Ini memang mau kena potong daylight kaw kaw.

Never take anything such as filter and etc from the shop....

Just take the body, and hunt for the lens elsewhere if the price is not gooding..

@William - Eii, you said you dun like the handling of a Kata, what you think of a Vanguard uprise series bag? laugh.gif

I just went to see the A65. Very nice model. At Sony Centre 1U, they don't have stock. They only had stock for pre-orders. They said it'll only arrive next month, but at RM 2999. Then I went to a shop called Foto Shangrila. The A65 there is 2850. + Tamron 18-270mm (RM2100) and UV Filter (180) The guy said the price is RM5130 total. Is it a good price?

NutZ748 : Which shop quoted you the A65 for 2.5k can tell me? The shop I went to sell me so expensive leh. If you're going back there, if can, can help me ask the price of A65 + Tamron 18-270mm + UV filter? Thanks. Very appreciated. (:

I personally don't like super zoom lenses because of the smaller aperature and the Image Quality that it produces...
you can also try it at Sony Centre(or sony style *i forgot it) at Sunway Pyramid...i had tried a while...and it feels kinda solid...at least better built than my previous A500...

A65 Body:
Sunway Pyramid ENATA quoted me Rm2500
Sunway Pyramid FOTOKEM quoted me RM 2520

ps* i asked a proper quotation after i wrote a list of equipments on the paper...
they are always glad to serve us thumbup.gif

But I feel RM 2850 for A65 Body only is very expensive. And the Tamron 18-270mm lens very expensive for RM 2100. May I ask, what price should I be expecting? For the Camera and Lens?

Roughly can get around 25xx for body only.

Not a fan of superzoom, so don't ask me the pricing but heck, I think my supplier here can offer perhaps better. No idea on pricing, encourage you to be hardworking like what Albert said..

Do your own research smile.gif

I'm already very hardworking. But then the price always turns out to be more expensive then I expected. Who's your supplier? Maybe I'll ask him.

Take a walk down bb plaza or such places. Look around. Ask each and every one.

Take 1 or 2 week before finalizing anything. That's how I got my A580 rather cheap when its 1st launched here smile.gif

signither: I forgot to ask the street prices. sad.gif Anybody knows how much the A77+16-50mm is?

kysham: I like the separation! Hmmm maybe I should do something like this composition but at F2.0. I'm sure the 24mm F2.0 renders less wirily.

ahpingko: Good uses of the fisheye! Of course you should do the stereotypical from-above fisheye shot. Everyone loves that!

Is it the one where the entire front opens up to the equipment compartment?

For normal usage, I don't recommend that, but if it's on an assignment where you have a safe place to put bags, then it's good as you can then bring more gear into the field.

The front can open to take out all equipment but there is a quick access slot at the side of the bag.

Err, I always sling my bag even my I am doing assignment with the cam. Used to it liao. Safety not an issue actually.

Sometimes I feel this bag is too big until i dunno whether the price is justified or not for buying such a huge and not so cheap bag. It's not like I am gonna use it regularly also. I only feel the need of using one when I go travelling, which is not that regular.

And you all know la, me not so rich ppl gears all small small nia blush.gif

But I think suit you la chia hau.. Since ungonna get few more bodies and full frame lens in the next few weeks.

If you want a sling, I'd recommend the Lowepro Slingshot. The Vanguard that you showed would be definitely too big for normal day usage. When I mean assignment, I meant such as weddings and dinners. You definitely wouldn't/can't lug the bag all around the place - but at the same time, you'd want most of your gears to be there when you need it (instead of being in the drybox back at home). Then that's where the Vanguard comes in handy.

But for on the move stuffs, for me at least, the Vanguard's too big.

BTW, I have a Lowepro Slingshot 300AW, and I love it. I used to use the Lowepro Orion Trekker II (still have it, but seldom use), its good for a body with lens and 2 extra lens and a flash, plus you can put some towel and a bottle of water at the top compartment. But since my gears have grown in size lately ie. grip. It no longer fits comfortably inside.

Oh yeah, I used to have the Vanguard Uprise 48. I think it is one of the bigger one, with compartment for laptop at the back some more. Here are some photos of that (former) bag of mine:

It is a seriously big bag which can really hold a lot of gear. the built quality is damn nice too. solid bag. i sold it though, because I was downsizing my gears and was no longer eager to bring out every lens I had with me everytime I go outing. I bought it from Digitalmania. biggrin.gif

Err, Sling bag ish a bit painful to use for prolonged period with heavy gears, no?

Can't really get used to the heavy feelin on one shoulder, rather than even weight on both shoulders.

Usually for events, I do prefer sling but take note I travel often, with bags with Vanguard, I could fit just more than camera for my usual travels.
