I've a feeling, there would be the i5 priced below RM3k and the i7 about RM3.5k.

i think these manufacturers take customers as fools.. they're hoping that people will buy anything that has ivy bridge on it.. 15.6" @ 1366x768? what the f**k is that?! gt 630m?! and for almost 4k?!

Googling online, saw an article. Not the real thing. I suppose that it might differ if launched in Malaysia. Best would be you ask the dealer himself... whether its GT640M or GT640M LE
*
So the GT640m LE is weaker than the GT640m? Damn and i was happy that sony's s15 will be having the gt640m le

When you have less expectations of a product, you tend to get disappointed less. laugh.gif

Don't see the "crippled" GPU as a problem since it's not a naming fiasco like the GT555M.

True about the first statement. i was so hyped for the n56 but what i've realised and is pissing me off now is how these manufacturers assume that customers are either desperate/stupid to shell out money on anything that has an ivy bridge processor on it. me and my friends saw the n56 in lowyat on saturday and the first thing they pointed out was the resolution is 1366x768, they couldn't believe that for the price rm3,599 that was what they were gonna get and we just simply walked away and went to the sony store, less than 10mins later they bought a sony vaio s 13.3" laptop with older specs (for less money of course). if asus just put a 1600x900 screen, they would've gotten those guys (and a lot of others) to buy, instead they want to use "ivy bridge" to sell their left over stock.

after the nonsense asus has pulled with the n56 i highly doubt the models that'll come to malaysia will have the same specs. i remember last year when the u41sv just came out, on asus malaysia site they said usb 3.0 was optional. I sent a mail to them asking them where i could get the one with usb 3.0 to which they replied that it DOESN'T COME WITH USB 3.0 AT ALL. even now if you go to the site the "optional" usb 3.0 is still there( http://my.asus.com/Notebooks/Superior_Mobi...#specifications ), so pls don't get your hopes up especially with asus

That's just the configurations available for different SKUs. The Malaysian SKU does not have a USB 3.0 port while the Singaporean version did.

Those specs are only speculated as nothing has been set in concrete.

So why is it on the website if it is not available/not going to be available? blink.gif the page is for asus malaysia not singapore, if it's not going to be available in malaysia then it should not be on malaysia's site plain and simple.

If only it had an optical drive bay, 7200rpm hdd instead of the 5400rpm, this one would be an ultra winner... that 2GB 640M is tempting though

I would've just bought this IF THEY HAD PUT A DVD DRIVE FOR THE MODELS WITH GT640!! doh.gif Sometimes I wonder who the hell makes the SKU decisions for them... they put a DVD drive in the models with weaker GPU and smaller resolution display and not in the models with the powerful GPUs and higher resolution displays? rclxub.gif

Somehow i always knew sony malaysia would F**K up and not bring the 15.5" model http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/15/sony-va...-bridge-upgrade full 1080p IPS gt640m le kepler e.t.c. I wonder who it is that makes these decisions for them... not everyone wants to look at 13"/14" laptop screens.
