hey guys just wanna get a different prospective here. im just thinking would it be wise travel to down under and start looking for a job there instead of going thru the whole migration purposes. ofcourse then if the company is keen on taking me then it will be much easier to get the work document process done while im still there. would appreciate some feedbacks thanks

Not wise at all. Firstly if u go in on a tourist visa, and immi finds out, either they will tendang u back n blacklist u.

Secondly, if any employer hires u, they will get into trouble as well as u.

The type of jobs u can get without a visa are illegal and cash in hand. Means they can underpay, exploit u by paying below market wages (see recent report: http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/stories/201...04/4227055.htm)

And Oz is now getting very crowded, lots of locals find it hard to get a job.

Better if u can see if any employer willing to hire u on a 457 visa.

You do not seem to understand. LEGALLY U NEED A PR OR WORK PERMIT FIRST. Employers will not consider u otherwise.
My suggestion:
1. get PR or PROPER visa first.
2. Travel to Oz and apply.

U have a better chance of getting employed when u r there. However there are stories of dozens of applications per job.
Without local quals AND experience (or highly sought after skills), ur name will be pretty much at the lower end of the list.

The thing is... how are you going to travel to Australia? on ETA? if so, you do not have a valid visa with working rights and ALL employers will not consider you at all! Unless you mean illegal workers in Chinatown, fruitpicking jobs etc. which are out of the picture

The most important thing is that you must have a valid visa with working rights, i.e. PR before you can start applying for anything.

After that, only your experience and qualifications will take into account. Please bear in mind that Australia values work experience in local Aussie land, and some English speaking countries like the US and UK only. Your experience in Malaysia or even Singapore will not impress them.

There are a lot of 457s in play.

Not only that, some employers will hire you on the premise or prospect that you will land a permanent visa.

Normally these employers tend to be the kind that already has experience doing so.

Well, if you have been only applying through seek.com, most of the jobs don't even exist.

No. That doesn't work. Get a PR, fly here and live here. Most employers will laugh you out the door once they prescreen you via VEVO.

Well , if want you want to apply a job via Seek from Malaysia . My advise would be :

1) Have a Oz address and Oz Hp stated in your resume. ( at least u can pretend that you are seriously in Oz , rather in Msia. )

2) Very Important and effective - Is your resume Australianise ? ( i.e : If you insert your picture in the resume , it will be in the bin immediately) Google a few examples of Oz Resume format. It really makes alot of difference.

Good Luck

Hi, recruiters receive dozens of applications per job.
What makes your application stand out?
What will make the recruiter short list you?
Compared to the candidates who may have worked with the same company, same products and in the same area, how do you stand out?
Do you just send out the applications and just hope to get shortlisted? If that is your approach, it is extremely unlikely you will ever get called back.
