I dont look at fundamentals but i just trade what the charts tells me. In this H8 chart, the chikou (green line) is in the kumo. It explains to me the up and down price u mentioned. As soon as it gets out of the kumo, it will show a little bit clearer picture. Time will tell.

$100 daily swings? By then I'm already out. Risk appetite not that great laugh.gif

2008 was a bad year for gold, but I was looking from 2001 until now. If someone invested gold in 2001, he would still be earning at 2008 rclxms.gif

I am the one who bought at 2008, 15/5/2008 to be precise. Knocking my head for several months and nobody were talking about gold at that time.
I am a very-very-very conservative investor, so you might imagine how I feel that time.

But today, if I give you 10k, can you bring me back to that year?

Investing in gold, based in my experience, monitoring hourly chart is really not good for your health.

Could you share your strategy from 2001 to now. R U doing dollar cost averaging. Every month buy 1 oz etc.
Let us know.
or E.g
2001 :- RM20K
2002 :- RM30K
2003 :- RM40K

how is your trading model? when you take profit ?
etc.

Invest gold, leave it for 6 months or 1 year then only check price see you make your profit or not, this is the best healthy way.

I bought 7oz Kijang, and that is my first investment after reading about fundamental in 2 years. Yes I have sleepless night because of bagging my head constantly.

Until today, the fundamental is still the same. In order Obama to maintain the current status quo, he has to print more money and if he decide to stop, current debt structure will collapse. Either way, gold will win.

After you buy gold, don't go and keep monitoring the prices. You may get heart attack looking at the prices going up and down.

i actually bought in 2002 when kijangs became available

i studied gold from 1999 to 2001 after the SEA financial crsis.
Know what? US was gearing towards that as well in 1990s with easy credits, etc

:Then took the plunge in 2002 to 2003. sold ALL my banking stocks and plunk then into gold.
That was the biggest gold investment.
i bought along the way......100k a year at major corrections till $1000
Some friends who followed sold out at $700s....only two remains.

i Havent sold a single oz yet.

After the 2008 plunge i went into mining stocks.........and now i am trading gold/silverthrough GLD/DGB and AGQ.

i still have not sold a single physical oz of gold yet. Was tempted to at $1900.....sold paper instead

Predicted gold price by end of this year USD2200/1oz by many so called themself the expert, website and blog. <--- This is bullsh!t
Do not believe, see the price now you know! A steep drop from USD1900/1oz to USD1655/1oz hmm.gif
Do not invest in gold unless you want to wait for another 5 years to collect back your principal and profit from it.
