but we have to give FSG a big thumb credit. They've somewhat revamped LFC and do as promised. Im sure all Kenny and DC knows what they are doing for the best of the team and club. smile.gif

I remember Bellamy was a flop.
He was no better than Robbie Kean.

It seems some of you are getting excited with Bellamy return to our squad.
He's 32 years old now. Is he getting better now?

We can't keep so many CMs.
We need to get rid some of them.
The transfer fee is still higher than Michael Owen's for RM.

to be fair, we dont know the real reason Raul left....

Obviously we have way too many CMs.
Secondly, Raul has good working relationship with Chelsea's boss. Both are Portuguese. They just click (like Rafa with Spanish playes, Arsene with French).

a long time since i last posted in here.

meireles to chelsea, for me, wasn't really the transfer shock of this window. towards the end of last season, there were already rumours of meireles being surplus of requirements in the team, and now with KD bringing in his own players meireles is clearly dropping down the pecking order.

as good as he is, there tend to be games where he became anonymous and disinterested, perhaps this is one good reason why KD seeks other options in the likes of adam and hendo. meireles is deadlier occupying the hole behind the strikers and is prone to making unsuccessful tricky passes that occasionally put the team in danger of counterattacks, and isn't as good as the new signings in terms of tackling and reclaiming possession. as good as he is, meireles is weaker in keeping possession of the ball compared to lucas, adam and hendo.

i have no complains with meireles submitting a transfer request, in fact i believe that there could've been some arrangements made unknown to the public prior to the deadline. how can a player possibly submit a transfer less than 2 hours before the deadline and the transfer still go through? rather than being used as a pawn in other transfer dealings, meireles probably grew tired and wanted to leave when an offer was put on the table.

bellamy back is a little unexpected for me. wasn't really spectacular, although i do like his battling style, i have a feeling that he was brought in to merely provide a good backup in our striking department only. i'm sure he's aware that he cannot possibly break into the first 11 with carroll and suarez ahead of him and both almost a decade younger too. instead of throwing in ngog late into games hoping that he produces something brilliant to win it, i believe most people here would prefer throwing in bellamy to hound the defenders, and with his experience, can do more critical damage with minimal time on the clock.

no comments on coates, have never ever seen him play, we've seen a fair few young defenders come in and failed to shine, let's hope he's not one of those.

credit to the owners and KD for having the guts to release all the deadwoods in the squad, ie degen, poulsen, el zhar, etc. most clubs will probably keep their fringe players, hoping some other clubs would come in and buy, but our owners are quick to stop the damage. if these few players remain in the squad and are not loaned out, we'll be wasting millions in wages on players who won't be even playing in the reserves league. sometimes it's just not good holding on and hoping that these players will one day improve so dramatically to earn a place in the first 11.

FSG means business, and KD isn't all that friendly chap too. i have a soft spot for joe cole, always thought he'll be a core player in the team, but i think KD and FSG made the right decision to send him out on loan.

As the season unfolds, LFC management will be proven right about selling Meireles. Obviously he wanted to leave because he was willing to forgo his cut of the transfer fee by handing in his transfer request.

He's done some good things for us and scored some spectacular goals but I feel that his weaknesses outweigh his strengths - cannot tackle, loses possession too easily, over-elaborate passes and suspect fitness.

I'm a Bellamy admirer so I'm happy with this acquisition. As someone pointed out just now, he'll probably be used as a second half sub to cause problems to tiring defenders, and he can!

Bellamy was a lot better than Kean actually. He was no where near a flop, Rafa only bought him to just get by until he could afford Torres. Unlike then, Bellamy will not be solely depended on as a main striker. Now he's just a squad player that Kenny can rely on should Carroll's form or fitness deteriorates. Personally, i think we've made some terrific transfers this season. Young promising CB, reliable leftback, natural left winger, 2 good midfielders and an experienced back up striker.

i dont see any good in caroll ..he is like another crouch .. deep forward waiting for ball and...can't score.. -.-" love to see suarez with bellamy getting result..downing on the left wing or being partner up with suarez could produce too..

bellamy = speed

that's why i favor him rather than carroll, and to be honest i dont see yet 35m 'worthness' of carroll yet, might need some time for it i guess?

Yes, actually bellamy could be a regular starter too, with him filling up the RW spot. He could prove to be a vital acquisition.

35m was an inflated figure that came up because we got 50m for Torres and needed a striker to replace him at the eleventh hour!

Having said that, Carroll is actually not a bad striker and he's still young. He heads the ball well and has a pretty good shot for a tall guy. Of course, he's nowhere near world class yet.

If he stays humble and positive he can only get better with so many good 'teachers' at Liverpool. Have seen 'flops' like Carra and (more recently) Lucas learn, develop and become key players. So, let's be patient with the young man and, hopefully, watch him blossom!

It's a shame really. I always felt Ngog has the talent to make it here, in fact skill wise he could even be a better player than Bellamy at his peak. Sadly, he lacks the mental toughness to lead the line. Bellamy on the other hand, is not afraid to express himself. In fact i think mentally, he's alot like Suarez. Strong willed but volatile. Only that he's crazy both on and off the pitch.
