Sorry tumpang a bit to check on the new Myvi. Was an owner of the 2005 version but I sold it off and I still see my name in the owners list! biggrin.gif But now looking to get the 2011 version for wife so..how's the car doing with its new owners? Had pretty bad experience with mine back in 2008 so I hope P2 made some progress on the QC/QA dept with this new Myvi.
Its for real...should be coming soon. Looks very nice actually
*
hi bro, my LB is treating me quite well. no problems so far.

ride's nice & comfy, not too much road noise, and the 2-tone interior is simple and straight forward; no odd angles or silly curves.

the speakers are a dissappointment though. shakehead.gif

speaking of QC ar, any LB owners here got a service-advice-thingy letter? got mine last week; told me to bring that letter when i do my next servicing for the techs to do some checking on some loose wiring.

that's a bit of a dent in P2's QA/QC score, eh?

I did heard of this loose wiring problem before the new Myvi was delivered, asked P2 but didn't get any respond. Hope I would receive their letter soon smile.gif Btw when you received the letter?

*
i got the letter 2 weeks back.. but since my 2nd service still has 1km to go at that time, haven't sent it for servicing yet.

hopefully it won't die out on me when i'm driving/starting the car, haha! laugh.gif

Yea the speakers are really disappointing, no bass at all, going to change my speaker... hahaha
Another disappointment is the air-con compressor, the compressor kick it frequently and u can hear it inside the car when the radio is off... But u can't hear it when u turn on the radio...  laugh.gif

BTW, i'm planning to install VS on my LB myvi, will it void my warranty?
*
yup yup, the compressor sometimes gets on my nerves... kicking in so frequently. is this the common trait of all P2 cars?

btw, what is this "VS" thing? reading previous replies, i'm guessing it's some kind of capacitor banks?

i just noticed a faint whine coming from elegance, driving in D, speeds above 80 kph. the whine goes away when i release the throttle.. is it just me?

went for 2nd service, told the staff about it but they don't seem to hear anything. weird...

yes, exactly like this one! just scared that the sound is a warning for an imminent AT box failure, LOL~!

did some google-ing, and the last reply on this link has an uncanny similarity to our situation:

additionally, some myvians add a small rotating fan infront of the CAI hose...theory says that it will suck in air faster and prevent water from goin into the air box..

some people says that CAI does not brings big impact though and afraid water will go in rather than cold air..

*
about that fan thing... as far as i know, it's not powered right? it just uses the airflow to spin the fan, resulting in a "screwing airflow pattern" that is said to make the flow into the engine smoother. that's what my friend told me la. but still i'm a bit skeptikal..

bcoz u put the fan there, it creates drag, and drag slows the air down. (that's me thinking from fluid mechanics point of view la).

might as well selotep a small tamiya motor there to power the fan, haha!

hey guys, come end of this month i'm planning to install a drop-in air filter in my elegance.

imma noob in all things about car performance; so i'd very much appreciate it if any 3rd party drop in air filter users can give me recommendations/feedback. rclxms.gif

thinking of the K&N 33-2292 filter. hmm.gif

How much that will cost u bro...?? Where the shop at...??

Added on November 17, 2011, 2:09 pmI think Kifuri already using drop-in air filter, n he also reviewed on the drop in air filter in earlier post... Need to read again previous pages in this thread then.. biggrin.gif
*
dunno about the cost (yet), but i'm expecting it to be around 220-250, maybe more since i'm now in kuching.

how about the type that gets rid of the intake box (the black one, dunno the specific name, lol) and attaches a pipe & a mushroom air filter to the intake? my friend installed it in his manual SE, he said not gooding for auto 'box.

IMHO, drop-in maybe dun void waranty, but if open-pod, quite risky...
*
yeah, drop-in doesn't void warranty.. asked my SA about it. and the open-pod... if i have to do that much (ecu, heatsink..) to gain performance, maybe i should steer away from it.. For now, brows.gif

i have to ask though; is there any other brands besides K&N?

*
hey, kuching myvi driver! :brofist:

from K&N website, the 2 dealers are A.S.S. ENTERPRISE (Installer) at Rubber road there, (google maps link doesn't work though...) and Loh Motor, somewhere in Kenyalang Park.

here's the link to find dealer: http://www.knfilters.com/search/dealersearch.aspx

EDIT: price dunno bro, haven't gone there yet. busy with work this past 2 months..

back to the rain: quite weird la for me, almost everytime (even outside the rainy season) after i'm done washing my car in the morning, very high chances of rain in the evening. sakit hati ooo... cry.gif
