Hey peeps!, my friend's PStwo recently cant detect any disc... later i found out it works when i 'press/hold down' the PStwo cover then i can hear the cd/dvd spins... and it works...

So i was wondering something its loose in there or wut?.. how to i fix that? or shld i say how to i tighten it?...

i suspect its the alignment of the lens..

er.. I thought 70x series can't be tune ?

The other day I saw a modchip operation procedure
(from my usual shop)
the thing is a green pcb with red wiring
on the pcb is written Messiah 3.2
but there are no marking on the chip itself
there are another smaller chip beside it

i just wanna ask ..
is this the real deal?

Messiah 3.2 is a clone. The real Messiah stopped production at version 2 and only supported up to PS2 v7/v7 or 39000x series. The makers got sued by Sony. Those cloners are using Messiah's name because it's popularity and as a marketing gimmick, so don't fall for it.

I faced new problem with my fat ps2 model:30002R..
I tried tuning the white cog..
Heres the result.. CD working.. DVD sometimes does sometimes dont
When it does the Playstation word pop out and after a second or two.. there will be "zit zit" sound coming out from the ps2 and the whole screen is black..
from what i observed in the spinning mechanism the thing spins like for 20-25 second then it will stop after a while (5second) then it will continue spin with the "zit zit" sound.

Any help and assistance would be much appreciated...

It's a sign of a dying lens.

OMG.. is there a way to fix it? How much will it cost to get the lense replace?

CD no

yeah same here, 1st gen ps2, reads DVD5 and CD, but not DVD9, but I think its because of the 1st gen modchip

Anywayz, i kinda fix it oredi.. i juz pressed firmly down the tray area... in all corners..

And it works for few days liaoz... hopefully nuthin serious going there.. i was thinking something loose in there..

You guys must take xare of ur ps2....clean it often. My ps2 gonna be 4 1/2 years but still ok....touch wood......

mine is already too late too touch wood.. anybody knows where is a good shop to get my ps2 fixed or get the lenses changed?

Mine had the same problem with lens or the coil according to the regular shop I went. It's only 1 year old... :'( But I had to admit, I play a lot on it... And GT4 doesn't help with it's 24hrs endurance race..:S

p.s. Lens change according to the shop is bout 300+.

wait. I thought clone messiah 3.2 is use for SCPH-50x series? why end up on a SCPH-70x series for ?

I was looking for messiah or any other chip that supports my 1st gen ps2, but it wasn't available here. So I got another PS2 instead. Right after that, all the cool modchips for 1st gen ps2 came out... sighh.

that time i bought messiah just arrived here about 1 week

May I know what is happen to my PS2? When I put in a game until the game menu it is fine but when in the menu the graphic seems gone, can't see any words just some spoil colors. Some game the graphic spoil at the menu some in the game. Thanks

Just past it to tot31...he did mine...took extra time to align the lens and clean up the console.
