dunno about the cost (yet), but i'm expecting it to be around 220-250, maybe more since i'm now in kuching.

how about the type that gets rid of the intake box (the black one, dunno the specific name, lol) and attaches a pipe & a mushroom air filter to the intake? my friend installed it in his manual SE, he said not gooding for auto 'box.
*
U mean the mushroom type air filter izzit...? That one is called open-pod... Sure will be able to suck in more volume of air, but need to pair with good heatsink, otherwise will cause power drop instead of power gain.. N that one, also need to have piggyback ecu to alter the air-fuel ratio, otherwise it's capabilities is put to waste if with original ECU... Not really matter manual or auto, if ECU original, still wont able to fully utilize it's capabilities.. Will have a lot of improvements in pick-up, but top end will surely suffer... Without playing with piggyback ECU, air-fuel mixture will be too lean..

yes the reason this guys are cheap is because they r doing the dell way B to C so thay can get the product to the market faster and cheaper.

yes K&N drop in is in and the flow now is very smooth and quicker and this is what I was looking for but how I wish now I can push the gear change to 6500 or 7000 rather than 6000 muhahahahaha!!! but then again the new car aint no have OD and its a auto  blink.gif

IMHO, drop-in maybe dun void waranty, but if open-pod, quite risky...

yeah, drop-in doesn't void warranty.. asked my SA about it. and the open-pod... if i have to do that much (ecu, heatsink..) to gain performance, maybe i should steer away from it.. For now, brows.gif

i have to ask though; is there any other brands besides K&N?

Hello princess,

No, the driver seat window auto winds down and you have to manually wind it up again.

Not sure as the config for myvi due to space in the bonnet we need to use the 4-1 rather than a 4 2 1 spent around 430 for the entire setup as I kept the original silencer behind.

Yes both the sensors were replaced and the extractor already come with sensor slot they had only to redo the one after the CAT.

Quite as original or maybe even better now as I do not hear the engine struggling from the front compartment anemore and for the rear its the same as before as I have already done soundproffing at the rear and wheel wells.
*
bro..same with me..i kept the silencer..the first day i install my muffler..the sound was like damn loud..then i re-install back the silencer...

i installed open-pod before in my nisssan sentra b14..its k&n though..
the result was amazing bt i did not install the heat sink/ heat shield..
it is important as it prevents excessive heat to go back into ur engine..
the best if u can pair all the items below:
-CAI hose
-Open Pod Air Filter
-Mod Exhaust

then u can hear a bassy sound starting from ur engine till the muffler...

my ride banged in front doh.gif

can post? haha.

anyways bros and sis here..after the accident I flip through the documents of myvi.

there's this KAPMA membership which warranty ended in 2009 ( 12 months )

I see lots of benefits it can give.Namely free tow, hotel accomodation, car rental, legal stuffs advice,
free repair and more( break down or accident)

Is is wise to take up this membership or its just some crap to ignore?RM50 annual.

anyone with membership can share?

btw I would suggest "what to do list" if accident or breakdown for new thread?

Haha ! no picture of the car before accident? tongue.gif

Anyways regarding the KAPMA, Yes it has a lot of benefits but then Perodua seem to not promote it anymore. So not sure if that KAPMA is still valid. According to the website, it says you can register from those Perodua Branch.

Here's the link:
