I can confirm that bluechip modchip does not support any homebrew applications, so whoever can't load hdloader your modchip is most probably a bluechip. I've tested 2 machines with bluechip and both failed to load hdloader, usbadvance and any other homebrew applications.

maybe phobian ps2 have this chip sad.gif , no news from him too...

Heya mates.

Tentatively m quite tied up with work. Hence, didnt have the chance to lay my hands on the console yet.

Blue chip..red chip..sounds jargon to me though. LOL!

But rite now, I would use the splash screen-ejecto method to load HDL/A. When i see the splash screen, eject the tray, take out disc and voila.

Shadow of Colossus is not supported on HDL, so it seems..

ahoy matey.

actually itys not a chip, the chip itself is named bluechip..one of messiah's (another modchip) clone.

unfortunately, the blue chip does not support homebrew appl;ication such as hdloader.

As far as i know ... you dont need modchip to run HDloader or the other applications if you have PS2 version prior SlimLine ... you can just do the memcard/PS1 orig game hack ... you just need an original PS1 game (buy it cheap from someone) .. and a memory card.

but to copy required files into the memory card u need to use a modded ps2 that can play burned CD. Just borrow your fren modded ps2 ...

to use this hack .. u just boot the ps2 using the orig game ... ps2 will read the memory card and run the hdloader.... its really a neat hack .. too bad Sony fixed it in SlimLIne versions .. vmad.gif

goto to ihack.org for guide .. i think tot31 or snipersnake posted a guide in here too ...

Playing any game, DVD on the long run will harm the lens sooner or later. Your PS2 Slimline ?

I think you must be changing the system setting, changing it from
RGB to Component or something (at the PS2 System Browser).

Snake, the solution I found is that you'll need to 'correct' this setting
at someone's place that has progressive scan OR you have a friend walk you
thru the keypresses.

I actually had the reverse situation. I was already using progressive scan,
then I play around and change it from component to RGB. I couldn't change
it back (Not unless I can memorize the keypresses). My case was easier
as all I needed to do was to fish out the standard AV cables, change it
back and reconnect the component AV out.

Good luck with it. smile.gif

most emulator load the whole ROM into memory and run from there, even got reading also very few, unless the emulated platform is CD TYPE like SEGA SATURN, PS1, DREAMCAST, so i dont think it will hurt your lense

i remember that i play PS2 version of Metal Slug 5, take out the DVD still able to complete the game laugh.gif

correct me if im wrong notworthy.gif
