i think he meant by tweaking around within the monitor's OSD (like the brightness, contract, custom RGB setting etc)

yea i still cant get the right setting for both...it seems like i am having problems with the 2412m having a very bright blue white color compare to my 2410...for now my both monitor is using the inbuilt preset for game mode...and it seems like very very bright and i have to low their brightness especially on 2410...but then normally my 2410 is using 35 brightness setting which i already feel is bright enough

You need to have a colorimeter. i.e. Spyder, Eye-One (i1), and etc.
I'm currently using a Spyder 2 Pro but my i1 display 2 will be here in a few more days. Looking to sell the sypder if you anybody is interested Btw, color matching and calibration is very important especially if you have multiple monitor/edit pictures/seeking for accurate color representation. If the panels are different, you can get the displays very close to each other but you would almost never be able to get theme exactly the same. I.e. I could never get my 20" Dell to look like my 30". Added on September 7, 2011, 1:44 pmBTW does anybody know where can I get decent monitor arm (desk mount)? Ergotron is very expensive here and I'm not even sure who sells them other than Dell This post has been edited by AlamakLor: Sep 7 2011, 01:45 PM |

Better than getting dead pixels which is not covered by the warranty. Claim it fast (or wait/sit on it for a month or so that they may announce a firmware etc..A01) .... you should get a new unit, I've not heard of firmware errors that plague the 2407, 2408 and 2410. |

^Technically it's not a dead pixel... but the opposite, bright-pixel, be it temporary. lightly massage it and flash multiple colours to it...if it remains stuck, claim warranty..

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 8 2011, 09:12 AM) Up to you, I usually leave mine on standby if I'm away for a while and turns it off when I away even longer (vacation? I suppose a good practice is the switch on the monitor should be off. More prudent and saves more energy than on stand-by though I suppose some energy draw is still there. |
