Interesting subject. Do you mean the silver pipe from compressor ? Will covering it up helps? If yes, semua or certain only?
So far most cars I know does not cover up le... anyone or any car has that?

My car's aircond, so far okay.. not the best in class though. smile.gif. A good tint does helps.

Added this...this is how aircond works..generally. Now looking at the pix, which one to cover? blue? Red? yellow? dark blue?

ermm no idea didn't really pay attention on engine before this. the pipe in Dark Blue, since that's the cold gas going inside. the heat in engine bay will reduce the coldness? my car's aircond is not as cold as myvi's one.

what you think?

doing some quick research...looks like the dark blue one.. (cold pipe).

As the cold gas are transfered into the coil inside the cabin...the engine heat is the cause.

There is a guy did it.. and claimed works..

Need to find the foam pipe/tube with good quality and heat resistant.

Added : Many tried that it helps when the car is idle. Insuflex tube... one guy bought from electrical shop (not hardware shop). It is precut 2mtr length. Said enough, just 2M cost abt RM3 only.

tie with thick and longer cable ties... wrap the bigger or cold pipe woh.

I will give it a try. a thicker insuflex, maybe 10mm like the one used in air conditioning piping I assume.

But after look closely, it will be really hard for me to cover up the silver pipe. most part couldn't reach by hand. Have to take out most probably?

the normal aircon pipe used at home is bigger in size..i think not suitable. hope I'm wrong.

I will try cari in the electrical shop... hardware shop ada for house one and fit then better.

from the firewall..till the drier and compressor, make sure it is cold pipe, not hot pipe.
the troublesome part is the one running parallel with firewall which is hard to access.

you want to try too? yes very hard to reach inner part. and tied with cable tie?

electrical shop? What if I buy more and stick on engine bay to prevent heat from going inside? The wall behind dashboard

I did try it on a waja before. It didn't do much. The aircon was still the same. I did it inside a shop, but forgot how much I paid. The idea is sound, but I guess whether the heat really does transfer to the pipe and increase the temperature is the question. So thinking about it, I guess when your car is not moving, perhaps the heat will cause the aircon to be less cold. But back then with my waja, I hardly park and wait for something or someone.

But now I do it a lot,.. wait for my bosses.

E, Fei, I can't make it tomorrow. Have to work. I'll be in Tmn Sri Putra, come for lunch E.
