i5 ULV is no slouch smile.gif

Touch screen without convertible is quite inconvinient (reaching across keyboard to touch). Try it for extended period of time, you hand will get tired smile.gif

Look at these then:
Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, i5-3317U + Nvidia G610M + 128GB SSD@RM3399, 4GB, 2 years; colors: grey/orange

Samsung 11.6" ATIV Smart Pro, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD + (1920x1080; touch)@RM3599[884g w/o keyboard], 4GB, stylus, W8; color: black (TJ's favourite smile.gif )

Taichi not in Malaysia yet.

Then the reliability issue comes in for Convertibles sad.gif

If I were to skip the touch screen:

My next choice will be the Asus UX31A-C4032H (the UX31 with an IPS screen drool.gif, price TBA)

That one has touch screen lah

This one don't
UX31A-R4005H, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD + (1920 x 1080)@RM3499[1.3kg], 4GB, W8

You cannot let go right? laugh.gif

Btw, no laptop has "decent" speakers tongue.gif

Dunhaf lol...

i7 really generate much more heat?

I'm afraid the CULV i5s can't keep up with those i5-3210m etc
Tried the cover before... Flimsy  sweat.gif
add:

Is this out yet?

Or this one:
Vaio 11 Duo, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1920x1080; touch) + 128GB SSD@RM3999[1.31kg], 4GB, W8, stylus

Personally I don't like it, but those sliding hinges feels sturdy. Just want to try to bang those hinge against a door / wall or something to see how it hold up laugh.gif
