I will give you a counter-proof. Go and look at Lenovo Thinkpad T series
You have to look at the model lines (budget, high end consumer, business, gaming ...) for general build quality. I hope you don't expect a RM1.5k laptop has the same build quality as a RM4k business laptop, even though the specs on paper seems to be identical.
Go to shops where there a lots of models and brands on display. Touch, poke, type, bend / press (if you dare ), look, listen, carry ... You will get a much better feel.
Don't just sit there and compare specs on paper

I have heard people saying Acer, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Apple, etc. etc. not good as well.
Does that mean better don't buy a notebook?

Each brand has different category of notebooks, some budget ones, some premium ones. Of course premium ones would have better quality (and thus reliability) than budget ones.. Conversely, don't expect premium grade quality if you are getting a budget line notebook, regardless of brands (with the exception of Apple since they don't have any budget line devices )

Even the premium grade can fail also.

Although the chances of getting bad apples in premium grade notebooks are lower (because of the better built, QC etc.), the probability is still there unfortunately. In which's case the warranty support of the company would come into play

S56CM has dual core 1.7GHz, Y480 has quad core 2.4GHz (i7-3630QM)
Y480 has better graphic card, better speaker, backlit keyboard.

Y580 is around RM29xx, except the imported set, runs below RM 2.5K with HD screen.

Those with 1 year warranty

its ok about the 1 year warranty,the problem is does lenovo last long?coz i may want to use it at least 5 years......

asus compare to lenovo which one has longer lasting because for me i prefer study than games i only 15

From what I have seen, Asus fail more

its how you use the laptop that determines how long it lasts not brand name, i have a lenovo y480 (intel centrino duo 1.5ghz, 3gb ram + 400gb hdd since 2008 and i still use it more than my newer laptop i bought 3 months ago. My friend bought an asus ferrari (14") in 2008 and he since replaced it cos his keyboard got damaged in 2010 and the asus centre were giving him headache to fix it. Besides trust me in < 5yrs you'll be looking to upgrade to a new laptop not because of your current laptop is spoilt/bad but because of new technologies that your current laptop cannot support.
