I am on the other hand, thinks that Evans has improve tremendously this season

he wasn't as good as when he first came in to the team.
but he is now definitely playin much better than last season.
he is a decent full back as well, so he's a big asset to our team.

A great backup i have to agree. I just keep hoping he can back on his track like 2 years ago. Thats the year when he shined that time.

Vidic and Ferdinand still can play few more years, give him some years and hope he can get better and better and become first team patner with Phil Jones.

well at least he threw last year's performance to his back and didn't look back, so i think he's on his way back to his best (don't forget now he has to lead, compare to few years back where he was following the big boss lol)

i do think we need to "slow" things down a bit...with opponents lunging their bodies to hurt our players like that, however deep our squad is will be rendered moot if this trend continues...

No offense bro but i think you are too critical of Evans or even De Gea like in your earlier posts.
But the point is, we have a group of 5 central defenders (Rio, Vida, Jonny, Jones and Smalling) that any other clubs in the Premiership would actually trade anything they have to be in the same situation.
Any of these guys can come in and cover for each other without disrupting the balance of the defence.

My oh my, what a thrilling encounter last night. First half, we were crusing. Key moments was obviously the Smalling goal which had a teeny hint of offside, but heck, I'll take it considering the load of refereeing decisions going against us everytime we go up against the Renties. 2nd goal from Nani was a stormer. Any 2nd rate team would know not to let him dribble at will so easily and have a free shot at goal. It was poor man marking from their side, but the hit would've taken a finger off Cech had he touched it, damn it was powerful. 3rd goal from Rooney was lucky, pinball stuff. Overall in the first half, both sides were equal, but the scoreline flattered us coz of some luck and more lethal finishing. The save for "the hey ya" from Ramires was crucial as hell. Bad finishing, but that was not to be the worst of the match. I switched to channels and saw out the Citeh game. Yes, a chance to go top and widen the gap!

Going in for the break, I was confident this was going to be an easy three points. Dare say, I was xpecting another mauling a la vs Arsenal. However, the moment the match restarted, doubt began to settle in again. Quickfire goal from the Renties had us thinking, are they really gonna steal a point of us? We got shakey, played with more carefulness about us. And then we got a penalty. Yes, heres a chance to kill it I thought to myself. Finish them off once and for all. Its not often we see Rooney not score a peno, but the moment the ball left his boot into orbit you just had to wonder, was Rooney trolling Terry for that Moscow miss? His face didnt seem like he was overly dissappointed with it. Dang.

It got a little nervy but we held on. I though to myself, alright, keep the 2 goal lead into the final 5 minutes and we've sealed it. I seemed to notice Torres had a swagger about him after his goal. It was like he was finally in tune with his Liverpool persona, and he gave us a torrid time at the back. All until that 'moment.' Yea. That moment. He sidestepped De Gea like he was never there. Open goal gaping. I though, damn, this is it. They might get a point. And then. From 3 metres. With an empty net. Ball perfectly poised for him to strike. At the feet of the most expensive World Cup holder. He somehow managed to hit it yards away from the goal. I kept quiet. I didnt know how to react. When reality struck, I didnt know whether to laugh or thank the Lord in relief. I did both. He was never the same after that.

The final whistle blew. Three points. Top of the table. Yes.

i shout like hell for the second half defense,but in the end they prevail.

de gea play well great save but not brave enough.center defense really need one taiko to control them.

I am on the same hand as you. I think Evans is back. Compare to last season he has improved, so obviously that's something worthy to praise. In his first season, he has Rio or Vidic to guide him. Especially Rio, u can always see Rio pointing to Evans during defending or attacking a corner. But this season, when Vidic and Rio is out he is the one marshalling the defense. How is that not better than first season?

Ppl always see the bad side of things. Oh, forget to track Torres for the first goal, bad player. But u never weight that mistake to other good deeds he has done. Not that Torres is easily marked anway, despite his goal-shy form he is still a great forward who runs between space, great international defenders would have problem with him, let alone Evans. Don't forget he used to be Vidic's kryptonium. And Evans is bashed because of one or two runs that Torres made.

Please, appreciate him for his improvement rather than look down on where he is now.

great start for united but i think ski will come back get stronger now. AVB is building his squad. i think chelsea still our main contender again this season

Only the whole season go through can tell. I also see alot of guys giving hope on Evans beginning of last season, but end up criticise him at the end of the season.

De Gea criticism is really true, please go read my post whole over again if you want cause he really did mistake that time and no doubt about it, please not to give any excuse for this. Replay tells the whole thing.

I don't want to have someone end up leaving like this like Alan Smith, Forlan, Rossi or even Pique. Earlier mistake is found, then go and learn from mistake. I would say this chelsea game we might lose if Chelsea finishing is somehow accurate. And Anderson mistake is such unforgiven, even De Gea scolded him on spot.

I always go through the straight point whether winning or not. Having winning the match but forgive every mistake during the match is totally absurd. Instead, stated the mistake and learn from the mistake is what the player should be practising. This is how we got our C Ronaldo, Vidic Ferdinand shines, learn from mistake.
