the only way you can capitalize on this is on paper gold - etf, forex etc

else here, you can lock the physical price from 24x7 dealer, such as :

either nubex -
good price on 1 dinar rm790 ,
50gm gold bar @ rm184/gm
or the 100gm 999 bracelet @ rm185/gm.

another one - public gold.

other than that, all of us could just pray hard tonite that asian market wont push the price further as we always see laugh.gif

Nice share bro but we know that the spreads are too high for Public gold. Yes Asian market will push the price further 'down' sometimes like last Friday.
US dude keep dumping gold like toilet paper, we might able to see 1760 by the time US market close today.

Gold doesn't lose its intrinsic value?
Gold doesn't have a value at all.

Its value is based on fiat money system, aka how much you will pay to own the gold.
Ain't you see gold price now is USD18xx or 1900?
Its value is coming from or based on fiat money.  whistling.gif

You can lose money with gold as well.
Last time 1kg of gold can buy you a bungalow.
Now 1kg of gold is not even enough to buy you medium 1000 sqft apartment.
Tell me how it is not losing "value"?
*
You keep on making statements without backup info.
When was the last time you could buy a bungalow witha kg of gold?
How much was the bungalow then?

Gold does not lose its INTRINSIC value.
A kg of gold is a kg of gold- doesnt change. nod.gif

if u compare with paper gold yes the spread is big 6%, but then again it is physical gold. you need compare with other physical gold, i.e uob bullions 3.x% but u have to wait banks open and got stock, which is unlikely these days.

hope for a further selldown for re-entry by tis week

Gold now at RM 183.10 (Maybank) and USD$ 1,780. The ringgit is dropping drastically as well. SGD is now at 2.49 while USD is 3.13. As long as the ringgit continues to drop, we wont see low prices in gold.

from the news:
"The ringgit weakened 1.09% to 3.1157 against the US dollar from 3.0820 last Friday as investors fled emerging markets on fears that the contagion risk of Europe's sovereign debt crisis might slow global economic growth and hurt the economies of export-based developing countries. The local unit had lost 1.98% of its value from a week ago."

i am a student, planning to invest in paper gold, with budget 3k.

CIMB, Public Bank, Maybank, which one is the best huh ?

UOB is not considered, due to minimum gold amount is 10g, while others is like 1-2g. I am a student, so sometimes i might need to cash out the money

in this bearish market... and also.... down trend market...

even the safest commodities.. gold has been getting more and more volatile...

gold is for long term guys... bear in mind... when you saw some nice profit... you may collect it... and wait for the correction..

you might want to hunt some great potential stock in this time... to get better profit.. buy in bear market.. and wait for the fish..

just my 2 cents... i used to surf this gold thread... but this thread getting hotter and hotter.. haha maybe is the gold trend.. but i choose to leave... i fear when people make money.. lol
