Better do sound proofing first. At least add in insulflex or sticky pad on your door panel. Later ur boom box will make the side door / tin milo go piak piak. 

unless you listen to mozart/bethoven .. light and easy FM.

I second that... The Alza with untreated sound insulations makes me feel like I'm suffering from tinnitus... Fat chance of being driven to road rage...

using any VS? if not pls consider EDGE VS

I don't say this VS can replace your plan to change speaker. But it do improve the audio quality. And it need time to run in. Also same with that HU VS.

So if you get this VS and run in, by the time you still want to change speaker u will get better quality output compare to others using the same speaker & HU.

I did listen to those who use higher level VS. I'll never know thats original speaker if they don't told me.

Wow..to many to reply here for previous posts.

1. The aircompressor once kicks in, it draws much power (electric)..that is why flickers.  A good VS or battery (higher rate) may help.  It is kind of heavy and the battery seems too small to take the load.  Next round once the battery kong, I will change to MF with higher spec as I have 'small' underseat woofer and I pump up the headunit's volume averaging 12-14 most of time.

2.  Don't change the speaker first. After you changed, also wont help much.  I heard that some alza owner add in the sound proof, the 'bass' is better.  Not for me as my expectation of bass it higher. 

3. I previously changed the speaker first, the HU can't boost the new higher spec speakers..and hardly any bass also.
Unless u want a more clarity sound.
4. i wld suggest add sound proof first on 4 doors, then see how is it.  Our ears has many preference from one ppl to another.  Like me, I want clear sound / voice with some good bass.  So I tune the HU to lower bass and okay treble for good voice and clearity.  Then if nak bass, add a 10" underseat woofer like I did.  Adjust the frequency both ends.. done.
All this as entry level sound system utilising existing headunit. 

5. The 4 doors sound proof pads is good to have.. just around RM300 (mixture of 2 types of pads for value and effectiveness), I think now price a bit more... can buy bulk then cheaper.  DIY lo... at least close door also no plank plank milo tin sound.

6.  Bro lowstate, chasis foam on chasis wont help much in soundproof.  Handling yes.  If nak mixture of some better handling and soundproof (road / tayar noice), I DIY - put foam into A pillar and door sills.  Just 2 cans, cost me RM110 (I selling this as my friends asking me to get it from supplier). 

DIY will give more knowledge and know the alza better.  I can give guide / tips pun.. I think many sifus can give guidance too. Some also get me to do it for them with some small fees (pads or foam).. some DIYer DIY themselves and ask me to be there for guidance or help when needed.  (provided the timing is right la) 

But again, all these choices are open to each individual in priority.  No right or wrong.

This Edge Entry Level VS need about 200 hours of run in (masak cukup cukup) before it really 100% function.
BUT, with 30 hours of run in this VS already much better than many in the market  ( this is not my script, but I'm 100 agree after using it)

Interesting subject.  Do you mean the silver pipe from compressor ? Will covering it up helps? If yes, semua or certain only?
So far most cars I know does not cover up le... anyone or any car has that?

My car's aircond, so far okay.. not the best in class though.  .  A good tint does helps.
Added this...this is how aircond works..generally.  Now looking at the pix, which one to cover? blue? Red? yellow? dark blue?

doing some quick research...looks like the dark blue one.. (cold pipe).

As the cold gas are transfered into the coil inside the cabin...the engine heat is the cause.

Need to find the foam pipe/tube with good quality and heat resistant.

Added : Many tried that it helps when the car is idle.  Insuflex tube... one guy bought from electrical shop (not hardware shop).  It is precut 2mtr length.  Said enough, just 2M cost abt RM3 only.

tie with thick and longer cable ties... wrap the bigger or cold pipe woh.

the normal aircon pipe used at home is bigger in size..i think not suitable. hope I'm wrong.

I will try cari in the electrical shop... hardware shop ada for house one and fit then better.

from the firewall..till the drier and compressor, make sure it is cold pipe, not hot pipe.
the troublesome part is the one running parallel with firewall which is hard to access.

if can get hold of right foam, buy in bulk...can cheaper a bit...then we all meet 1 place for DIY and TTS.

Doesn't 45 series tyre gonna make the ride uncomfortable? Currently the 55 already too firm (my housing road condition is pretty bad).

my case is not from engine, slow speed also got.. When 120kph will gone too becoz the surrounding noise is louder

On the other hand, I also test drive my relative Alza which is 2 weeks old abt 600km, no rattling noise at all in the car, but sound proof from door still like stock condition.. My car soundproof still better, just the rattling from dashboard is the most obvious, then both side of b pillar, which I have no idea how to solved them yet after many tried..

the tyre series just made 10~15%change in comfortable between 45 and 55. by the way , the fuel consumption affected too.haha
does alza can fit 205/45/16 tyre , because i have 4 pcs extra RIM+Tyre(85%thread) already put in thr 2 yrs.
such a waste if keep in there . i dunno can fit my incoming alza or not.

195/65/15 too tall. Cornering might not be so good due to alza's height.

if i buy Alza, the last row is meant to bend down for more storage space.
