The game has changed so much..like it or not, money does make a difference to a team's fortunes. I'm one of those who don't like it but I cannot argue that being able to buy players like Suarez, Downing, Adam, Henderson, Enrique and even Carroll has made a difference this season ... so far!
Nevertheless, having the money to spend is one thing, spending it is another and knowing how to spend (or invest) the money is critical.
Now KD has a large squad of above average to excellent players, with only 3 domestic tournaments to play in. It will be very interesting to see how he will use the squad.
Well, it doesn't look as if he is going to have 3 separate teams for each tournament, what with him starting Suarez even in the Carling cup. Indeed, it will be very interesting to see how he will juggle his team when Gerrard and Johnson are back, and if he acquires Coates and Bellamy as well ... wow!

As the season unfolds, LFC management will be proven right about selling Meireles. Obviously he wanted to leave because he was willing to forgo his cut of the transfer fee by handing in his transfer request.
He's done some good things for us and scored some spectacular goals but I feel that his weaknesses outweigh his strengths - cannot tackle, loses possession too easily, over-elaborate passes and suspect fitness.
I'm a Bellamy admirer so I'm happy with this acquisition. As someone pointed out just now, he'll probably be used as a second half sub to cause problems to tiring defenders, and he can!

35m was an inflated figure that came up because we got 50m for Torres and needed a striker to replace him at the eleventh hour!
Having said that, Carroll is actually not a bad striker and he's still young. He heads the ball well and has a pretty good shot for a tall guy. Of course, he's nowhere near world class yet.
If he stays humble and positive he can only get better with so many good 'teachers' at Liverpool. Have seen 'flops' like Carra and (more recently) Lucas learn, develop and become key players. So, let's be patient with the young man and, hopefully, watch him blossom!

Even if SG recovers completely, and assuming that KD knows the right way to use him, KD should not bring him back immediately. He should come in as a 2nd half sub to give the team a different dimension of play and to offset the opposition.
Honestly though, looking at the way KD is rebuilding the team, I will not be too surprised if SG's playing days with LFC may be numbered. SG is such an extraordinary player that if he cannot get back to his extraordinary style of play, he may actually become a bit of a liability.
Sigh..not a very nice thing to ponder, but that's life..

This is probably the best squad we've had for a long time, thanks to the money and focus of the new owners, the keen eye for talent of Comoli, the proven coaching of Clarke and the determination and charisma of Kenny Dalglish.
It will give me more pleasure and pride to watch the Reds play, whatever the outcomes be at the end of the season.
At least when I say I wish the Reds will win this or that this season, it will not be wishful thinking like previous seasons. So here goes :
I wish Liverpool FC will win all 3 domestic trophies this season!

Henderson is not confident enough at the moment but if KD perseveres with him and he is humble enough to learn, then he should do very well in the long run. He (and even all of us) has to eat humble pie now with Phil Jones called up to the senior England squad while Henderson only for the U21, albeit as captain. Didn't watch the U21 game. Did he play well? Why is he not included in the squad to play Israel?!
Was watching Adam play for Scotland against Czech the other day and was disappointed. He didn't play well and his team-mates didn't seem to want to give much of the ball to him. Perhaps it was due to his injury.
If KD's system is spot-on, missing Adam should not be a problem against Stoke. Moreover we have good cover now : with Lucas, Downing and Henderson as core, KD can pick from Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy and Spearing.
If he picks one of them, then he can play both Suarez & Carroll up front. Alternatively he can play Suarez alone with 5 midfielders to support him.

The wily old fox is truly the maestro when it comes to putting a system in place that works even with different (and lesser known) players. I'd like to think that he got his inspiration from our Bob Paisley.
We have to admit it and accept it people : LFC is pretty much "work in progress". Look at our passing, our clearances, the way we tackle players for the ball and the way we finish...I just hope the Americans will be patient with KD as he tweaks with the system and the players.
LFC also needs plenty (and I mean really plenty) of luck. Let's tone down our expectations and just hope for the best.

I think your midfield may be overrun because there's no holding or defensive midfielder. Except for Gerrard, the others can't tackle - Maxi, Downing; while Bellamy is more a forward.
You need Lucas and we need a steady supremo in the middle - Adam does not fit the bill at all for now and not sure if Gerrard can still do that for a sustained period.
